  1. Someone may very well correct me if I am wrong...but since everything is tied to your shipboard account there really is no mechanism to accept cash. After charging to your room account you can always go to the Purser's desk and give them cash to apply to your account.
  2. Strongly suggest you take whatever screenshots you can to prove that you have pre=paid for the internet. Just sayin....
  3. Thanks for taking the time to post! We are doing this same cruise in Feb. so will be following your posts very closely.
  4. Hah! Norovirus...now that's a blast from the past!
  5. So...what do you mean by "reserved"? Have you actually booked this cabin and have a confirmation email...or did you just have it on hold?
  6. Certainly not wanting to tempt fate...but after 18 cruises we've never had an issue with porters "losing" our luggage. YMMV!
  7. Yes...but I would bet that they have better app developers!
  8. You only add to the basket if you are purchasing/booking. Selecting waitlist simply puts your name (supposedly) on a list to be notified should an opening become available. I say "supposedly" because I have NEVER been notified...and on at least a couple I have been able to book once onboard at the excursion desk!
  9. You can never give an *absolute* answer to this question because there are a number of things that can cause holdups. Assuming that the ship REALLY docks at 6:00am, then my experience has been that self-disembarkation usually starts at about 7:30. I guarantee *someone* will post something different!
  10. I always thought it was "fru-fru"!
  11. For anything purchased pre-cruise...and then cancel the cruise (for whatever reason) those purchases are automatically refunded back to original form of payment. You should not have to do anything. And it's *usually* pretty quick.
  12. Just think of all the issues that this would open up for these particular developers!!!
  13. I'm not speaking of loungers at all. Sitting in a lounger will only show you the backsides of all the people *standing* at the rail!
  14. The answer given by @cruisequeen4everis correct...assuming that your ship account is set up via credit card (it probably is.) However...some people don't use credit cards...they post a fixed amount of cash into their account at the beginning of their cruise. I personally don't know how that would work (we always just go the CC route) but if by chance you were doing cash then I imagine this would somehow impact what you do in the casino.
  15. While we have *usually* set it up to receive via mail in the past, we are leaning towards just doing the terminal pickup route. One less thing to worry about leaving at home! (And even *that* is not a big deal either! They'll just make you another one.)
  16. Agreed. There will not be an "attendant" or worker in there full time...only during the day.
  17. Your best bet is *probably* to gather interest via your Roll Call and just set up your own.
  18. Just to point out...if you were to book via EZAir that 10:25 flight *probably* does not meet their requirements. I have made it before but you really have to be quick about getting off the ship (self-disembarkation), getting a taxi (Uber, Lyft?) and hope that there are no traffic issues. The airport is relatively close by...but all the planets and stars need to align properly or you're going to really be stressing out over making that flight. We usually go for the 1:00 flight (Delta)
  19. Here are a couple of shots from the Discovery that show where the glass railings are only slightly higher than waist-high. You would have to stake out these spots pretty early, though!
  20. We have evolved into always taking a day or two pre-cruise and at least one post-cruise just to take the stress of all the airline issues off the table. 7 days is plenty for a "first time". We have done 3 Alaska sailings, all round-trip out of Seattle. Didn't particular plan it like that...that's just what the timing and itinerary presented. Try to pick one that visits Glacier Bay. That's a "can't miss"! Especially if you think this is a "one and done" trip. But just to let you know...we thought our first would be a one and done...we've done two more since! Most people (once they've seen the absolute beauty of Alaska) just seem to *know* that they'll be back!
  21. Given that you "have a lot of OBC" does it really matter to you that it's a bit more since it's "free money"?
