  1. According to the postings (Freestyle Daily) above from mking8288, the Solo Meet Ups are in the Bliss Lounge.
  2. I just deck the Pearl's Kids Club-- mid ship Deck 12 just forward of the buffet. With the Kids programs up and running on every Freestyle Daily I have read, I am assuming that the one on the Pearl is too. Enjoy The Pearl is a wonderful ship.
  3. Thank you for all the wonderful pictures from Key West. Brought back a lot of good memories. So happy to see that the Aquarium has been restored once again. More than one hurricane has damaged it through the years.
  4. Go to the Solo gatherings late each afternoon (listed in the Freestyle Daily. Meet up with people and go to dinner as a group.
  5. I would opt for The Pearl. When you board, go sign your child up for the kids program. Usuallly they keep the kids very busy. On a Spring Break cruise there should be lots of kids in that age bracket signed up in the program. Enjoy your cruise and being with family. A Spring Break cruise on any ship will be crowded.
  6. Since you feel so strongly about this issue and nothing can be resolved about it on the forum, I would suggest that you write a letter to the International Maritime Organization in London, England. They would be only people who could make the changes you think need to be made. I am assuming that they have a website to obtain their exact mailing address.
  7. Noel Chaves from India has boarded as Restaurant Manager
  8. It is my understanding that tours may begin again in the next month or so. Do not know if it will be ship by ship or entire fleet after a given date. There should be one or two presentations during your cruise about how to "Run A Floating Hotel". One is usually done by the Hotel Senior Management staff and the other by the Captain and Chief Engineer. Watch your Freestyle Daily for day, time and place. You can also ask at the Guest Services Desk.
  9. Check the itinerary map for each ship. Are any sailing from Vancouver up the Inside Passage (body of water between Vancouver Island and the mainland of Canada?? To me, one of the best parts of the cruise for beautiful scenery. Two other considerations: (1) How many days can you be gone including the number of days to and from either Seattle or Vancouver? (2) From your home which airport has better flight connections (SEATAC -Seattle or Vancouver and what is the difference in price??
  10. EXACTLY THANK YOU CHIEF as always. Do not remember how many years you served aboard a cruise ship, but I know that it was lot. With that comes experience and gained knowledge. Over the years, as a passenger who cares about crew, I appriecate and respect every singl e one of you.
  11. You might want to check out The Key West Shipwreck Museum too. Real priates and their treasures. In the last few years according to the television Expedition Unknown (Discovery Channel), there have been a number of finds made in the last few years.
  12. Have a wonderful time. Have you been the Truman "Winter" Whitehouse in Key West. If you are a history buff-- very interesting. Noel Chaves from India will be your Restautant Manager. Very nice man.
  13. As always, Chief-- Thank you for your years of experience and your williness to share your knowledge.
  14. Looking at the 10 Day Sun itinerary: Juneau-- depending on where you dock you might be able to walk but there will be buses available Skagway--dock- can walk into town Sitka--does have a dock but your cruise might have to tender. Icy Strait Point-- does have a dock but has a "People Mover" to move you closer to the attractions Ketchikan (Ward Cove)--Docks but several miles from downtown but there will be lots of buses Victoria-- docks a distance from downtown-- walkable but suggest only in daylight hours. There will lots of buses and bicycle cabs available near the pier Enjoy your cruise Alaskan is beautiful especially in the very early part of the season.
  15. The Jewel and the Spirit will also be sailing out of Vancouver this Summer.
  16. Ships that "Winter" in Port Canvernal sail Europe or Baltic cruises in the Summer. Most of the ships that "Winter" In Miami sail Alaskan cruises in the Summer. The Breakaway "Winters" in New Orleans will be in Europe over the Summer.
  17. The only thing I see on the Pearl's schedule for the Fall of 2023 are all the different Sixman concerts. I believe I read on another site that there 66 days of concerts. Sometimes these are charter cruises.
  18. Given the fact that a very massive snowstorm hit almost the entire United States a day or two before Christmas, cancellations and delays were happening almost minute by minute. There is NO ONE to blame for an extreme act of nature. Where I live in the Pacific Northwest because of the weather, I could not get to church for either Christmas Eve or Christmas morning services.
  19. Have you heard any more about the Carinval passenger who jumped in the water? What a dumb thing to do. Looked like a lot of manpower to rescue him. I would not have wanted to hear what both the Captain and the Hotel Director had to say. WOW!!!
  20. BLISS: Taken from a Freestyle Daily posted today: General Manager: Djamel Assistant Manager: Maztes (sp?) Cruise Director: Paquito Guest Services Manager: Charlyn Restaurant Manager: Marija Food and Beverage Manager: Zdravko Executive Housekeeper: Anton Beverage Manager: Haide
