  1. What is your point? In general Cruise Critic has turned into exactly that. For example, a recent Celebrity cruise had some 6 mostly negative reviews and zero positive. We observed things very differently. Many of the negatives such as a cruiser who went to breakfast for about 30-45 minutes and railed that his cabin had not been cleaned are either silly or people looking to gripe. On our holiday Princess cruise service was slow and reviews went on and on about this, problems with the app and an issue with tender tickets. The app having issues? I simply turned on the TV in our cabin. The dinner service was the result of a holiday cruise and about 500 children. Plus remember few people give compliments; while many more like to complain. Same for everything today from cruising, driving in traffic and shopping.
  2. Blade - the first question is if the OBC if from Celebrity which is likely not refundable or your TA which most likely will be refunded to your credit card or given out in cash on the last day if not used on board.
  3. If there are interior connecting doors then you can request they be unlocked.
  4. Again there is a forum on Italy ports that gives hundreds of suggestions. FWIW we used the train.
  5. Lots of issues with tour operators. Most are new and the requirement for insurance is expensive. Few excursions showing on my upcoming cruise. Are they sold out or maybe operators choosing to not sell thru the cruiseline?
  6. You will find things work much better with adjacent tables for 4 and 6. Service when then put two tables together is difficult for the servers and usually very slow. Without a fixed time AND the reservations all linked together even harder. Two adjacent tables will give you the flexibility you said you want. 6:30 is probably the busiest time.
  7. All manner of issues with Captain's Club points. After my last cruise was issued a new number. My old number show as zero points. Followed procedure above and number came back invalid number. Isn't Celebrity IT wonderful.
  8. On a recent TA, all crew were tested before the cruise. Am sure crew is tested if symptoms or close exposure of covid
  9. As long as you have your Captain's Club number or something showing you cruised then yes. You also should login to your account on line. The quite possibly are there.
  10. Always the same answer - if you need to ask if you have enough time to board a flight; you don't. Docking scheduled for 5am doesn't mean disembarking at 5:01 or even 6:00. Then add the 90 minutes before take-off at which time you must have already checked your luggage. As an aside - fly back to the US either directly or with a connection ANYWHERE EXCEPT LONDON.
  11. Didn't you already post almost exactly the same question
  12. I gladly leave my phone in my room most of the time and my seapass in a pocket. That leaves enough hands to carry two drinks.
  13. You are partially correct. There is champagne, prosecco, and sparkling wine at well under $22 and covered with the premium package. Some were covered by the basic package. You will indeed need to see what is offered and how it is priced. There are several websites that give beverages and prices. FWIW, the drink prices on X are absolutely higher than HAL, Princess and NCL. Each cruiseline offers choices. Earlier this month dining on Princess was dreadful to twice very good compared to X. One needs to evaluate the entire experience including the itinerary- most important to me.
  14. Friends cruised on Summit from NJ to Bermuda last July. The ship was at about 50% capacity. The following 6 cruises were sold out. I love to cruise, but unless I lived close to Newark a cruise to only Bermuda? Then 2 nights in Bermuda? Not sure this is representative of what is happening.
  15. Nothing is showing in my cruise planner for April for the last 2 weeks. Have always been able to use OBC in the casino. I received promo chips. Bet $10 and win $10, I received my promo chip back and a $10 regular chip. Thus I had to lose all my promo chips.
  16. That excursion is both weather and operator dependent. If windy, as it often is, the tour cannot be safely operated. Probably cancelled for that reason. To actually reach a glacier the Juneau city bus takes you to Mendenhall where an hour hike - strenuous - gets you up to the foot of the glacier. Best easy glacier walk is just North of Seward. Exit Glacier is a short drive north of town. Easy hike and usually not crowded. As for Skagway - as I said driving you get to see everything from Carcross to Dyea to all of Skagway. Just rent early. Only a few cars. We used Sourdough Rental a few years ago.
  17. And M class ships have Aqua cabins on Deck 11 not on 10. Jim your answer is for the Edge and similar. The OP did not say which ship.
  18. Think you already pretty much know. Want more reviews look at the other hotel booking sites. Booking and Hotels. More reviews there.
  19. Just got off a Princess Cruise. Better menu? Balderdash. Had a steakhouse meal with a COLD "baked" potato. Walked out of Sabatinis hungry as both courses were terrible. Dinner service had filet - but got a piece about 2oz. Waited 45 minutes or longer between courses. It 10 MDR nights had 1 excellent and 2 good meals. Combined with a 90 minute wait for everyone to dine the first 2 nights AND 3 hours to tended everyone into Cabo and Princess is struggling just like the rest.
  20. Definitely varies by individual. DW is always just fine. I often want a light sweater. Also lots cooler if one is under a vent
  21. How many actually pay $109 for a beverage package? AI is lots cheaper.
  22. Guess Deck 2 was already full.
  23. That is great if you are on board, but thousands and thousands of us have an upcoming cruise. I am hoping that the changes in the OV will be modified before our journey.
  24. If I send an email to the address in the post above I get an almost immediate response if my post is about a specific issue. They have been responsive and positive. If I send a general email about for example the changes at the OV, I would not expect a response. If the executive team replied with a call to every email it would take a couple dozen people. I often do receive an email acknowledgement of my message. All in all pretty good.
