If he tests negative, we won’t need the letter. But the test is on Saturday, so there will be no way to get a letter from the doctor after we are tested. That is where Plan B (online source) comes into play. He has another, unrelated form to take to the doctor anyway, so we would like to combine these two things, but I am afraid the timing won’t work.

Is there a minimum amount of time required between the positive test result and obtaining a Certificate of Recovery? Positive PCR test result - June 7, Tuesday Last day of showing symptoms - June 9, Thursday Next cruise - June 20, Monday Test scheduled (hoping for negative) - June 18, Saturday The positive test was 13 days before cruising, meeting the 11-90 day requirement. Not sure about the acceptable date of the certificate and limited access to family doctor because of the weekend. Plan B is to obtain a certificate from an online source, again unsure of timing.

Just an FYI (NOT a thread/debate about dress code)
ZoeyVictoria replied to Dreamer333's topic in Princess Cruises
It was enforced on the Caribbean Princess on the May 28 sailing, a polite reminder that shorts were allowed on the first and last nights only. -
RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)
ZoeyVictoria replied to John&LaLa's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I just received the fourth email for the 6/20 Independence sailing. Still not interested. They are quite persistent. -
Indy 3 Day - Unlimited Dining Experience 🐷

What did you do to that poor pin? The bottom edge looks like it went for a spin in the washing machine 😂 -
Covid Nightmare Wonder

I think part of the allure of specialty dining is the service in a nicer atmosphere than the MDR. If it were me, I would not order anything from specialty restaurants because it is not going to taste the same at room temperature anyway and I wouldn’t want to risk giving them an excuse to not refund the UDP. -
Carnival Freedom June 2 and 6 cancelled
ZoeyVictoria replied to charliesdad63's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We are booked for mid-September. It has crossed my mind that they might cancel a couple of cruises later, once they are ready to install a new whale tail (if that is what they intend to do). -
We had one on the Allure and loved it. We slept with the curtains open and kept binoculars on the bedside table. We started packing a couple of days early (the dirty clothes hamper was overflowing) and just slid the open suitcases towards the window. There is a lot of space there that would be a great storage area on a (very) long cruise.

RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)
ZoeyVictoria replied to John&LaLa's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I received the third email today for the June 20 Independence sailing. The first one was sent on May 7, and the minimum bids have not changed. I am not interested because I have a cabin I really want (aft balcony), but I hope I get a chance to bid on my August cruise. -
Injured during shore excursion...
ZoeyVictoria replied to cruisin from florida's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I fell off a Segway in Cozumel years ago (2011 or so) on a ship-sponsored excursion. I am blind in my left eye and misjudged the distance to the curb while parallel parking, side swiping it. My foot was stuck in the Segway, but eventually I flew off and landed on my back. I was bruised and sore for a few days, but not injured. The tour guides were concerned only with getting my signature on release forms, didn’t even ask if I was injured. That was my last Segway ride and I have been very careful about choosing excursions since then. After reading this thread, I know not to sign any kind of release and to report to medical when I return to the ship. Thank you for sharing your experiences. -
Mardi Gras Cruisers - Comfy Shade?
ZoeyVictoria replied to SRQbeachgirl's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I cannot tell you where the specific locations are, but I can assure you that one of the very best things about the Mardi Gras is the number of seating areas around the deck. None of them have exactly the same type of chairs/sofas, so I am positive you will find some that are perfect for you. -

My experience -5 proctored Covid tests in one day
ZoeyVictoria replied to kateg's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We are retired and sometimes welcome the opportunity to get out of the house. Walgreens is less than two miles away and we can afford four miles worth of gas. Usually we take the car to the car wash after the tests, and to get gas for the trip to the port (four of them within four hours of home). Every time (yesterday was the eighth for us), we have received the results before we get home. -
I understand what you mean. I always cruise in December and enjoy being away from the commercialism of the season - the “buy this, buy that”, the traffic and crowds in the supermarket and other stores. This year we will be gone from December 22 until the 31st and will get to miss the after-Christmas sales chaos also.

The Conquest was due to sail tomorrow on a three-night itinerary. So it looks like passengers on another ship will be canceled at the last minute and compensated.

I used the “upgraded experience” phrase to describe the experience of moving onto a newer, larger ship for a short period of time, as a time to view the newer ship and possibly decide whether or not I would want to book that ship based on the short experience. I regret that phrase 🙄

Can't upload vaccine cards to Medallion App!

It could have been an opportunity to sample the newest, largest Carnival ship for two nights. But not by sleeping in public spaces, overloading food services, entertainment, etc. Definitely not a fun or “upgraded experience” opportunity.
-
Sleeping in public spaces sounds like an extreme measure, definitely not the “upgraded experience” I imagined.
-
I agree with you 100%. It almost seems like rewarding bad behavior to offer the MG (upgrade) to those without passports, but it would be the practical thing to do. Of course, we are all assuming that Carnival will decide to get people back to Port Canaveral by means other than on the Magic. That might not be their plan.
-
But you can add enough people to bring it up to max capacity, hopefully some of those without passports who cannot easily fly back.

Can't upload vaccine cards to Medallion App!
ZoeyVictoria replied to shay1's topic in Princess Cruises
I just came back to post the exact same info, you beat me to it! Between the four-hour drive and the offsite parking shuttle, we will get there when we get there 😂. Hopefully close to our arrival time, but too many variables in play to be certain. -
Can't upload vaccine cards to Medallion App!
ZoeyVictoria replied to shay1's topic in Princess Cruises
I am also having problems uploading the vaccination cards on the iPhone. Ours are now on three cards, but I can’t find a way to load more than one. I have restarted the phone three times, logged off and back on (after changing my password 🙄). We were green lane, then blue, back to green. Now I can’t see Gary’s info. I have spent enough time on this, will let them sort it out at the terminal.
