What to do in Warnemunde (Berlin)
Mrs.Dukes replied to mhg7274's topic in Northern Europe & Baltic Sea
We were in Warnemunde last summer as a cruise stop . We did not want to take the trip to Berlin. We took the train, which is right next to the cruise terminal, into Rostock. Very nice little city. Spent time walking around, seeing the sights. Then we came back to Warnemunde and spent the rest of the day there. We really enjoyed Warnemunde. Walked around by the fishing boats, had a snack and drink at one of the outdoor restaurants. Walked down by the lovely beach, and climbed up the lighthouse. We really enjoyed our day there. -
In 2019 we docked at Nordre Tolbod. In 2022, also on Azamara, we docked at Oceankaj.

We have only been on 2 Azamara cruise (both in Europe), 1 Celebrity cruise, and a number of Royal Caribbean cruises, so I am by no means an expert. We really enjoyed the Azamara cruises, the last of which was this past August. I was concerned before I went about the size of the ship after sailing on the mega ships. We found we really liked the size of the Azamara ship. The bathrooms were small (we stayed in a standard balcony cabin), but it wasn’t a problem for us. The crew were fabulous. We found the food to be very good. I don’t think the entertainment is as good, because there are much more limited offerings, but we found plenty of things to entertain us. We particularly liked it for the long time (and some overnights) that we had in the ports. Also, they generally had a convenient docking spot, and in some places, shuttles. We found the cost to be comparable on the cruises we took. I would love to sail on Azamara again! We enjoyed the included alcohol, the wines were not great but ok, and a few types of beer were included, as well as other liquors (list of the included alcohol is on the website). We also did a package which included 4 nights at the specialty restaurants, and a chef’s table, which we really enjoyed!

Tallinn was one of the highlights of our Baltic cruise last summer. Beautiful city.

We took the train from Amsterdam to Brussels a few years ago. It was very easy. We stayed at the Warwick by Grand Place. It was a great hotel, but not by the airport. (We didn’t fly from Brussels).

Hope you have a wonderful cruise to beautiful Hawaii! -
We took a tour through the cruise line. It took you outside the city of Visby, where we visited a fishing village, and saw some ruins, and visited a church. Then it finished with a walking tour in Visby. Visby itself is a really nice walled town. Very easy to walk around the town of Visby itself. We enjoyed the tour. I did a little research and didn’t find much in the way of tours not through the cruise line.
