  1. Just to clarify, you would not get the benefits you mentioned if you upgrade via MoveUp. If you simply do a direct upgrade (i.e., call them up and do it then and there), you WILL get those benefits.
  2. Sorry about that! I only meant to say that we had a great time on our December cruise on the Azamara Onward. It was our first with Azamara but not likely our last.
  3. Honestly, I never recall noticing it. 🤣 Shows what happens when you don't look.
  4. Indeed. The closest I've seen was a 4-nighter out of Fort Lauderdale that went over a weekend. It was few months into the restart. I was not at all shocked to see many folks really tying on a bog one, but (even then) no one truly misbehaved. Everyone were in good spirits (however you care to take that).
  5. It sounds more like you are disappointed in your fellow passengers than you are with the Celebrity product. I do agree that the last few years seems to have changed many attitudes as to what is acceptable behavior, and that troubles me for many reasons well beyond cruising. That said, I do believe you need to see your experience through the lens of sailing during Spring Break and over what has become a binge drinking "holiday." We were just on 7-night Caribbean cruise on Reflection (2/26-3/5), and I saw almost nothing of what you mentioned despite it being a full ship. I've been cruising for nearly 28 years and cannot recall a single one when I didn't see someone be rude or someone so drunk they barely could stand, and this last one was no exception, but those were very isolated incidents.
  6. I would not recommend waiting until you are on board to book specialty restaurants unless you are buying a multi-night package. While they do hold back some reservations for onboard bookings, you may as well go ahead and book them beforehand to know what you have (and get what you want). Even if you have to book a time that is not ideal, I would rather have that in hand and then try to change it once on board. You do not have to make reservations for open ("select") dining, but it helps a great deal to avoid waiting. If you have a reservation, you can get in the "reservation" line to either be seated immediately or to get a beeper. If you don't have a reservation, then you are in the longer, slower "no reservation" line that can be something of a hassle. For activities, you may already have a daily schedule available in your app. If not, one likely will show up soon or someone may post something. You also can look for reviews and past threads. Have fun! Millenium is a great ship, and Alaska cruises are wonderful.
  7. Even if there are plans to start it back up, I doubt it would start back up within the next few weeks.
  8. I don't recall every getting any whether it was a couple weeks ago or (nearly) a couple years ago. We didn't ask, either. I always bring a small tube of Blistex, and that works for me.
  9. If you were just dying for a suite, you could look at that (either through MoveUp or a direct upgrade--direct upgrade being more advantageous and may be similar pricing). However, it sounds like you have a pretty nice situation on your hands right now. I wouldn't even consider moving up to anything under a "higher" suite.
  10. I am not aware of anyone who requires anyone to remove any religious headwear. Well, I recall a story about Vlad the Impaler, but I don't think he's making Celebrity's policy (although the revolutionized furniture may be evidence to the contrary).
  11. The Martini Bar is open late. The late night dancing is up at the Sky Lounge, and there sometimes is a pool party that can run late. Whether anyone else is there can vary from cruise to cruise and night to night.
  12. In the past, one would not ask a lady to remove her hat indoors. However, that rule came about when ladies' hats were part of her outfit, and it took some doing to put them on (and off). They often were pinned on. I agree that there is little to no reason to extend that rule to baseball caps, visors, etc.
  13. Those aluminum bottles do work fine when refilling. The caps seal tightly.
  14. It's more along the lines of Ensemble on S-class. Full bar, quieter atmosphere, live music from time to time. It's not a sponsored bar like World Class, so you actually have a broader selection, but it likely will not have the special ingredients that are at World Class.
  15. Yes, it's impossible to say. You may as well make your reservations, though. It might work out, or you might be able to change.
  16. We got off two weeks ago today, and I want back on!
  17. Please do keep in mind that the tables you want are very few and among the most desired tables on the ship. I'm confident that the Maitre d' is asked for those tables all the time for any number of reasons. While I empathize completely and sympathize to a degree with your husband's condition (I have some hearing loss, myself), you really are asking a lot of the Maitre d'. Have you offered to meet halfway?
  18. If the cruise is next week, the times in the cruise planner should be accurate.
  19. I do not recall any last October.
  20. You can go straight to the check in time and choose one in the app, and you can then come back with everything else another time. On the website, though, you have to enter all the info before you even get to the check in time. Use the app.
  21. I'm very glad to hear that. It's something we wanted to like, but it was not set up as you described when we were there. We look forward to seeing it again.
  22. We weren't impressed with that option on Onward. The lighting was rather harsh. There was no music--only the hum of the lights. We walked through there thinking that it might be nice to eat outside, but it felt more like the outside of an industrial complex than by the pool on a cruise ship. It was a much different atmosphere than at lunch but not at all in a good way. We were much, much happier dining outside at the buffet.
  23. (Happy birthday!😀🥂)
  24. Then likely will enjoy Silversea. Indeed, there are no "exclusive" areas on the ship (other than your cabin, of course). There are some restaurants that require a reservation and some that require an upcharge, but that's as "exclusive" as it gets. The lowest category room still is quite nice. Everyone has a butler. Everyone has the same MDR, bar, lounge, etc. We will upgrade to a veranda, and we might kick in a few more bucks to have our room in a partcular spot, but we've never really thought to go beyond that. (The suites are VERY nice, though, should you decide to go that way). We've had little problem signing up for included excursions, but we have had to go to our second choice from time to time. They do fill up, so get on it. We have noticed that they will try and add more "editions" (for lack of a better word at the moment) if something fills up, but that's not always possible.
