  1. And this is why the Captain is deciding to shelter in place. https://www.passageweather.com
  2. But your $60 pre-cruise cost will have insurance added to the total.
  3. We skipped Newport due to unsafe tendering. We were given a compensation for a missed port. I think it was $50. What time are you arriving in Brooklyn? Why can't they do immigration on Thursday so that you can at least enjoy NYC on Thursday night? Hurricane Lee is expected to make landfall in Nova Scotia this weekend. I can see why the Captain wants to get out of "her" way.
  4. That means they will be rushing passengers OFF the ship. Better for embarking passengers. Risky for same day arrivals. No room for error (ship arriving late into FLL).
  5. I only did this once. But I think it was because I was getting the elite discount and my sister was not. So it was "cheaper" to buy the 4 device than 1 device for elite and 1 device for newbie sister. But that was this spring. Who can remember that "far" back.
  6. Would it be cheaper to buy 4 device for the 2 of you? Then you could order it on your app.
  7. Planks and Steamers are the included venues. Don’t think Crab Shack was mentioned. Alfredo’s and I think Salty Dog too.
  8. They still have the parade. Different times for different MDRs. Not the same. I think we waited and waited and waited. Finally happened at 7:30. Then we didn’t get the dessert. No loss.
  9. Are you asking to see the menu for that day or in advance? For that day, it will show up on your television and on your app. Days ahead, the Assistant Manager carries around a printed schedule of dishes. I always want to skip Italian night, but stop in for my tiramisu.
  10. I was on the CB in July/August of this year. Reserve Class was on Deck 6 Starboard. Interesting that they would move the Reserve Class dining room around. I, personally, like having it on Deck 6.
  11. Let me add to @NavyVeteran. You can book it when you first reserve your cruise. All of the above apply. You can add it to your booking later and pay the cost of the package plus insurance. By doing this, you are able to cancel without affecting your fare and/or penalties. You are also at risk of the rate going up. Normally....Princess gives you months of notice. Lately, they have been making changes that take affect days later.
  12. I was not charged for my medical visit invoice paper work. It included date of visit, office visit, medications given, and final diagnosis. It did not include isolate dates (noted on my Medical Records). To get a formal medical records with diagnosis AND dates of isolation, it required me to pay them $28. It was highly recommended by many on these boards not to get off the ship without an itemized copy of my medical records (verses billing invoice for visit). I'm glad you could process any claims without paying for any documentations. I can only speak to what I needed and what happened to me. I started my AON claim and it IS going to be a very long period of time until it is resolved.
  13. You need to be formally tested by Medical Center. You need to get a medical records report for $28 while onboard. It will state the times/dates you were insolation. Without that, it is difficult to "prove" you were in isolation by Medical.
  14. The Visitors Center/Jaggar Museum has been closed for several years due to earthquake activity in 2018. https://www.nps.gov/havo/planyourvisit/eruption-viewing.htm
  15. My TA reminded me several times that I electronically received a link to the coupon book on my last and next cruise. Printed it out at home. When I redeemed the free wine on embarkation meal at the Crown Grill, server needed to verify and cut off coupon. Received a Chardonnay. Did not use any of the other coupons. On my next cruise, I’m thinking of sitting for Platinum free photo. Hesitant about free $10 casino for $20 spent. Last time, I did something like that, it was a fiasco EFFY…. Such a joke
  16. I don't sail on Royal Class ships. So only stated specific ships I have sailed on (the Grand/Gem class ships I've been on). Can't speak for Royal Class. Won't be on any soon.
  17. On the Grand, Caribbean, Emerald, and Diamond (that I am familiar with), the Reserve Dining room is on Deck 6, starboard side (ship terminology/right side of the ship). Standing and facing the dining rooms/aft, Reserve dining room will be on passenger’s “left”
  18. Wow...Glad i caught covid while on my cruise. I was isolated for a sea day and Halifax (which I will be returning to at the end of the season). Sad that time in Halifax will be so much shorter than the time I missed it.
  19. I was isolated in a different cabin for 2 nights after I was tested by the Medical Center (already "used up" 3 days after symptoms began). This was at the end of July 2023. Isolate for 5 days from start of symptoms, wear a mask for 5 days (the don't do post tests). I am in the process of filing a claim with AON. I was told by agent that I qualified for a refund by check.
  20. It will never be the last night before disembarkation. When is the sea day? Often they will designate a shorter port day for your other formal night (or dress to impress night). How many days is your cruise?
  21. Interesting, first time I heard this. I was on the Emerald, Deck 6 Port side dining room. I had a set time and table. The hostess was turning away passengers and telling them that she could not help them make reservations. They had to do that on the app. Lots of very unhappy guests. She was "full" (with reservations) and could not accommodate walk ins. Don't know if any other MDR was capable of walk ins.
  22. There is no difference in dinner menus for any of the MDRs. Only difference is size. The aft dining room on Deck 6 is the largest. The one on Deck 6 midship is shared by Reserved Dining Room. If Deck 5 dining room is open it is still smaller than Deck 6 aft.
  23. I booked with EZ AIr Delta and was able to select my seat and luggage was free. I called Delta to verify. Agent said that as long as I had the card with me...(plus I would bring copy of payment with Delta card), I would be fine. Did cancel outside of 45 days since Delta direct was much cheaper. You might want to consider watching the weather (hurricane Lee) if you are sailing next week. There may be all kinds of interruptions. Funny story. Passenger made flight from SEA to FLL. Luggage never caught up to them until Boston (6 days later). Nope: Sea Day, Norfolk, Sea Day, New York, skipped Newport, Boston.
  24. @Esjung1 Still doesn't account for dollar differences. So did you bite? and make the $540 payment...or wait to make purchase onboard? Is this US or UK value? Please let us know when you solve this mysery.
