  1. Then Carnival needs to stop sending emails to platinum folks saying we can drop off our luggage when we get on. As long as they send me that email, I’ll be dropping my carryon off. I just put it in the closet and head back out.
  2. The casino was closed for some reason.
  3. Also, this is 100% my personal opinion but I think you’ll get on even answering yes. You have a negative test, asymptomatic, so it just seems weird that Carnival would give up that revenue just because of that one answer. Which is why I, personally, wouldn’t risk it. But I understand the desire for accuracy.
  4. We had someone on the Glory who needed assistance and they provided it.
  5. Just so I understand, your husband will have a negative test result, has no symptoms, but you may not get to cruise because you said yes, he was exposed to someone within 14 days. I think the reason know one has an answer the question as to what happens if they say yes is, the percentage of people answering no is as close to 100% as you can get. And there is no scientific reason not to let your husband on that ship even with a yes answer. We all have to make decisions in life. There is a 100% chance I would be on that cruise.
  6. Hey, Anyone recently do a Horizon back to back and, if so, did they test you before the second leg?
  7. That happened to us on a B2B in June. We bought alcohol at a port, checked it with Carnival and they delivered it to us the last night of the first leg. I think it’s because they just don’t have the mechanism to catch that.
  8. Also, the testing is up to the ships doctor. We didn’t test on our back to back a couple of weeks ago.
  9. More fun. But a lot more skill and training.
  10. That would suck for the employees though. If I was an alchemy bartender, I’d be wondering why, after the specific training I went through, I’m paid as much as someone who basically buses tables. There would be no incentive to train for a different role.
  11. Then that has change since the restart. Because the casino people I’ve talked to said they share in the casino tips. Which is different from the casino bar. And that’s why they like working on Carnival ships. Now, maybe what they do is have different levels of tips for different areas. Because clearly, the skill level to do certain roles is different on the ship. Hard to imagine each person gets an exact same share of the tips.
  12. I agree individuals don’t necessarily keep the tips they get (unless they pocket it but seems like a good way to lose your job). But I think tips are split up by area. Casino gets different pool of tips than dining, etc.
  13. That’s what we get. I just play craps and the comps you get are, well, not the best. But I also realize that Carnival makes more money on slot players playing as long as I play craps, so I understand. Getting drinks on us is huge for my wife and I though. Can be a pain having to go to the casino to get the drinks but find a good server, tip them well early, and it’s no big deal.
  14. We were on the 6/5 sailing and boarding started at 11:00. So A03 wouldn’t be too far behind the start. Of course, if there’s a delay disembarking, that could change boarding.
  15. That’s weird because that’s not my quote. But in regards to that, we have 3 cruises booked right now. We will see how things plan out with testing. The whole issue of testing positive before cruises doesn’t affect us all that much since I’m retired and can just switch. But I wouldn’t be cruising if I were working and had to plan around a vacation schedule. I think things will get back to normal long before 2024 because Covid is here, it’s not going away, it’s not that deadly, so let’s end this theater.
  16. With other lines, no rust on ships, no unruly passengers or kids, 100% staffed areas where they bring you a drink before you even knew you needed one. They clean your room every hour. The food in every venue would Beat Bobby Flay every time. Loungers are open by the pool at all hours of the day. Pizza lines are under a minute. And Covid is destroyed within seconds of being exposed to the rarified air on the ship.
  17. The color codes are silly. They are not accurate and are literally good for nothing. I get the OP was messing around so this isn’t directed at him. If you get Covid on a cruise, it is 100% your fault. Not Carnival, not other passengers, not the CDC, not big pharma…..it’s all on you. If you don’t want to get Covid, stay home. That simple.
  18. I’m pretty sure rust is the main reason why carnival stock is so low. Who wants to put up with that? The smartest decision would be to cancel the full sailings (some people just don’t realize how bad the rust is) until they can get all new ships. Only way to protect their brand.
  19. My issue isn’t discussing what can be improved. It’s the sky is falling and Carnival is killing their brand overreaction. I don’t mind people coming up with things Carnival can do better.
  20. The stock price says otherwise? Man, there are so many financial experts in these forums. It’s awe-inspiring. Let’s keep this simple. My opinion is the number of people who are not cruising on Carnival because they are not happy with the cruise experience is small and is not the reason why Carnival’s stock price is down. And my reason for that opinion is the full ships and talking to people who are continuing to cruise. Some people here are almost offended that others are having great times on these cruises. It’s OK that you didn’t have a good time and others are.
  21. Ha. Yep. The difference between Valor and Glory to me is the inside Red Frog that the valor has. But I’m the same way with the various classes. Dream and Breeze……
  22. You can choose not cruise on Carnival. You can come here and complain all you want. But the market is not agreeing with your assessment. Just because your opinion of the Carnival “brand” is down, it doesn’t mean that others feel the same way. I thought my last two Carnival cruises were awesome. Carnival has always been an entry level cruise line. It’s been known as the Walmart of cruise lines since I can remember. There are higher end cruise lines people can take. Again, you can feel that way all you want. I’m sure Carnival brass is sitting there with baited breath for your pearls of wisdom as to how they can improve their cruise line.
  23. The difference between people I know who cruise (and living in a 55+ community, it’s a lot) and Facebook groups and what some here on cruise critic are saying is vast. I don’t know anyone who has said they are not going to cruise with Carnival because of service issues. I do know people who won’t cruise because of testing but that’s not just a Carnival thing. If people don’t want to cruise Carnival because they don’t like the service level, that’s fine. I’m not going to judge. But those people are in a very small minority.
  24. I understand why people are disappointed in long lines. I haven’t experienced too long of lines for what I want to do but I get we are all different. But to say that Carnival is hurting their brand because of long lines is projecting your own thoughts a little too much. I have yet to talk to anyone who has cruised who has said they won’t cruise again because of long lines. If people don’t cruise Carnival because pizza at 11:00 took an hour, mkay. Again, that’s not to say long lines aren’t annoying. But hurting their brand? Just don’t see it. Other than in the cruise critic bubble.
  25. Don’t blame you. Only reason we are cruising are the cheap casino rates, and I’m retired so if something needs to be rescheduled, no big deal for us. We drive to the ports. But there is zero chance I’d cruise if it was a group of us. I marvel at hearing groups of people having to go through the testing process.
