World Cruise news flash, entertainment goes ‘Back to the Future’ with the introduction of the Silversea Ensemble on the Shadow. Three male and three female dancers and two vocalists with a 4 piece live band. So no more crappy backing tracks and welcome to an updated version of what Jean Ann Ryan was doing all those years ago before the Artists came along.

Ouch!, those are the sort of poor speeds Standard Wifi has been providing for the last 3 years! Hope your cold has improved.

I’ve checked it on the Whisper, Shadow and Moon over the last year or so, standard, averages about 1.5MB download, maybe 2 in the middle of the night. Premium, anywhere between 2.5MB and as high as 4. It’s not wonderful, but it’s better than nothing. BTW I have not yet had to pay for premium.

Thanks for taking the time post @ronrick1943, it’s always useful to get different opinions, especially from newbies.

The whole point of SS is that you spend extra money purely for suite space and perhaps position. The ‘perks’ for an Owners Suite such as included dinner in La Dame and premium Wifi are available to others if you wish to pay for them. You shouldn’t get better service just because you paid for more space. Unless I’m mistaken @ronrick1943didn’t say he paid again for La Dame.

This should be deducted from your booking cost and not applied as OBC. You should insist on it being applied correctly!

We come from a non tipping culture, thankfully as yet untainted by our cousins across the pond. Our rule of thumb on tours and guides is: Good tour and knowledgeable guide, we tip. Poor tour but good guide, we still tip, with a poor guide we don’t tip. @ronrick1943you have to remember its personal and cultural. As a long standing SS cruiser the quality of the beef has been a bugbear of mine since before the Pandemic. It used to be a bit hit and miss, but generally good. Since 2021 the quality has been average to poor with one or two examples of bloody awful.

There is plenty of reporting appearing on ‘V’.

You will almost certainly need to organise that in advance with SS.

When you get onboard go and speak to the senior receptionist or the GRM and they will arrange for you. It may depend on the port and the timing involved, I.e. a couple of days warning. Be prepared to pay in cash as they cannot always put it on your account. And beware, some Port agents charge a fee to arrange. For the first time ever, in Spain, the Port Agent charged me an extra 15E to organise some roses.
