The latest you can leave the ship will be between 9:00 and 9:30 A.M. Is it possibble to get a day room at the Crown Plaza? Relax, use the pool. I would not reccomend touring the USS Iowa with a small child. Lots of walking and stairs to climb.

Check In time and Boarding Time are TWO DIFFERENT times. Check In Time-- when to arrive at the terminal Boarding Time-- Once the ship is cleared from the previous cruise, you will be allowed to board. Usually boarding begins shortly after 11 A.M.

Since The Epic has been in Europe, I would be more worried about the CDC Inspection than the Coast Guard. Either could cause a delay.

If I am reading your question correctly, you booked your airfare through Norwegian? If so, they will make every possible effort to get you to the ship on time. It is possible the ship may be held in port until your arrival.

BEWARE!!! If your suite is under the Bridge, you can not use your outside at night, your balcony door must be closed at night and your door curtain completely closed. NO LIGHT can show from your suite. The Bridge needs complete darkness to see. The Bridge can also see on most if not all of the balconies. Do not want to be out there in your bathrobe or something really skimpy.

There is a Christmas program on Christmas Eve but not an actual church service. Christmas morning Santa Claus will arrive in the lobby for all the kids. Each child will get their picture taken with Santa and a gift. Lots of fun to watch.

A studio on Deck 11 would be good. Even if the seas are a bit rough, you should not feel it very much. No way to know what the weather will be. If you are prone to seasickness, then bring your meds. Late afteroon Day 2, it should be warm enough to be outside. I like to arrive as early as possible. You probably will not be able to actual board until after 11 A.M. Enjoy your cruise. The Getaway is a great ship.

This tournament is amazing so far. Japan beat Germany-- another possibly Finalist goes down. WOW!! So far this tournament there have been more ties than the entire tournament four years ago.

Crew members are very literate in their own launguages. English is one of the most difficult languages to learn. There are groups of on ship employees that are not required to speak English, especially those that do do interact with passengers: laundry workers, Deck and Engine Personnel for two. If an staff members deals with passengers, they have to speak English. At one time there were English classes available for crew members. To answer your question, I was 14 when I go my first real paycheck and NO I did not know about deductions for taxes, insurance, social Security, etc.

According to a crew website as of the 18th of November 2022, NCL has put some new crew rules into effect for those who are 2 stripes or less: (1) they will no longer be able to have acess to public areas including bars, restaurants and other place without prior permission (2) they will no longer have cabin stewards which I think means they have to clean their own cabins. WOW!!

Crew members come from all over the world. Some speak and understand English better than others. Do you remember the 1st time you ever got a payroll slip? Did you know what it said? Codes for payroll deductions can be very confusing. Most young people I know multiply the number of hours they have worked by whatever their pay rate is and think that what they will get-- it isn't. Same thing with crew. For many direct deposit is new-- some countries still do not have it. So crew gets paid and has to wire money home.

Christmas decorations should go up beginning slightly after midnight Thanksgiving evening/Friday morning.

As a solo passenger, I go the the Restuarant Hostess Desk shortly before they open and they are always able to seat me without a reservation. Go at whatever time you wish to eat and ask.
