  1. This is exactly what happened with us on a Hawaii Cruise last year. CO was refunded after we paid the upsell difference from Signature to Neptune.
  2. excursions as well. booked some today and the price online for most were higher than the price listed in the e-brochure I printed a couple of months ago
  3. Thanks for this. This brings back memories. I remember the filming of the Ft Rosecrans flyover. We went to the beach and watched it from NAB. I was testing out a huge video wall at one of my projects and we played the Maverick trailer. Feb 2020 or so. Never imagined them that it would be 2 years + until the movie was released due to covid.
  4. While the original Top Gun took place at Miramar (then a Naval Air Station)...Maverick was filmed at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, including the I Bar scenes. The film version of the I Bar was built as a set on the Base...and was a good (but larger) representation of the actual bar which all Maverick fans should visit. I was taken there by surprise on my birthday last year....coincidentally the day after I watched the movie for the 4th time. We even got a drink chit because someone set their phone on the bar. He had to buy a round of drinks . I wished we had watched it on the cruise. It would have been cool if they showed in on the Lido screen during the sail away as we rounded North Island.
  5. agree. This was tan excellent boarding process. 40 minutes from living room to stateroom. Latest we have ever boarded. The ship seems packed.
  6. Having some coffee. Getting ready to pack. Boarding at 1:50. Cant wait.
  7. We had an aft Vista "suite" on the K-dam last year. I couldn't tell the difference between that and a standard Verandah size-wise.
  8. The Liverpool department store in the heart of town might be an option.
  9. They will show up in the Navigator app...but they will come and go in the weeks before your departure. By the time you board, they will stay. Same for excursions. I have always received an email confirmation...so that is strange, but I wouldn't worry.
  10. Lot's of horns this morning. Woke me up. Enjoy your cruise. We got off last Saturday. Had a great time.
  11. We were on the K-dam thanksgiving cruise last year. While there were more children on board than usual, they were well behaved. Of course that cruise was at 60% and this year's will be full. You will have a great cruise.
  12. We did a Leon excursion in 2019. Town only. Great place to visit!
  13. Just off the Koningsdam this morning. Have it All and more was in effect. We just paid the difference in the price of the drink over $12.
  14. Ruth's Chris is directly across from the port. Was that trip more expensive than your uber to the port from the hotel? Uber has gotten much more expensive here in the past two years. Before COVID, our uber from home to the port was ~$7 (for an 8 minute trip). We'll see what it is this Saturday....we are only 2 miles away.
  15. Yes! And so true about the pile of bikes in a yard.
  16. I'd recommend you set your pick up location a block or two from the port. We take a left turn after leaving the port and request the Uber down by the Portside Pier.
  17. I'm a Gen X-er. Grew up free range and as a 10 yo could be miles from home and my parents wouldn't even know. They would set us loose at Walt Disney World (1970s) and I have no doubt, if allowed back then, they would have had no problem letting us wander in a port on our own. Different times.
  18. I did as well. Sailing on the Kdam on Saturday.
  19. We love the New York Pizza. Always ask for crispy crust. The pizza in the Lido is literally the worst thing they serve on the ship. My elementary school cafeteria had better pizza.
  20. I do not think you should be concerned. We have sailed nearly 100 days on HA and have never experienced bed bugs. Also sailing on Saturday and really looking forward to the attention to detail and level of cleanliness we have come to expect.
  21. Yes...kudos to HAL...it is a great tool. Just checked this again for my journey staring in 10 days 8 hours 4 minutes. Last week it was testing not required if vax'd. It is now: We highly recommend all guests be up to date on their vaccination status. Vaccinations, however, are not required. Guests are not required to take a COVID-19 test prior to embarkation.
  22. Oh no!!!! Not looking forward to a full ship. We have friends that just got off the K-dam from Hawaii and they said it was packed. Really enjoyed our not so full cruises last November and this past January.
  23. You can book using the Have it All allowances, but not your OBC. That has been my experience in the past and may have changed. From what I understand, the OBC is not technically in your account to spend until you board the ship.
  24. @kazu Awesome! You are in your league the minute you board a HA ship. This will be our first Rudi’s experience but I have no idea why. I’m not fancy enough for restaurants with tablecloths I suppose. We were on the K-dam last Thanksgiving and then again in Jan for circle Hawaii. Outstanding ship. We are on the upcoming Coastal CA in 23 days, also on the K-dam. We are very fortunate to be just minutes from the Port….and within 12-18 months of retiring. You will love a Pinnacle Class ship!
