  1. Usually, I do not care what other people do as long as it does not affect me. However, I have to say, that this is disgusting. I have never thought, nor would I want, to bring food back from a cruise. I'm not sure what is worse.. them actually doing this, or the fact that they filmed/posted/bragged about it knowing no one would care.
  2. Good for you... I think folks should wear what they like, and enjoy themselves. However, if you think the MDR on a Royal Caribbean ship is a "nice restaurant," you probably need to get out more. IMO.
  3. 50+ plus cruises with Royal, and I have never experienced a "mess" that you are describing. I just show up when ready, and have always been seated within 5 minutes or so. Granted, I am usually a party of one or two. So that may be easier than larger parties.
  4. How about just show up at your assigned time... you know, the one you chose. Easy Button needed.
  5. What they need to do is stop making idle threats on the announcements that the person cannot sail if they do not complete the e-muster drill, and actually kick them off the ship if they don't by xyz time.. How many sailings do you think it would take before that spread like wild fire and people took it seriously? This problem would resolve itself within a week or so. I know this, because even though I have never missed an e-muster, I came back to my cabin from the casino, on the first night of a cruise and found a letter telling me that since I missed it, I needed to report to a certain lounge (can't remember which one) at 830pm. Well it was almost midnight at that point. So I called Guest Services and explained they made a mistake and I did complete the drill, and my card was scanned at my muster station. They just took my word for it, and said don't worry about it. I was not expecting that response.
  6. I thought this e-muster on Royal was in place and being tested on a ship or two prior to Covid? I believe it was Symphony or Harmony.
  7. Yep. This is probably where it went wrong.
  8. No not scheduled for today. I am going on Wonder on Sunday, and just happened to be on the Royal website looking at something and noticed their weather alert. Have fun when you go, I love the Independence.
  9. Independence does not return until tomorrow. Then the next cruise is shortened by a day with no stop at Nassau.
  10. Veggie omelette with cheese, tomato juice, coffee, and lots of water. (I will eat 1 slice of bacon if they can find a piece that is not so over cooked/crispy.)
  11. Isn't it amazing that so many Americans believe that their rights (real or percieved) can interfere with the rights of others. Mind blowing. The freedom we have to travel this country, across states lines does not mean we are not required to follow the laws of the jurisdiction(s) we are traveling to or through. Of course they can limit cruise ships, and in no way does that interfere with the rights of American's to travel this country. There is no right that says you must be allowed to arrive across state lines by plane, ship, automobile, bicycle, of any size or shape. Freedom is not a blank check. Too funny. They should file a Constitutional Tort, and get back to us on the outcome of that.
  12. Agree. Even though I did like visiting Key West on a cruise ship, the people in those local communities should get to decide what is best for them.
  13. That has not been true for at least quite a few years, and has been in house with Royal Caribbean.
  14. Yes, you can win the upgrade through Royal Up, even in a casino comp'd room. However, regardless of it being comp'd or paid for, you will get the points for the cabin type that you originally booked in, not where you ended up if upgraded through Royal Up. Hope that helps.
  15. I usually eat in a couple specialty restaurants when sailing. I have not noticed a significant difference between the food and service in these two restaurants on Allure vs. the same restaurants on the other Oasis class ships. Enjoy Allure.
  16. I really like the Odyssey. It is the only Quantum class I have sailed. Don't miss the Book.. some hate it, but I loved it. Cafe 270 is wonderful for a salad or sandwich at lunch, and serves specialty coffee while they are open. Enjoy the Odyssey.
  17. I don't wear mine either. They are on a shelf with the stratum and other blocks that I like to have in my home office, with other cruising stuff. However, the mere idea that I could wear it, and that in itself could annoy the heck out of someone, is making me rethink. I love to aggravate busy bodies.
  18. I don't know what you mean about the old system. I thought it was 1 point per cruise back then, with some opportunities to earn more per cruise. Isn't that basically the same it is now... 1 point per night, with some opportunities to earn more per night? Maybe you are referring to a bunch of short cruises? That would have certainly been beneficial to me if I lived in Florida back then, as I LOVE three day cruises because I do not have to use any vacation time.
  19. Well aware of T&C. Also aware that yes, promises of perks are there to entice spend, but that is another story. Did you read the comment I responded to, because if so you would have seen that I was responding to a “treated like Royalty” sarcastic comment. I stand by my response. As I say? Are you implying it’s something other than money that is spent? I mean, I know I earned mine dirt cheap, but most Pinns get there with a lot of $$ spent.
  20. They probably just want to be treated like they were promised to be treated when they were spending the money to get to Pinnacle. Who gives two flips what cabin a Pinnacle purchases after they are Pinnacle, it's not a requirement of the program to book a certain cabin or higher, it's just a talking point for those who have nothing better to do than whine.. or possibly envy. Who knows. I think most Pinns are okay with the special sailing exceptions like the TA's.. it is expected. It is not expected on regular sailings. Personally, I couldn't care less about the suite lounge, or any other lounge for that matter. I do like CK, but my other status ensures that I will get that even when Pinn's cannot access it.
  21. Yep, charge em. Better food on Carnival vs. Royal in the past, but I have not been on CCL since Dec 2018.
  22. I'd be okay with that. Consume more... pay more. Makes sense to me.
  23. Odd, I have never had a problem keeping track of the drinks in my head. It's not like there is 37 of them per day... at the most it is 6. It's not that hard to say.. "Please use my loyalty coupon for this drink" or "Please do not use my loyalty coupon for this drink." I have yet to have any issue with this working out on every sailing. Wouldn't the guest have known the voucher was being used if they did not get a receipt for a drink they intended to pay for? Why not leave the accountability where it should be... on the guest? Just my thoughts.
