  1. True on bookings made before I think March of 2023. Any non-refundable deposit reservations made in North America after that point are entirely non-refundable. If you cancel you will lose the entire $960 CAD. You can still move the ship/sail date for $100 pp change fee.
  2. Neither of these categories have tubs. Only shower. On Celebrity only Suites have tubs. If you do a move up to a Suite it's not uncommon to get assigned an accessible sky suite which will only have a shower and no tub. If you absolutely require a tub I wouldn't do a MoveUp bid.
  3. If you have no beverage package and are in a suite you only get free drinks in the Retreat lounge, not in Luminae or on the sun deck. You will want to keep your beverage package and wifi.
  4. Many carriers allow seats to be booked before payment, but it has to be done by the Flights By Celebrity agents. I know this is true for United, American and Delta.
  5. Are you sure it's not on the receipt they emailed you. Look for the words "Record Locator" There are usually 2, one says Carrier. That's the one you use on the Airline site.
  6. First Windstar cruise is just over 30 days out. Should I be receiving anything from them in addition to the email "documentation" we received for each passenger? We received this a couple of weeks ago and after a couple of phone calls it's now includes everything we had booked. Is this all we need for boarding? I have filled out the online immigration/household information under My Windstar. Do we just get luggage tags at the port?
  7. This is what I don't understand with Celebrity of recent. If the supplies are onboard then why aren't they available at point of service. Sailing last month in Retreat, asked for Champagne, was offered the $5/bottle stuff said no I'd like the French one from the premium package, told not available, asked for Chandon, not available. Bartender did go to the Cellar Master and retrieved something drinkable. The next day was in the Sky Lounge and they had Chandon so I asked the Retreat bartender and he did get it a day later. About day 5 he produced Montaudon for the rest of the sailing. Even if it was just loaded (which I don't believe) then it should have been available on the second day. I really think they are playing the supply chain issues card as a way to limit consumption of the premium products people have paid for.
  8. Yes it's double points for solo
  9. It's covered here https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/onboard-casinos
  10. So this OBC is not refundable if not used then? Glad I got my TA to apply what he was giving me to my final payment!
  11. Also coming up on my first Windstar sailing. I have booked a couple of excursions in advance but have quite a bit of OBC. Someone said I could have them cancel them onboard and rebook with OBC. Anyone have experience with this. If this works does the cancelled $$ get refunded to original CC or does it go as refundable OBC?
  12. I know how it happened. I clicked on one of those stupid pop ups on the web page enticing me with some OBC on my next cruise by supplying my email address. It didn't say it was registering me for Captains Club. My real Captains Club number had the email that both me and DW share. That's another issue as they will only send emails to one CC member on the shared email. Finally I got someone to move my private email from CC #2 to CC #1 and then delete CC #2
  13. The ships have email. There is no way they can't contact the ship pretty quickly.
  14. Going on first Windstar cruise in Jan. Here is what they say on the topic in their Setting Sail brochure. I was pleased with these guidelines. Cell Phone Service In order to maintain Windstar’s atmosphere of casual elegance and intimate retreat, we ask guests to consider the following cell phone courtesy guidelines: • Cell phone service is intended primarily for guests’ use in the privacy of their own stateroom or suite. • Talking on cell phones is discouraged in public areas such as dining areas or lounges, and guests are asked to set their phone’s ringer to vibrate when in public areas We have been party to multiple Facetime calls on our recent sailings in the Retreat lounge, MDR and Oceanview.
  15. I had this situation. It took several years to straighten out with several calls to Captains Club. 1 was Preview 1 was Zenith
  16. They are very close. People are generally respectful wrt chatting. If the original exchange is not continued they pretty much understand you don't want to chat.
  17. Aqua and Concierge are the same size on M class. Veranda are a little over 20 sq ft smaller. All balcony cabins on M class have shower only. Suites have tub/shower combo. Oh, maybe you were talking about Aqua Sky Suites which are 240+ sq ft and do have tub/shower, but also have access to Luminae which I would value more than Blu for service level alone. And to answer the OP's question $10-$15 pp/pd.
  18. Is there a way to see specific cabin open or are you just seeing categories not available. New to Windstar. We are doing Auckland to Tahiti in January as our first experience.
  19. Abdul, Juan and Dario and the head chef (Italian) certainly keep the dining experience top notch on this ship. We have done 54 days with them this year.
  20. Drinks during the happy hour (5-7) are unlimited so you can have whatever you want at the bar and when leaving you can ask for a couple of cans of water to take to the room.
  21. I agree that 2 bags are probably enough but there is a 3 bag package which might be more advantageous.
  22. Why do you think things are changing. There have been isolated reports over the years of overbooking. Most times they are resolved before the sailing. In this case something happened and it ended up being a disaster at the pier. I also read somewhere that it happened to be all people local to the pier that were denied as I guess they didn't want to be liable for return flights/hotels etc. So if you live local to the departure port I might worry a bit more. In Nov 2019 I personally had booked a Aqua GTY on Summit about 3 weeks before the sailing. About a week before I my TA got a call from Celebrity which they transferred to me. They had overbooked Aqua. They offered me a downgrade to Concierge with a $500 refund and let me pick a great C1 cabin and assured me I could still eat in Blu. When I got onboard they had also put all the AQ cabin amenities in the room. I could have refused the offer and they would have just offered it to others until someone accepted. I felt I got a great deal with about a 25% discount.
  23. DW does milk but no sugar, flour, rice, potatoes etc. They tend to not understand the difference between no sugar and no sugar added. They make her a standing order of sugar free Chocolate Mouse. It's just heavy cream, coco powder and Splenda. They did this on our first cruise after she told waiter no to any deserts. He insisted to find something she could enjoy. That was 60+ Celebrity sailings ago.
