  1. Well.. I guess typical RCI strikes again... Different rep, different answer. I called back and was forthcoming about the previous interaction with resolutions, and the C&A agent again said that it is combinable. I get to resolutions to apply the cert, and explain again, and they said yes the 30% is combinable, but the $150 discount for "Extra savings NRD" is not. Well even though I think that is BS, I will take it. I booked for Jan 12, 2024. They all were consistent though that it only has to be booked by the expiration date, and can be for any sailing that is published minus the holiday ones, the certain dates in summer, and not in first 365 days of new ship. I asked... "So I could book Icon in 2025?" and they said yes. I didn't, but I could have. FYI my cert said the expiration date was April 2023, but they told me both times that they show the expiration date as Aug 4, 2023. LOL I will never understand them.
  2. Yeah, the C&A person that answers the phone, says yes it can be combined, and then when they book it and transfer me to resolutions to apply the $2400 credit, they then say the 30% does not apply. I am going to try again.
  3. They just told me that it was not combinable with the current program pricing of 30% off, and that this promotion ends Nov 6, and I should check back to see if it is combinable with the next program pricing on Nov 7. He did mention it was combinable with the 30% from last month, but so far not this month. This company never ceases to amaze me.
  4. Based on the looks of the ones on Icon, there will only be a curtain.
  5. LOL if it were me sleeping... because it would raise the temperature in the room, and I would throw a shoe at whoever had it open. I keep the cabin at icebox temperature.
  6. I know this was not directed at me, so this is just an example. I started cruising in 1991, so 31 years ago this December. All the cruises from Royal, CCL, NCL that I were looking at had airfare included with the cruise price. (It took me forever to decide between NCL Southward and Viking Serenade, as pricing was similar and ended up going to TA recommendation) You could subtract $100-$200 for cruise only. I was 16 when I started cruising and had a good job. My parents were not interested, so I had to "convince" a friend at work who was 26 to go on a cruise with me and I offered to pay for her as well. I paid $583.00 total for two, for an inside upper/lower on NCL Southward out of L.A. (Catalina/Ensenada) with air from Denver on Delta and transfers included. It was completely off season, and I didn't know what to expect, but I did use a Travel Agent for that cruise and the cruise after on the Norway in 1992. Norway was only $1200 and some change for an interior upper/lower for 7 nights Eastern, with air from Colorado Springs on TWA, and overnight in a hotel the night before and transfers. I don't know... savings.org says $583 in 1991 is comparable to $1214.81 in 2022, and $1200 in 1992 is equal to about $2426.12 in 2022. I know it is only two very specific examples, but it didn't seem unreasonable at the time.
  7. I have witnessed two of my friends do just that. $100 at beginning of cruise. Me... I stick to the auto goat's and an extra $20 or so if there was anything I asked out of the ordinary. Usually, the extra pillows at the beginning is all I ask for. I don't care for this either. I think it is perfectly reasonable to have a stack at guest services, and folks can pick them up if they want.
  8. Yeah absolutely. Anything across the pond, our even outside the standard Eastern/Western/Southern Caribbean, would have me eyeballing the itinerary. The Med/Baltic is something I am hoping for later next year. I have to stop being such a baby when it comes to flying. UGH.
  9. Nice!! The ships have been the destination for me for quite some time, and I rarely get off the ship any more in the Caribbean. I really don't care where they go. I am looking forward to experiencing this ship. I like this a lot. I was not a fan of the "thrill ride" idea, but I LOVE that it will lead to an area from the Promenade with ocean views. Seems like the Pearl Cafe will replace Cafe Promenade. I'm good with that. Allure starts 3/4 cruises from Port Canaveral next October. I cannot wait to have an Oasis class on short trips.
  10. If there are two of you in the same household, you can combine. So if you both had a tier3 (Prime) you could get $500 off each person using both certs.
  11. I know they did Signature/Masters cruises in 2019, but I have no idea what to expect. I am booked on the Masters one and am curious myself. I am sure we will have fun.
  12. I didn't post the photos, so I cannot take them down. Direct your request to those that actually posted the photos. I don't share photos of anything that I did not photograph myself. I admit it appears my assumption about your photos was wrong. However, it is quite odd that you would post the receipt, as you have nothing to prove to me, or anyone else on the internet. Anyhow, still not my problem.
  13. No sign of my two Odyssey blocks yet, (Dec 2021/March 2022) but last night UPS did deliver my Freedom block from Feb of 2022. Progress!
  14. Seems like the downside for me would be the inability to keep the room cool while the "balcony" is open. For me, that is the single most important part of the room... the temperature.
  15. Yes... did you see what I quoted? This was about price, not quality. Also, I do agree they are better... however, for me.. they are not $150 better.
  16. If this from experience, or just something you say because you have decided that is what a 3 night cruise is? 3 night cruises are my favorite, and I usually sail on a 3 night once or twice every six weeks or so. (have to get some more booked) I have never seen this "booze" cruise you are referring to. Do you mean rowdy people out by the pool?? Yep seen that, but nothing out of the ordinary from my longer cruises or my CCL cruises. Then again, I am speaking from my own actual experience. I do not drink much alcohol at all, in fact on a 7 day cruise I may have 2 or 3 alcoholic beverages total. I also am not a fan of drunk people and tend to notice when people start acting stupid. It's a rare occasion.
  17. Apparently, the "media" person that runs that blog (Matt) was invited to a Media event in Miami on October 18, for the Icon reveal.
  18. I must have missed that. Was there discussion of splashaway bay being on the boardwalk in front of the infinity pool?
  19. I just ate there in early August, and I do not remember that many TV's in Sabor. I will say I was not looking for them either, so I may have just missed them. Apparently I was oblivious to this. I was there alone, and in this particular case, I was in a bit of a hurry, to get back to the casino. (UGH)
  20. Recently on Mariner for us it was 6pm-9pm for Dinner.
  21. LOL, and I read this comment and chuckled..."The other stand-out structure onboard Sun Princess is The Dome. Inspired by the terraces of Santorini, it is a multi-level covered deck and first-of-its-kind true glass-enclosed dome ever constructed on a cruise ship."
  22. I'm opposite. I loved it, and knew it wouldn't last, so I enjoyed every minute of each of them.
