  1. It's always been open every day for lunch, including embarkation day. By "always," I mean all the cruises I've been on and according to others.
  2. I agree with going as soon as you board to get the time you want. Just FYI, the dates earlier in the cruise tend to fill up more quickly.
  3. It was excellent back in February. They have installed Starlink, and it makes a tremendous difference.
  4. We love Reflection. We've not sailed on Silhouette, but we've sailed on Equinox (which is a virtual twin except for having the hot glass studio instead of Lawn Club). We wouldn't hesitate to sail on either. Even though Reflection has not been fully revolutionized, she has been well maintained and is in great shape. Personally, when in suites, we prefer Michael's over the Retreat Lounge. We also prefer Reflection's Sunset Bar to the one on Equinox (which is the same as the one on Silhouette), but that's a much closer call.
  5. Mine is about 10.75" long, and the base is about 3.75" in diameter. They do a pretty good job wrapping and packing the item on their own, and it's pretty sturdy on its own. You won't need to pack it like it's made of eggshells.
  6. Odd as it may seem, our RS in September 2022 was not redone in the new decor (which is totally fine with me). It was in very nice shape, though.
  7. When we were on Reflection in February, it was Bumbu. It's not bad, but it's banana flavored. They also had Brugal 1888, which was quite good, and I would like to think they could make an Old Fashioned with it.
  8. Folding makes them more robust. Even if you use the plastic holders (like we do), folding makes them easier to handle and slide in the holders. Folding takes nominally more effort than trimming.
  9. I believe it's midnight in the time zone where the cruise departs, but some have reported some variation on that.
  10. I love the Detox smoothie and actually prefer it without ice. It gets too watered down. Gotta make room for more delicious toxins!
  11. That's a very good point. I've not paid terribly close attention to the prices on board since I (nearly) always book beforehand in order to get a slot I want. However, it does seem that the prices are higher, so an on board discount isn't much of an advantage.
  12. The list price does not include the tip, but it will be added while checking out (so you will see the full price before you pay). Onboard spa discounts aren't unheard of at all, but the problem is that slots can be booked up once on board. Obviously, port days are less busy than sea days, and it also seems like more slots are open later in a cruise. You also don't really know what the discount will be for--it's not always a blanket discount and can be more targeted.
  13. I'll just chime in and say that I also do not tip more than what's already added on. That's plenty. I'll also add that I've had much more positive experiences with massages on X ships, and I've probably had 15 massages on 4 different ships since the restart (there's been a lot of OBC going around). I've not felt any pressure to add an extra tip, nor have I been pressured to buy anything. I've also been very happy with the massages I've received, and I cannot recall anyone just shuffling around and wasting time.
  14. We were on Equinox back in September/October, and the food was very good. It also was quite good while on Reflection in February.
  15. We did the Ultimate Caribbean itinerary on Equinox last Fall and loved it. I'd go back and do that again in an instant. I'm afraid I cannot comment on the others.
  16. Thanks for your review! We've not sailed on Silhouette, but we've sailed on a couple of her sister ships and enjoyed them very much!
  17. Exactly. MoveUp is not requried when cabins are available. And, if the difference in fares is very high, then I don't know why anyone should expect the MU bid to be much less when the sailing still is over a month out.
  18. As mentioned, you can easily have a great day in NOLA on your own. You can spend all day in the WWII Museum (two days, really). See if you can get lunch at Galatoire's or Commander's Palace. There is a dress code, but you should be good with what you have on the ship. A drink or two at the Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt Hotel is lovely. The Sazerac House on Canal is a very interesting museum about both cocktails and New Orleans. It's free, but reservations are required (at least, that was the case a couple years ago). It's very easy to walk around. Uber/ Lyft is cheap because everything is close. The trolley is a fun way to get out to the Garden District (beautiful, old area).
  19. That's very true. We sailed on Reflection in February 2022 and had a great sommelier in Luminae, Red. We were very pleasantly surprised to find Red still taking care of Luminae about a year later when we returned to Reflection this past February. He said he was perfectly happy there and has no desire to move to an E-class ship.
  20. Probably the latter. There aren't that many couples treatment rooms (and maybe only 1) on the ship, which means there aren't very many slots.
  21. I've not been on an E-class ship, so I cannot give a fully informed comment. That said, I would strongly consider spending the rest of my life on board Reflection if I were given the choice.
  22. You cannot switch promo chips back to OBC. I asked and got a very clear (and polite) "no." As the other poster mentioned, you may be able to convert them to slot credit, but I don't know about that. If you have even an inkling of an intent do so, I'd ask beforehand.
  23. That's not quite true. Junior Suites do not hear from the Concierge (and don't have access to the lounge, just as SS didn't back when they began). In that sense, only the "higher" suites do.
  24. We're fairly low maintenance, but we've always been happy to have a butler. Something always seems to come up, and it's been wonderful to have a butler help. For example, I recall our very first SIlversea cruise. It was formal night. I put on my tux jacket to head out, went to button it, and . . . the button is gone. I would swear it was there when I packed it, but we don't have a button. I wave off the whole thing--no reason to worry--I can live without a button. We walk out of the room. Our Butler is in the hall and asks if all is well. I make a bit of a joke and say something about how it would be perfect but for a button. It's no joke to her, man! She ushers us back into the room and asks for my jacket. About 10 minutes or so later, she's back with a new button on the jacket. That ain't happening without a butler. There are plenty of other stories where a butler has made our cruise remarkably better, whether by fulfulling a request or anticipating a need (or a bit of both). It's one of the reasons we cruise with Silversea when we do.
