  1. Have not stayed in this specific cabin. It is a standard balcony category cabin in a nice location, close to the aft stairs/elevators and laundry room. Balcony will be small, 9ftx4ft. There are cabins directly above and below. It is not a connecting cabin.
  2. This is a good question. If Princess considers the upgrade a service package then you probably lose it. If Princess considers the upgrade to now be an upgraded fare then I would think that the entire fare is now subject to the cancellation provision timeline and becomes part of an insurance claim if you need to cancel. You should ask fore a revised invoice from Princess which indicates the total fare paid.
  3. 22 inches wide. Mini Suites are standard staterooms. Decorations should be less than 22 inches. "Please ensure that your mobility device meets the following specifications: Maximum device width: 22” for standard staterooms, 31” for wheelchair-accessible staterooms"
  4. If you can handle the smell you can smoke cigarettes in the cigar lounge.
  5. No. They embark/disembark in Brooklyn. If you happen to be on one of the few cruises that has NYC as a port of call then that ship may dock in Manhattan on the Hudson River. Why can't Princess just tell their customers where they dock? They know, why can't their customers know directly from them rather than from other sources?
  6. Are they on board now? If not, then tell them to meet outside the terminal at say 8:30 or 9:00. They would have to arrange with passenger services to get a disembarkation time about 1/2 hour prior to the pick up time to allow for them to get through immigration and pick up their baggage. If they are on board right now then you have to contact them and ask their disembarkation time. Standard disembarkation usually begins around 7:30am and runs until 9:30am with groups of passengers leaving around every 10 minutes. Note that there isn't much space at the terminal to park and wait. You may have to park elsewhere.
  7. What is being mentioned is that Princess' posted position is no plastic bottles, and that position is at least in part the result of legal action by the courts. It's obvious that Princess is not enforcing its plastic beverage bottle rules. Also obvious is that Princess is using their own plastic bottles, lots of them. Will Princess change its enforcement, its rules, or its own behavior in the future? Will they be back in court again on this and maybe other issues? No one knows.
  8. Included if you book the plus or premier fare.
  9. Believe the answer is no. Affogato is mainly a cookie and gelato with espresso or some liqueur pored over it. It's mainly a food item and not a beverage. Food items are excluded from the beverage package. The package excludes and is not combinable with other Programs, Promotions, Onboard Specials, or Events such as Wine Tastings, Chef’s Table, Buckets of Beer, Specialty Dining cover charges, or food items for sale such as ice cream, etc.
  10. Yes they do. But believe that the move to restrict, or at least intend to restrict, carry on single use plastic bottles was made as a small part of ordered compliance to environmental judgement against Princess.
  11. Basic reason is getting rid the of plastic waste. Princess changed their rules after an environmental court decision forced the issue.
  12. Not correct. "Premium" balcony category cabins on Grand Class ships, such as the Crown, mid ship deck 10. These have the 9ftx9ft half covered balconies. Aft facing on decks 8,9,10 & 11. These have various sized balconies depending on the deck and location. Also note that there are many cabins on deck 10 forward and aft which the 9ftx9ft balconies and are identical to the mid ship ones designated "premium." On Royal class ships it is different. I don't see any balcony category cabins at the stern. The ones there are deluxe balcony cabins with various sized balconies depending on the deck. The deck plans are your friend. They tell the stories, ship by ship.
  13. Misleading, not full disclosure. Not all balcony cat. cabins across the fleet designated "premium" have larger balconies. There are many non premium balcony cat. cabins that also have larger balconies. Best way is to do your homework and search the deck plans, forgetting the misleading word "premium."
  14. The limit is 1 x 750ml free of corkage on boarding per adult passenger, which means up to 4 bottles/cabin if there are 4 adults in the cabin. Yes, corkage is charged on boarding, or in the DR if you carry one of your free bottles to the DR.
  15. A future cruise deposit is individual. You purchase it on board and it is good for a future booking two years from the date of purchase. When it is time to book the FCD is the full deposit for the individual. When applied that person also receives OBC, amounts depend on length of cruise and category of cabin. Did you have an FCD for each of the 1st two passengers in the cabin? If yes, the FCD(s) should be designated to be used as the deposits at the time of booking. Then each of the 1st two passengers would cover the entire deposit with their $100 FCDs. Regarding booking on line. I'm not certain how to apply FCD(s) when booking on line, or if it is even possible. We always used a Travel Agent. Others have booked direct by calling their Personal Princess booking contact. Suggest you try to call Princess' booking line, not the customer service line, to reach a personal contact and explain what happened. Maybe they can help.
  16. 1st cruise from Galveston is not until December 2022. I think you need to ask the TA what a transfer will cost. Would think it could be different depending on which airport. Princess charges per person. Even if it is $20/pp that is $120. I would look into a private car service for 6. Should be around that cost, maybe less, and much more convenient.
  17. Basically it isn't the citizenship of the person booking it is the address. Princess generally allows bookings for US, Canada, Puerto Rico, residents through US based travel agents. There might be some additional locations like USVI, Mexico, but not certain. Some people residing in Europe have been able to book through US based TAs using a US address. Example, person resides in Europe, family resides in the US. Once booked the passenger will be able to board, providing all documentation is in order, including proper passport and proper visas, if required. Don't believe the ship's staff checks or cares how the sailing was booked. I don't think either one of the OPs points would happen.
  18. It does look like E630 is over the Crown Grill Kitchen. Crown Grill closes around 11pm and should not have noise overnight unless they are using that area for other food preparation. There is also a life craft right outside. They could be working there. Interested to know.
  19. The flaw was a) the opening was a waste of valuable Lido deck space, b) standing on the skywalk and looking inward one could actually see into cabins on decks 15 and 14, and c) one had visibility of all the balconies in that area. A major design blunder. The skywalk itself is a gimmick. How could the Princess execs not see this and use their money elsewhere in the build?
  20. The Sky, Enchanted and Discovery have decking to the curve of the skywalk. The others still have the opening.
  21. We received, chocolate strawberries, bottle of nice quality champagne, visit to the bridge, special seats and presentation at the Captain's Circle gathering which includes ordering just about any drink you want with special service, and maybe one more item that I can't remember.
  22. Yes, missed that one. No embarkation allowed. In any case there is no excuse for Princess not informing their customers which pier they will use. Certainly they know.
  23. Disappeared after covid. Is no more.
  24. Yes, there is a late October P/C. cruise in 2023.
  25. Believe the poster is on a Coral Princess world cruise which stops in New York. When in New York it disembarks and embarks passengers for the next segments. The Coral Princess is the only ship and itinerary I can find that has NYC as a port of call. No matter. Princess has to book pier assignments well in advance of arrival. Princess does know where the ship will dock. They don't just pull into New York Harbor and ask should we sail up the Hudson or go over to Brooklyn? Why not just tell their customers where they will dock? There is no reasonable explanation why Princess continues to confuse its customers with Brooklyn or Manhattan. This is just poor service which has been going on for decades. It is time for Princess to correct this simple issue which they created. Excellent customer service is a stack of little excellent service details. Princess has failed with this very simple detail.
