  1. I love seeing all this excitement. Wish I could go. Just have to sail vicariously through you all.
  2. I’m excited but sadly have no money. Maybe in two or three years, though. I look forward to reading your blog report of your sailing.
  3. MisterTonopah made steak and lobster for dinner. We have never, in 34 years together, had lobster at home. It was excellent. Better than a restaurant. Steak done to a turn, lobster so tender and juicy. Life is good today.
  4. Thanks so much, Jack. Do you know if the passenger choir and talent show were still offered?
  5. This is Elvis. He was here the day the chicks came home 4 years ago and he’s still their guardian and pal.
  6. I’m pretty sure it is “H” for Host Hattie!
  7. Go to each line’s website and search for “special diet”. Every line I’ve been on has a form to fill out prior to the cruise and they will make sure your needs are met.
  8. You can see her here (along with her friends) on the webcam now. https://www.portcanaveralwebcam.com
  9. I have an agent who specializes in Cunard voyages. Maybe she is even a Cunard contractor, I’m not exactly sure. She answers every query within 24 hours. Yesterday I noticed our emergency contact was wrong. After trying unsuccessfully to edit the info on the website, I contacted her. She updated the info within 15 minutes. I agree that the website is not individual-use friendly, but I’m well satisfied with my TA who has all the inside knowledge. I’m still pretty appalled at the way folks have gotten their voyages cancelled so abruptly. I understand why it happened, but I just think it could have been dealt with more sensitively.
  10. This ^^^ would be very irritating. 200+ people getting the choice tables early while “regular” passengers get to sit in the spectator seats. We’ll be careful not to book when this group is scheduled, but how does one know?
  11. We take the early seating so we can get to the Queen’s Room, find a table near the floor, and take a spin or two on a less-crowded floor. I’d be frustrated (and envious) if we showed up and the floor/room was closed. I UNDERSTAND it, but it would still be disappointing.
  12. 39 Days 5 Weeks 918 Hours 55080 Minutes 3,304,800 Seconds …
  13. Tattooed loudmouths? OK. Why shouldn’t everyone who buys a cruise “get their money’s worth”? Don’t you expect to get your money’s worth? And what does body art have to do with it?
  14. We’re just taking the Cunard coach. Easy. Whoops. I missed that you are going down a day early. Sorry.
  15. We went on a large tour. There was a solo traveler. She told me toward the end of the tour that she had wasted many days worrying about eating alone, not fitting in, being treated differently or with pity because she was solo. The only regret she had was all the worrying she did about that stuff prior to the trip. You’ve eaten alone before. You will be fine. There will be others and you or they can strike up conversations…or not. There is no reason not to use your specialty dining just because of what “might” happen. Instead of thinking of all the “awkward” things that could happen, please spend your time imagining all the good things that could happen. The good is more likely. You deserve this treat for yourself. Please try not to diminish it. It will be different but it will be amazing.
  16. YIKES! Here we go. The OP never said they were underdressed. They said they were going to the Club Dining Room. And a majority of those of use who eat in the Britannia Dining Room acknowledged that it is acceptable, common, and they would be fine. Dear OP, just go to your lovely dining area in any way you see fit. I’ll just go back to my lovely cream of mushroom soup and perfectly done scallops. I think the question has been asked and answered. (I still want to see the sashaying, though!)
  17. ArriveCAN needs info within 72 hours. I hope you don’t have to test twice. I understand why you are confused for sure!
  18. It’s so fluffy I’m gonna DIE!
  19. There is a special needs form on the Royal Caribbean website. Fill it out and put in your specific needs. One of the options is “extra assistance at the pier”.
  20. I love a good burger. I know a bad burger. I love properly prepared mussels but loathe rubbery “off” ones. A waffle should be crisp, not limp. Please cook my duck past pink. Please use the freshest lettuce and other veggies in my green salad. I don’t like fruity chicken, even when it is cooked to perfection. ”The food in the dining room was awful” doesn’t mean anything. ”My plate was lukewarm, my steak was shoe leather, there was a foreign object…” all mean something. ”The waitstaff knew from day 1 I dislike raspberries and made sure my chocolate dessert didn’t have any coulis on the plate” means something. My opinions but a “good” burger is subjective. A “properly cooked’ burger is not. TL/DR - Don’t let Tonopah near a keyboard when she is on heavy cold medicine.
  21. MisterTonopah does switch up his bow tie color (gasp) depending on what I wear. He sews his own ties so enjoys switching them around.
  22. Dress to the nines every night. Eat the ice cream. Dance even if no one else is. Life is short (and getting shorter all the time).
  23. Many years ago I relocated (by myself) to England from California with two children under the age of 5. I wish I had had a luggage service at that time! If it is in your budget, then I think it is a wise decision to use the service. Just remember they will pick up your bags a couple of weeks in advance so you will need to plan for that. And please report back if you can remember to, after your adventures.
