TMobile for us is free data and texting off the ship and .20 a minute almost everywhere. Use ship's wifi plan and Whatsapp on board.

I often forget to log off. The kid people in the I lounge have always added minutes when I forget. They have also assisted with airline checkin and boarding passes on the last full day of cruising.

Actually you do not need to get off to zero count the ship. An assigned meeting with a new seapass or to simply check you in and out along with possibly a covid test for B2B - January is forever so who knows. Spent 2 years in OZ. Would definitely go into town and take the light rail someplace. The other interesting journey - beyond the standard touristy things - ride the hydrofoil to Blacktown and back or freey over to Manly. Lots of things that you could not possibly do in 3 days right in the city. Use your 3 days to get out of town - Blue Mtns for example - and your B2B day more in the city.

Absolutely yes. Shorts, muscle shirts and tops (both men and women) imprinted with sayings that were profane or could be considering insulting. I took my grandchildren on a cruise. The rules were no running or behavior that would cause a crew member to locate me, show up on time for dinner dressed in a CLEAN collared shirt and nice looking long pants - jeans ok. They were 16, 17 and 21. Usually never saw them until dinner on sea days except to say hi when passing by.

Current Transatlantic/Repositioning Conditions...
Arizona Wildcat replied to miXterOB's topic in Celebrity Cruises
How are things in the Atlantic? NOAA has some 200 weather bouys. Things quiet now. TAs are rarely rough because the Captain can vary the ship's course by several hundred miles north or south to avoid storms - look up Great Circle Routes. Have done some dozen TAs. Have had rough seas in the Caribbean, Southern Ocean, the Arctic and Med. Never in the Atlantic. -
Ok where's the free and cheap drinks?
Arizona Wildcat replied to Maplemoose's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Find this discussion interesting and a bit surprising. When we are looking for a cruise - usually about a year +/- out - we call our TA. She lets us know which cabin categories she has access to group cabins. Always Verandas and sometimes Aqua and OV. We choose our cabin. The fare is the same as listed by X for Verandas for a Sail.Only fare but AI is included. Aqua has reduced group fare usually about 10-12% lower that at X website. There are restrictions as you are put into a group. And yes she answers the phone, handles the problems many winge about in long rants, and provides 8-10% in additional OBC. Found her after 4 tries. Guess that means free drinks on every cruise for us. -
Emergency dental treatment option onboard?
Arizona Wildcat replied to Fly and Sail's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Yes. When I lived in Sitka AK there were often 3 ships a day. Probably 2 medical evacs a day and one deceased a week. Only a couple of dental issues a summer. Most dental issues can be dealt with during a port call. In some two years of cruising have had multiple helicopter evacs, alternate ports for medical, and lots of ambulances meeting our ship; but only heard of one dental issue that required passenger to disembark. -
Drinks permitted per visit to bar
Arizona Wildcat replied to mduffles64's topic in Celebrity Cruises
The bartenders are accommodating. Again if I want two drinks I usually simply ask for a double - X pours heavy anyway- and usually don't drink Jack along with a vodka Tonic. Yuck. -
Have you ever transferred ........
Arizona Wildcat replied to Softball20's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Within 30 days ok to transfer. I caution doing it without talking to the person who will be your TA. How accessible are they. Went through several to find a great one who is not with a big box company. -
Spring TA cruisers - What are you MOST looking forward to ?
Arizona Wildcat replied to padgman1's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Making new friends and visiting new places. Not looking forward to flying to FLL. -
The main place that people are picky is right here. Have many cruises on Celebrity and have seen people with sorts, bathing suits and muscle shirts turned away - sometimes firmly. Engage your common sense and wear long pants and a collared shirt. Not hard. As for flip flops, I do not own any footwear except Birkenstocks sandals. I simply usually wear socks. PS - have seen passengers with t-shirts asked to change because the message was vile. Usually profanity.

Complimentrary upgrade from ocean view to veranda
Arizona Wildcat replied to adamrayan's topic in Celebrity Cruises
For new bookings for Ocean View cabins on certain cruises. To answer the OP - NO. Unless you: Cancell and rebook Book an OView cabin You book on one of the cruises where the deal applies -
Your luggage stays on board. If staying in the same cabin you need to do nothing. All on a B2B will be given a time and place to meet and get your new Seapass card. You will most likely not need to leave the ship, but highly suggest taking the free shuttle to town and walking through the old ruins. Civitavecchia is an interesting town

Have looked at the soft drink cans. They have always been before the use by date. With the liquor doesn't really matter. Steward on last cruise shared the list to replenish the mini bars for his 18 cabins. Was very long and a bit of everything.
-
Wish they would change them weekly so as to make them actually exciting
-
FLL uses facial recognition. If everything goes correctly you will be off in 20-30 minutes if you carry your luggage off or wait till about 8:30. Last year there was some sort of incident involving the police that delayed disembarking for about 90 minutes. Hopefully not on your cruise.

We always get them at the port. Hand your bag to the porters and show them your boarding pass and you are good to go. A suggestion- before leaving home write your cabin number in black Sharie on a piece of masking tape. Stick it to your bag. Good insurance for a torn tag and zero cost.

Civitavecchia Debark from a Transatlantic
Arizona Wildcat replied to bikerunner's topic in Italy Ports
The ports forum has literally thousands of posts on getting to Rome. -
Recently we had a promotion that offered $1000 to residents of my home state. Booked two cabins. Received my invoice correct. Other invoice had no address. When it came to final payment they removed the promo credit from the second cabin as they resided in another state. I said to put my FW and the other lady in the other cabin. Response was too late. Read some of the 20 pages of the fine print and they were correct. They refunded my $$. Was told it was my responsibility to call and give Celebrity the correct details for the passengers The problem for the OP if I understand what they did is they booked a promo they were eligible. They got an invoice via email that was not complete. Thus at the time the mistake surfaces and is corrected the booking is repriced at the price at the time of repricing. What makes no sense is the OP says this was a WA resident rate and that they live in WA. Confused. I now always use my TA. They handle stuff like this.

No. But if you love standing on you balcony this probably won't make you happy. The feeling to us was like being in a room with a window open. It also took hours to get the cabin back to the original temperature and humidity levels. We were not impressed

Hmmm. Did the same Princess Cruise in 2022. There were 250 kids under 12 and 250 teens. Lots of running about. Glad it was little ones that ran into me. Holiday and spring break cruises tend to be full! Very full. Did a prior cruise during spring break on X on West Coast. Lots of college age passengers. Fewer kids. Lots quieter. Would not choose either line for holidays or spring break.
