  1. I managed to get a list and a kidney from Monsieur Le Blanc last year, and boy did it taste good 😊
  2. This was the sweeties on the Moon in October
  3. Surprise, surprise. Still no official response to the ‘data breach’ although the U.K. MD has promised a response to at least one concerned guest by next Tuesday.
  4. Bet she hasn’t got anything to say about rescheduling cruises with loads of sea days, or about the recent data breach.
  5. It’s location, location, location.
  6. Not impressed. If they wont answer emails try Twitter.
  7. It makes a nice change on the older ships where it’s more atmospheric and less cramped, if you have OBC to use. Otherwise not really worth it.
  8. That’s correct. It’s a bit of a repeat of the Moon crossing in Nov 21, which itself replaced a cancelled Dawn crossing.
  9. All the suites on the Shadow have good sized bath tubs.
  10. I wouldn’t hold my breath, after the 2021 data breach BM promised to give details of what exactly occurred. Guess what, nothing!
  11. It won’t let you in now, but it still hasn’t terminated the existing sessions. That is serious amateur hour for any self respecting IT professional.
  12. Thanks for your excellent and thoughtful travelogue @ggo85. Enjoy your day in Lisbon and safe travels home.
  13. Mea Culpa, the website actually showed the P2P reduced price based on the D2D price, so rather a cheeky misrepresentation IMHO. It was only a discount of £200.
  14. I appreciate that we come from a an older demographic than @ggo85and have been cruising for 30 years, however we graduated from Princess Cruises to Silversea to get away from most of the suggestions above. For us Silversea’s USP’s are what attract us and the long downward trend to becoming another American dominated mid market line are what give us nightmares.
  15. You might look at the Dawn, Lisbon to Ft Lauderdale in Nov 2023 if you want a warmer and more southerly crossing.
  16. Well the Venetian Society cruise in September this year is currently showing as £1300 per person cheaper than SS on one of the big U.K. discounters, that is serious discounting. Why on earth would anyone book it direct.
  17. Thanks @ggo85for your travelogue. If you give the MD or one of the Head Waiters 24 hours notice, and it’s available, they will produce almost anything that you wish for. For instance, if you like hot Foei Gras it can be provided for lunch or dinner.
  18. It’s going to be christened the Silver Noseadays 😎
  19. Sailing out under Tower Bridge is magic, however the Wind is now an expedition ship, which means no CD and no proper entertainment. It also means that most stop will be serviced in Zodiacs, no tenders as these are now only used as lifeboats. Other than that it’s sort of 250 versus max 600 guests, a main dining room v a number of different restaurants. You will enjoy either.
  20. AT1's (Additional Tier 1) are a special class of bond that confers a right to convert into shares at some point, sometimes called Coco's. The Swiss Markets Authority (Finma) has used a clause to trigger a complete write-down (17.3B$) of these but is protecting the shareholders (to a small extent!). Because of what the Swiss have down its likely to light a fire under all AT1's and is bound to have a further ripple effect.
  21. I wouldn’t normally post here but I cannot think of a more appropriate place, so this is “sockgate” from a nameless Silversea ship.
  22. That’s mainly because it’s a long way from the States and too far for many Americans to travel to. We’ve been travelling to the Seychelles since the early 80’s and apart from the occasional World Cruise visit it’s rare to hear an American accent.
  23. Not Vistas but there were Terrace Suites on one side of deck 5. If I remember correctly they were changed when the boutique was remodelled some years back.
  24. We first met Captain Zanello on the Muse 6 years ago and have sailed with him more than once since COVID. He is the most personable of the new generation of SS captains.
