  1. Someone in the last week has posted pictures of the Drill outside under assigned lifeboats on the Spirit.
  2. From what I understand, once ships began sailing again, it was always planned to come back to the "old" system. May have something to do with the SOLAS (Safety of Life at SEA) regulations.
  3. Is the Bliss a round trip 7 day cruise and the Sun a 9 or 10 day round trip from Seattle? Can you do a longer cruise? For me there would be on question: The Sun. She is a small ship but a wonderful ship. The Sun has a forward Observation Deck and an outside balcony in front of it. Look at your cruise itineary map, the Sun should sail the body of water between the Eastcoast of Vanacouver Island and the mainland of Canada (the lower portion of the Inside Strait). That is a beautiful cruise. The Bliss will sail out of the Strait of Juan de Fuca into the Pacific Ocean before turning North to Alaska. Whatever ship you choose enjoy.
  4. Given what busines's in general and all cruise ship companies in particular, I am not surprised at all. Normal course of business given what everyone has been through in the last couple of years. Just saw a news story this morning talking about the number of churchs that have closed or will close beacause of money issues. Will it keep me from booking a Norwegian cruise, NO. I have several booked for 2023.
  5. I have seen Million Dollar Quartet and Burn The Floor multiple times with very full theatres. With MDQ--there are only about 7 people in the production. Burn The Floor has a number of dancers that they can interchange show to show or night to night. In 38 cruises, I have never gone to a Comedy show except twice when it was in the theatre and part of something else. Ships have a wide variety of entertainment for a wide variety of passengers. Not everyone likes everything.
  6. Yesterday was a major change over in staff including the General Manager. Always takes staff a day or two to re-adjust to being on ship again especially if this is a first contract ever or the first contract on a different ship.
  7. Getaway Update (20 January): General Manager Mario Markovic joined today
  8. I am only aware of two maybe three ships where Drills are outside under the lifeboats: The Spirit, The Sun and maybe The Sky. Someone just posted a few days ago the Drill done outside on The Spirit.
  9. You are talking about TWO DIFFERENT TIMES. When you complete your online process then you get a time to CHECK-IN at the port. Boarding time to actually go a board the ship usually begins somewhere around 11 A.M. and can vary from cruise to cruise. It depends on how l ong it takes to reach a "O" passenger count from the prior cruise. Relax and enjoy
  10. Taken from other threads as of yesterday (17 January): Dawn: Restaurant Manger: Noel Chaves just returned from vacation Gem: General Manager: Joao Giante Food and Beverage: Vikramraj Parthasarthy ( sp?) Restaurant Mananger: Ravikumar Rajoo Cruise Director: Yanique Smith Getaway: Captain: Konstantinos Gkokas Chief Engineer: Oeystein Undrum Staff Captain: Linska Stanisc General Manager: Methin Caurulu (sp?) Cruise Director: Alvin Olivia Jewel: General Manager Steven Jacobsen left on the 15th for vacation (personal knowledge)
  11. From what I have read and pictures posted in the last few days, some ships have gone back to the old way of the Muster Drill. I think the change was made beginning with the cruises within this past week.
  12. Current Officers Spirit: Captain Ashutosh Chandra General Manager: Vuk Malobibic Chief Engineer: Tonci Granic Food and Beverage Director: Mohammad Hasan
  13. According to the deck plans on NCL.com, the Game Room is on Deck 12 forward just inside the door toward the Spa from the Pool Deck.
  14. If you carefully rad the announcement, the shows that require manpower for lots of costume changes or moving of background scene changes will be reduced. Million Dollar Quarter does not require either, so they should still be on board.
  15. (1) Muster Stations are located in various locations indoors (on some of the smaller older ships, they are outside under your assigned lifeboats). IF it ever becomes necessary lifejackets will be provided at your Muster Station. (2) I have always been able to go to the Restaurant Reservation Desk (next to Guest Services) to get what I needed. (3) A very small tax is collected until the Gulf of Mexico (8 hours or so after leaving New Orleans). (4) There has been a "Dress Up or Not Night" the evening of the first Sea. Totally optional. Enjoy your cruise and the City of New Orleans (one of my very favorite places).
  16. When I book a cruise, I purchase a package that includes the cruise fare, taxes and fees, pre and post hotels with the transfers. When you disembark, you check in the the port people loading the buses, you and your luggage get on the correct bus and off you go. For an older solo passenger, it works very well.
  17. More than once in LA, I have taken the NCL shuttle from San Pedro directly to the partnership hotel. I have also done it in Miami.
  18. Suggestion: book a "day room" at the NCL partnership hotel near LAX and take the NCL Hotel Shuttle from the ship to the hotel. Then arrange a tour once you are at the hotel or just relax, have anice dinner before heading to th airport using the hotel shuttle.
  19. When you get a chance could you please the list of the current Officers both Hotel and Bridge? Enjoy your cruise. I would love to make this cruise but from the West Coast of the United States, it is a long journey just to get to the ship.
  20. Another option would be to get a "day room" at one of the airport hotels (maybe the NCL partnership hotel). If you booked the partnership hotel, then you could take the shuttle from the ship directly to the hotel ( I have done that several times).
  21. Thank you Looking at the deck 17 and 18 plans, I didn't see any cabin space indicated.
