  1. Is your wife also getting casino offers using your card? If not, that may not be an issue for you. But if you have friends or family who don’t get casino offers, it’s a huge deal. Being able to book two cabins with casino deals is awesome.
  2. Agree with this. My wife plays maybe 15% of the craps I do yet she still gets pretty good offers with her limited play. Helps us take friends with us on the casino deals by each of us having some casino offers.
  3. Not sure why an NCL ship would be using Carnivals dock at GT. oops. Answered above
  4. Agree. But people are starting to see how badly they were duped and are tired of it.
  5. I’m not trying to argue and say others experience in terms of temperature is wrong, but I didn’t not feel it was hot in the MDR, casino, comedy, piano bar, or specialty restaurants. It was warm in areas like the lido near where you go outside. But I never say there.
  6. If that’s true, this is more theater than I thought. And I think it’s been performance art since the beginning. But, it’s a start. And hopefully, momentum will continue to go towards letting people make their own risk decisions.
  7. Glad to see Carnival finally following the science that Covid only spreads on cruise ships starting the 6th day.
  8. We were on this week also. We stayed primarily in the casino and Havana area so didn’t see the unruly passengers all that much. But we did do room service twice late at night. And yes, you pay for it but it was easy to order through the Hub App.
  9. If you have a negative lab test from 7/8, you’re good to go. If you don’t, not sure you’re going.
  10. It’s got a kick to it but I wouldn’t say enough for most to think too spicy. And while I like spicy stuff, I’m not Mr Ghost Pepper type of dude.
  11. Spicy chipotle pineapple martini. Has vodka. And is the best drink on the ship.
  12. M not adding much to this conversation but I get an Allstate e-gift card for every cruise for $1000. Where else can you get cash at a 10% discount? If I wasn’t retired, I’d do $1050.
  13. Love pickleball. Play if 5 times a week. But that wind in a ship? Actually, if I drink enough, it may counter the wind………
  14. 9:00 on the Horizon. It may change day to day. Morning, it’s pretty busy. We try and go around 4:00 if we aren’t napping. Not busy then. We are not super gym people. But we pay for the alcohol and food with a work out. Not sure it’s enough but makes us feel better about our gluttony.
  15. We are on the Horizon right now. We haven’t felt the heat described by some in the MDR, comedy club, main theater, oceans plaza or the casino. I can’t speak for other areas since those are the places we spend most of our time. Our room has been perfect. Havana aft balcony. It can be warm in some transitional spaces. Like stairs on certain floors or the space when you walk in to the lido from outside. But it has been transitory, meaning, we haven’t spent any time where we felt it was too warm. Im not saying what others have felt didn’t happen. But heat has not been an issue for us this week.
  16. I think it is definitely higher than official numbers. Not because of hiding numbers but because people don’t report it. I didn’t. So sure, if we had accurate numbers, people could make decisions based on that. I guess my point is, if that’s something important to folks, they might not want to cruise at this point.
  17. Agree. Except that if I’m going to risk getting Covid, I’m at least on a cruise ship.
  18. Well, the positivity rate on a cruise ship is a unicorn that will never be known. It’s high enough that a decent number of people are testing positive. I agree that’s not super helpful but I’m in the camp that if someone is truly worried about getting it, then they shouldn’t cruise. I think it’s absolutely higher than .3. Hard to believe it’s 20%. Maybe it is. But if someone says, I’d go at 5% but not at 10%, they probably should do a different vacation.
  19. That’s not true according to their own policy.
  20. CDC and Carnival would only have the number of positive tests Carnival did themselves. Which would undercount things by a large margin. Not because anyone is hiding things. Just the number of people who tested themselves and didn’t report it. So any number would be meaningless. In the meantime, cruising the next two weeks, so can worry about all that later.
  21. Mine just showed up in my cruise manager today for a cruise Sunday. The carnival web site is very….wonky.
  22. Given the folks I know in their 70s and when you grew up, yes, you could very well be. And I mean that as a high compliment.
  23. It is easy. The only times we have used it was sea day brunch and our time dining. And it’s much better than sitting around outside the dining room waiting. It’s one of the best changes carnival has made.
  24. My platinum letter was similar but the big difference. Here’s what mine said. STATEROOM ACCESS – Due to enhanced cleaning and sanitation, staterooms may not be ready at the time of boarding for the early Arrival Appointments. If you have not checked your bags, feel free to quickly drop off your luggage while our crew puts the finishing touches on your stateroom. This will allow you to complete your e-mustering process and start your vacation promptly.
  25. Remember the real men of genius commercials? Well, this fits that. Whether you’re a dude or not.
