  1. Swimming shorts, regular shorts, long slacks, long sleeve shirts - yes Thermal underwear - no Any weather site can provide you with the weather forecast at different locations. Bring layers and rain jackets.
  2. It is expensive. look at these sites: https://www.luggageforward.com/partners/princess-cruises/
  3. Is L.A. the first U.S. port after visiting another country, example Mexico? If so, then you will have to leave the ship to go through an immigration passport inspection, then re-board. Sometimes immigration comes on board and you actually don't leave the ship. It is done as a group. You will not be able to just hang on the ship. You will receive instructions in your cabin. This immigration procedure has nothing to do with covid testing nor does it effect changing of cabins.
  4. Yes, anything on board with the exception of purchasing future cruise deposits. If you do not have a fare which includes gratuities your credit balance (OBC) will be used up in 3 or so days.
  5. To add. Traffic on weekdays heavier than on Saturdays and Sundays.
  6. Look up the date here https://hawaii.portcall.com/#!?tab=2
  7. Where is the turn around day? If it is in the U.S. then there are immigration procedures which have to be followed. Moving cabins. -Speak with your cabin steward an the new cabin steward. -There will be information provided to you. read it carefully. -Hang as much as you can on hangers in the closet. These items will be moved hanging and will be hung in your new cabin. -Place other items in your luggage and leave in the cabin. The luggage will be moved to your new cabin. -Remove items from your cabin safe. Ask your new steward if you can place them in the safe. Occupants should be out of their cabin by 8am -Your on board accounts will roll over and there will be one invoice on disembarkation day. -For the future when booking b2bs it is a good practice to select a cabin for all legs of the cruise and then have your booking marked "no upgrade."
  8. -Your ship will dock at Red Hook in Brooklyn -Earliest non-self disembarkation would be around 8am, maybe a little earlier -If your cruise is one way from Quebec City to Brooklyn then you will pass through U.S. immigration at the first port of call and there will be no immigration in Brooklyn. -If your cruise is a RT from New York then you will have to go through immigration in Brooklyn. This may take 15 to 30 minutes. -Taxis are all parked outside the terminal. -Drive time to Times Square is around 30 to 45 minutes. Can be longer with traffic. -It will be tight timing. Remember it is normal to tip taxi drivers in the U.S. -Suggest you take early walk off where you wheel all your own luggage. Early walk off starts around 7am. It is much quicker, no searching for luggage, quicker through immigration (if required). Less traffic earlier in the morning.
  9. Unlimited specialty & brewed coffees are included with both the Premier and Plus packages. Trading your mini bar for coffee packages would be a duplicate waste. Better choice would be a bottle of wine that you can bring to dinner, or canned sodas. Bottles of wine and canned sodas are not coved by the fares. If you purchase wine by the bottle or canned sodas you will receive a 25% discount.
  10. Actually she is scheduled to be home ported in San Diego from her first sailing on September 1st until she sails to Japan in mid February. The port schedule can not be correct.
  11. Probably will be loading supplies, crew and USCG inspections. Don't expect she will stay docked the entire month. Too expensive. Will probably move to another location until she returns for the September 1st sailing.
  12. Maybe. Could also be someone has to be airlifted for a medical emergency. Happened to our ship a few years ago off the coast of Mexico.
  13. It is very consistent. Odd numbers are starboard side, even numbers are port side, 100s are forward, 700s are aft. The numbering system allows emergency personnel to locate and isolate cabins when required.
  14. The first number in the cabin refers to the fire section. C426/427 are in the 400 fire section, C501/502 are the first cabins in the 500 fire section. There should be fire doors between them and the ship construction has the entire section separated on all decks. You will see the same between all sections, 200s to 300s, 300s to 400 and so on.
  15. I have participated in these lunches. The head waiter just reserves a bunch of tables near each other. They could be various sizes. Speak with the head waiter on boarding day.
  16. MDR. Agree with Caribill. 3 tables of 6 or 7. With large tables you can only speak with the few people sitting next to you. Service is also slower. Both smaller tables and larger tables have one waiter and one ass't waiter. If one person at your table is a slow eater the waiters wait until that person completes their course before they serve the next course. Better chance that would happen with a large table. Crown Grill tables typically hold up to 6. There may be some larger tables. You should speak with the head waiter on boarding day about your seating arrangements.
  17. Sterling Steakhouse sitting area is located in the aft starboard aft section of the buffet area. This area is closed off in the evening for Sterling Steakhouse seating. Menu selections are not from the buffet. They are prepared similar to the Crown Grill. Ambiance is lacking. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/Onboard_Experience/Sterling-Steakhouse-Menu-Sample.pdf Sabatini's is a small restaurant on deck 7. Nice. It would be my choice. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/ships-and-experience/food-and-dining/sabatinis-trattoria/sabatinis-trattoria-main-menu.pdf
  18. Bottom Line. Best to carry on, no issues.
  19. There is no charge for the room service itself. Some items do have a charge, example $3 for a pizza. Pizza id free on deck by the Lido Pool and you can carry it away, or you can visit Gigi's for waiter served pizza meal (free), no take away there. Using Ocean Now you can order on your app or via the cabin TV for delivery anywhere on the ship. You can also order drinks delivered to your cabin or anywhere on the ship. If you have the plus or premier drinks that are included with the package can be ordered.
  20. Long Beach and San Pedro are two different ports about 20 minutes apart by car in different cities. Princess uses the World Cruise Center in San Pedro where there are two piers. Sometimes Princess has to use the 3rd Outer Harbor Pier no. 46. When disembarking you will have to go through the non-USA immigration lines. With early walk off the lines should not be very crowded and you should go through quickly. Assuming that you are flying into L.A. a day or two early. Unless you have some activities/touring planned for downtown L.A. would suggest that you transfer directly to San Pedro upon arriving. Nice hotels are the Double Tree and the Crown Plaza. You can also stay across the bridge in Long Beach where there are some nice hotels. Hotels in San Pedro have shuttles to the ship. From Long Beach you would have to take a cab/Uber. Remember that when paying cab fare in the U.S. the passenger generally leaves a tip. When in San Pedro the tour of the Battleship Iowa is a nice experience. You have to be able to walk up and down steep staircases (navy ladders).
  21. Princess believes that they are doing you a favor moving you closer to the center of the ship. They may also require adjacent cabins, including your original cabin, or a cabin across the hall from an inside for another passenger group. Princess booking process defaults to "Upgrades will be accepted." If you don't want an upgrade have your booking marked "No Upgrade." "No Upgrade" is the best chance of staying in your original booked cabin. Good for b2bs.
  22. I have seen Schweppes tonic water, various club sodas, Perrier water and other sparkling waters.
  23. Club Class DR is deck 6 DaVinci, Starboard Side. Walking will be half the length of the ship. You must walk on deck 7 or above.
  24. All Princess ships have self service laundries. Most cost $3 wash, $3 dry. Irons are free. Recently some ships, yours, have not been charging for self service laundry. Elite loyalty level on Princess receive free laundry service. No limit. Usually turn around time is 3 days, but can be shorter.
  25. Lobby Bar. Medallion App. There may also be other locations on the Lido Deck.
