  1. I can't answer your specific question, but I can tell you that Puerto Plata and La Romana are on completely different sides of the island, so what is true for PP will have nothing to do with La Romana. Is your ship stopping at both ports?
  2. Meant to say Holland America also does not allow smoking on open decks when bunkering, not Princess. I realize OP was asking specifically about the Caribbean Princess.
  3. This is not an effort to cause the smokers go into the agony of withdrawal. This is because they are bunkering - taking on fuel. Princess is the same, so I imagine it is a fleet wide safety mandate from the parent company.
  4. IMO this is a mistake. Tobago is not Trinidad, and is a wonderful, slower paced, and friendly place. The gardens and architecture are beautiful, as are the beaches. The Nylon Pool is not to be missed. Even Trinidad is fine if you follow common sense traveler rules. Yes, there are a few very vocal opponents of the island on this board, but many thousands of people visit without being robbed or murdered as seems to be the fear of some. I get that it is certainly your choice, but I have enjoyed several visits to both islands on cruise stops, and never felt unsafe, even traveling as a solo female.
  5. If one booked with a Travel Agent, I'm guessing she needs to get involved in the call (?). Or not (?).
  6. The Port Everglades phone app schedule goes out a month. Adventure OS will be at Terminal 19.
  7. Not my next one, but something different. 27 days to and up the Amazon, with several Caribbean stops on the way down and on the way back. Round trip from Ft Lauderdale, so for me, no flight involved. Holland America does this trip just once a year, I am going in Feb 2025.
  8. Thanks for reporting back - I actually have been wondering about you, and everybody else who parked and sailed away, leaving their car. Glad it was not worse for you Was discussing just this morning with a cruising friend how scary it would have been to be on a cruise and see all the rain on the news.
  9. This might not help the OP, but on longer cruises with lots of sea days, they sometimes do a lunch seating. Same offering, but also at a discount.
  10. I also find it highly entertaining. I think anybody with a sense of fun would. I especially love the "and Friends" version where they have the competition. So fun to watch the 3 other chefs standing on the side reacting while one makes his/her course. I've always enjoyed the food, but the show (to me) is the main attraction. If I were a picky eater, or not happy with the main LPC menu for that day, frankly I would not bother. One can get alternate / vegetarian, etc. offerings at the MDR or buffet with no upcharge.
  11. Follow the signs through the pier shopping area. If you can read signs, you do not need a map. You cannot miss the taxi area. The dispatcher will direct you in a taxi going that way, they are very organized.
  12. This always works for me. Save that page with the bag tag on it to a PDF file. Then print as many copies of that as you like. You can of course save the entire edocs as another file as well, if you want to go back and read it.
  13. They have been quite vague "second Quarter, 2023" and "coming soon". Not helpful, I know, but the website is https://www.gobrightline.com/ if you want to sign up for updates. I've seen vids of the airport station, and it looks beautiful.
  14. No stop near Port Canaveral, she'd have to go all the way to the Orlando airport, once that station is open.
  15. vinow dot com posts the ship docking schedules monthly. For April, Harmony is indeed at Crown Bay. As @Ms411 says, it rarely changes, especially with the mega ships. However, there is this source if you want to confirm as you get closer.
  16. I for one don't think you are crazy. That's the one I had on Rotterdam in Feb, and in almost 60 cruises across multiple lines, it was the only one I even considered buying to bring home. I didn't, and wish I had. Good luck - let us know how the robe story ends
  17. I cannot help with taxi cost, as both times I have done the Maracas Beach / Shark and Bake trip, it has been in a shared van, as a ship excursion. I believe most lines offer a version of this. If your ship offers it, it's the easiest way to go over. Just take a photo of your van's license plate. I recall dozens of very similar white vans lined up in the parking lot to return people to PoS. Fortunately, one in our group took note of the make of the van and what our driver looked like when we were dropped off. Narrated (lightly) drive over, 3 or so hours there (enough), and drive back to the ship was in the $40 - $50 range as I recall.
  18. How timely - over on the Celebrity board there is currently a thread about whether or not vloggers/ content creators / YouTubers have any value, and if they are intrusive on ships. Varying opinions, and a fun read. However, I'll keep my opinion of them to myself.
  19. This has been discussed since January. Bonaire has a new 2023 law limiting the number if cruise guests allowed per day. Basically, it translates to just one ship. In Feb, my trip on a HAL ship showed another ship in Bonaire with us on the original schedule. Later, the other ship was bumped to somewhere else (cannot now remember), but we docked. If there are two ships scheduled on a particular day, it seems to be the luck of the draw (from a passenger standpoint - I'm sure they have a system) which ship stays and which one gets re-directed. Sorry you got bumped, I know many book ABC specifically for B, as it is the nicest one.
  20. Why not ask on a Solstice roll call either currently sailing, or boarding soon? I feel certain someone would go up to the salon and ask for you.
  21. Here is facing the other way. They never did have a big wide beach like, say, Aruba. Is this the part that is gone? And where are the "Jettys"?
  22. Here's a photo I took in Feb 2020, looks like the same spot. No difference, really, those big rocks are there to slow erosion.
  23. I agree with @bguppies. I've found that the Number 1 rule when traveling with a group is "Everyone is responsible for their own happiness". Make sure everyone understands and agrees, so that no feelings get accidently damaged. Trying to make everyone happy with an outcome is a setup for disaster.
  24. You certainly didn't offend. 🙂 I saw that you are relatively new here, and yes, since there is so much info, I was simply showing you that each island does have it's own board.
