My first post, Just came back from Vegas and my wife and i were talking to a couple on the plane, Have you ever won "big bucks" in the casino? I hit $1500

on the Allure last year playing "deal or no deal" Anybody hit BIG BUCKS?

Was on Liberty of the Seas in March. I also hit "deal or no deal" twice for 1879 each. I guess that's the highest it goes then restarts at 1000. And I usually don't play it but I was sitting next to my sister who was playing it. I just lost 400 in a different slot machine.....I put 40 bucks just to sit next to her and I hit it in my second run. Was sooooo excited then played another one the next night and hit it. And they don't take taxes out of u. Gonna be on Oasis in October 2014. I hope machines there would be " loose" also.

Yes I have...:)

Nope...haven't won on the slots....did win a bit at BJ...not what I'd call "big bucks"!

I won a thousand bucks twice, once on the Allure and just recently on the Radiance. :D. You would have thought that I was the next contestant on The Price is right!

P.S. Those are the only two times that I won anything significant. I do okay at blackjack.

Two years ago on Monarch, I won $2,500.00, last year on Enchantment, I won $1,000, both on slots. Going on Brilliance in February, hope my luck holds out!

I hit 5x 5x 7 on a WOF for $3000.00 on Explorer in November of 2011. The next year I hit 5x 5x triple bar for $1500.00 on the same machine. Just came off Brilliance and the best I could do was $850.00 on a Double Diamond.

Why would you put a specific number...10k-20k regarding a hit and what would cutbacks have to do with winning in the casino!!!:rolleyes: And what do you mean "would they pay"...:rolleyes:

I've never won anything worth mention on RCI ships. I have won $1200 on Princess with WOF and $3000 on NCL on a $5 machine (which was an accident, hit it on the first spin--I thought I was on a quarter machine!! If I would have "bet max" I would have won 10K! :D)

A young woman on this year's Brilliance repositioning cruise, twice won over $10,000 playing the poker slot machines. I wouldn't have believed it but was there on both occasions. Of course she played the maximum amounts on each play but it was still amazing. I'm sure she gave much,but not all, of it back over the 13 night cruise. On our TA on the Brilliance, a young man won $2000 on the Wheel of Fortune machine. Our group was doing the slot pull on another WOF machine but was not anywhere near as lucky.

I won $290 on a Triple Diamond slot machine. I had just put a $20 bill into the machine and won on my second pull! Maybe not "big bucks" to some, but a pretty good return for spending $1.50. I high-tailed it back to put my "fortune" in the safe. You've heard of Las Vegas "whales" (big money gamblers) ? Well, I guess that makes me a cruise ship "minnow" !!!!:D:eek:

I won $1440 on the Carnival Magic last year on the New Years cruise. It was some dollar machine with 7's on fire. What sucks is your in international water and still have to fill out the IRS form. It also took about a half hour to finalize the payout. Oh, well I would still do it again. :)

I didn't have any big wins on Freedom of the Seas but I am hoping to make a run on a quarter wheel of Fortune machine on Allure of the Seas.

A few years ago on Radiance I put 40.00 into a dollar video poker machine and on the second spin hit a royal flush for 4K. It was the beginning of the trip and my hubby (grrrr) locked it in the safe and changed the combination on me ! :eek: lol Anyways...was a nice spin...and no i didnt have to fill out a IRS form.

 

On Oasis last month I hit 800.00 twice on video poker...that casino was good to me.

I hit 4 Aces with the kicker on DDB VP for $2,000 on Enchantment in October.

I won $750 on the Serenade a few years back. Put $20 in the machine on the first night and hit on third try. Took my money and ran.

Not me personally, but my mother won 11K on a Rhapsody Of The Seas slot machine.

On Carnival Triumph a few years ago I won a little over $900.00 in three sessions playing Hold em. It barely covered my wife's bar bill.

Not big by any means but 3rd place in the slot tournament for $282 was a nice bonus.

I saw a strange thing on the Enchantment, November 18th cruise.

 

3 Progressive machines in a row.

With 2 jackpots on each..........1 lg and 1 smaller.

(Now if you have ever played progressive slots it takes one heck of a long time to do a buildup on the large jackpot for it to hit.....)

 

I saw all three lg jackposts hit on a 4 day cruise. I hit one for best I can remember 180.00 and within 5 pulls I hit the smaller on that same machine. Strange! I thought.

Not a cruise ship casino, but I went to Las Vegas once in a $60,000 Cadillac and came home in a $350,000 Greyhound bus:eek:.;)

 

Casinos stay in operation by winners bragging about their winnings and losers putting their tails between their legs and shutting up. Some people enjoy playing, but having had courses in probability and understanding expectation values I fail to appreciate it. Each to their own.

Do they give you the winnings in cash? I don't think I'd want more than $1,000 in cash on the ship. (Hope I have such problems!! )

Yes, they give cash.

Several years ago I was playing three card poker and a high roller was sitting next to me. He left the table and came back about 45 minutes later and said "wait till you hear the announcement " they came on the loud speaker and announced he had won $27,000 on a slot machine. This guy had his own table limit (betting $1500 a hand in 3 card poker) ,he was doing something like 6 back to backs.
