  1. I understand that thinking. We have a 14 day cruise on the Sky in June, so I have been researching the options other than MDR. Because this trip is financed by FCC and OBC, I figure this is a good time to do the upcharge venues. Which ones did you use?
  2. Good idea. I have a bunch of OBC to use up, to that would be a good way to do it. I have never done the Balcony dinner or breakfast.

  4. I have several, and they stand up great in the dishwasher.
  5. Of course, what happens on Celebrity has no connection to what happens on Princess.
  6. Princess is doing anything and everything for money, and the don't seem to care one whit about the customers. I would be furious is I were you.
  7. I have seen this many times, a large group split into smaller tables that are next to each other. It seems to make conversation among the group easier.
  8. You can call your French press any pretentious name you like, but I will be happy to use mine if they give me a kettle (which the rest of the world calls an electric tea pot) and I think I can figure out what do with the grounds. I'm very smart that way.
  9. That's the plan. I still keep wondering how they are going to fill all those beds that aren't the ship-in-a-ship. I keep waiting for the "family friendly" ads to start. Of course, as you say, I won't be on board the ship anyway.
  10. Well, a nice little French press would be good... I'm doing a cruise out of Southampton next year (round trip on the Sky) so I wonder if I'll get a kettle?
  11. The Medallion is an electronic device you wear (or carry) that does stuff for you. Opens the door, etc. It's connected to an app you download onto your phone. From there you can make reservations, order food, etc. Every ship is now upgraded to this technology.
  12. We tend to make it a practice to do breakfast in the dining room on disembarkation day. It's so much calmer than the buffet. I seem to remember a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa offered on the menu, but I am old and I imagine things a lot. 😉 Maybe it was on HAL... Come back and tell us if you get one.

  14. They scaled back production shows before covid. They made them shorter to fit in with dining schedules, as I remember. Don't know if that's necessary now.
  15. Oh yes. DH had that once and liked it. I had the Shrimp (scampi) and chips once and liked it. It has been a very long time since my last Pub Lunch.
  16. Maybe electric kettles are not a fire hazard when they are in British waters. 🙂
  17. Yes. There might be a private event happening from time to time, but most of the time, the place is empty.
  18. Alfredo's or Sabatini's? One is free, the other not. All ships are Medallion ships now. I think you mean "Royal Class" ships, which both Royal and Discovery are.
  19. Hahahaha! We ate at Bistro Sur la Mer on Majestic. The app would never let me make a reservation, and the place was nearly empty every night. I finally stopped at the desk and asked if they could squeeze me in and voila! there was a cancellation! The place was still half empty and the food was weird.
  20. I know people whose idea of heaven is a buffet. 🙂 One thing Princess has going for it is a good buffet (on the Royal class ships) with lots of choice. Some food is good, some not. I think they do the best Brussels sprouts and any variety of meatball. DH likes all the soups and curries. When you go out in your leggings, you might put on an extra bracelet or two. Princess is not strictly casual. The shows in the theater are sometimes fun, but you won't see much in the way of production, and they are short. They do comedians a lot. So, for food, I think you will like Princess but entertainment, not so much.
  21. I always like the kids' clubs. I hope they are as good now as before the shutdown. Remix is the club for tens. My gkids had fun there at that age. There was no running amok under pain of no more cruises. 🙂
