  1. hopefully it does cruises out of NYC like what the original Mardi Gras was suppose to do back in 2020 before those plans got scrapped
  2. it is iconic that they are a ton of posts about this
  3. is this is a sit down restaurant or is at the buffet area like seafood shack on some ships?
  4. there is a common phase that many hands make light work food service people will still be cooking and preparing meals for the ship yard people and contractors doing work housekeeping will most likely help out with basic manual tasks like move a thing from a to b or help unbox things that come onboard some will be assigned a fire watch task where you stand with a fire extinguisher to make sure fire does not start. Check out chris wong youtube videos about this.
  5. it seems like they got charged the al la carte price instead of using the package or they had the package and already used to the meals so now they have to pay the al la la carte at the restaurant, tell them that you are using the package so they know and they can also check if you used up your package or not
  6. I am sailing on the Venezia in a few week. On dst day, the ship will be in St Lucia that does not have dst and is in the atlantic time zone. I wonder when the ship will change times
  7. i use a folded piece of paper to turn on the power. anything that can fit in the slot will work
  8. Older ships is usually the swipe style by inserting the card in the slot on the door newer ships has NFC reader where you tap the card to the reader on the door
  9. On the booking page on the right side click on VIEW PRICE BREAKDOWN and then a new menu will appear with all of the the breakdown of the fare, taxes and free at sea gratuities
  10. i noticed the studio lounge always has cookies. is this going away too?
  11. they are folding bikes that take up half the space of a regular bike
  12. i always bring a water bottle and some snacks when i get off the ship in the ports of call
  13. Yes that is still the case. Norwegian is far far behind with this
  14. looking at the damage it will buff out since its mostly paint scrapes. the bigger damage is internal with the hull dented and banged up. going to need lots of dent pullers
  15. a dry dock is like taking the ship to the local mechanic shop. when i take my car to the shop, they estimate the repair is only taking 2 days. during removing and replacing things, it turns into a bigger job that will take much longer. the same thing can happen to the ship .
  16. Royal coco cay island in the bahamas is getting hit hard with very strong storms. it got so bad they had to order everyone back to the ship in the afternoon
  17. tomorrow the ship is suppose to go half moon cay. Ship AIS data shows it is going directly to nassau are you skipping half moon cay due to that delay or due to weather?
  18. These drys dock is legally mandated by the various ship organizations and is part of the overall maintenance due to her age, they need to be done every few years to inspect the hull and other mechanical systems. This is out of carnival control and will still need to be done if carnival wanted to get rid of the ship newer ships typically need to be dry docked every 5 years and older ships is around 3 years. if you look at the dry dock history, you will see this 3 year pattern.
  19. i wish carnival can deliver the vifp gifts and waters to your room like what used to do before back in the day i am always surprised when i sail on Royal and Norwegian who can place the water, chocolate strawberries, loyal gift in your room on embarkation day
  20. full list of ships is on the ncl website: https://www.ncl.com/downloads/ship-guides
  21. you dont need to make reservations for the main dining room before the cruise. you do this onboard the ship. they will be no issues going to dinning room on embarkation day
  22. How is this for the escape?: https://www.ncl.com/sites/default/files/Ship_Map_ESCAPE_06142022.pdf
  23. for about a year or so, Norwegian has been in the habit of withholding valuable information like this until after final payment so that you are limited with the changes you can make to your booking. basically your only option is either go ahead with the cruise or be prepared to spend extra money making changes to travel plans This is why these types of topics is coming up now because final payment for these cruises is quickly approaching as Norwegian requires final payment 120 days from sail date
