Am I the only person onboard who has no interest in "Quest"?

Recommended Posts

Now don't bite my head off! I know Quest has a cult-like following and I think it is great that so many people have so much fun with it, but I personally didn't feel the need to see it happen again and again. Don't get me wrong, I laughed out loud when I saw it, but now that I've seen it I have no interest in seeing it again. I realize the "players" change on each cruise which changes the outcome of the "script", but the game itself doesn't change and the shock value is gone for me. It's sort of a "been there, done that" sort of thing for me. Am I the only person who feels this way? Is there something wrong with me? (don't answer that, it's a rhetorical question!:p ) Anyway, with the sudden surge of Quest threads on the boards I began to wonder if there was anyone else out there who prefers to be sitting in the Viking Crown Lounge at 10:30p.m. listening to music, sipping a lovely drink, and watching the moon glow over the ocean? I think I just figured out why its always empty up there at 10:30p.m.! ;) You're all at Quest! :D

I have to agree with you. I wanted so much to see it and I did see it on Brilliance. I loved it and laughed really hard. What I didn't like was the cheaters, you know, the people who had been before and knew what to bring. I guess I don't like cheating at anything and there were a few teams of them.

I think to keep it interesting RCI has to change some of the items because with more people cruising, more people going to Quest, more cheaters. It is a fun game, if only everyone had an equal opportunity. I can't imagine doing what some of the people have done for a key chain or the likes.

Don't get me wrong, it is fun for someone who hasn't gone before. But for me, once is enough.

I don't know if we'd like it or not, we're either in bed asleep by that time (boring people here :o ) or up walking on deck.

We don't go to the production shows, the Captains parties, casino or smokey bars, either  I guess we're party poopers. Out of 12 cruises, I've only seen the belly flop contest once, been to one napkin folding class and have only hung out in the back of the room and guffawed at the "art" auctions.

The best part of a cruise  , you can do nothing and have a wonderful vacation :)

Been there, done it several times over.

It's time for something new. I know what to expect everytime and that takes all the enjoyment out of it. I already told DH on last cruise when we did'nt go to the Quest Game that I was bored and not going to anymore.

It'd be like watching the same intertainment on every ship and that would'nt be good/exciting.

Yell, there will be people that haven't seen it and that wil be great for them but not us pass cruisers.

I'll be somewhere else from now on.

Now the Newlywed game is still good but they need to ask different questions on that too.

Just a thought! CJ :) :)

Been there done that and no need to do it again, loved it the first time we saw it, we did see it one more time and on our last cruise we decided we wanted to do something else. Much prefer the champagne bar having a cocktail. So Bonnie your not the only one and there is nothing wrong with you.

I have my first RCI cruise booked 4/08. I saw all of the threads here on Quest and did some research, even found some video of it on youtube. I didn't see the appeal. I guess I am one of the boring crowd as well. We are usually in bed by 11-11:30 but up to see the sunrise many mornings. We might go this once unless something more interesting gets my attention.

Glad to know there are some out there that don't think it is so great.

No desire to do Quest. We much prefer going out on the helipad (if we can) and stargazing. Nothing can beat the firmaments for a beautiful ending to our day.

We are a minority, have never seen Quest. Didn't know much about it til read the threads. I guess we should go once just to say we did. We did enjoy tremendously, the Liars Game on the Sun Princess, April 2006 Panama.

It's time for the boring, old, farts to unite! ;)

The real beauty of a cruise vacation is that they offer something for everyone! I find that as I get older, my tastes keep changing and my days (and nights) onboard the ship are spent in different ways than when I first started cruising. My favorite time has always been early morning though. I love to get up early and grab a cup of coffee and wander around the empty ship while everyone else seems to be sleeping-in from their exhausting night at the Quest! :D

The first time - I watched and thought it was silly. The next time we played and had a blast. Now I prefer to take some pictures but if I missed it, it wouldn't matter.

Last cruise was good though because we had a CC team.

What has really been ruined for me is the Love and Marriage game show. There are WAY too many people playing who are scripted because of the repetative questions from cruise to cruise. At this point, they should require all players to be first time cruisers in order to get some of the spontaneity back into it. Or get much more creative with the questions - having a list of 100 or so from which to choose.

That is my favorite time also. It is like you have the ship to yourself. We have an aft balcony on our next cruise (7688 on Mariner) I researched before choosing a cabin and saw your posts as well as others about the balcony size of that one. I will probably spend some early mornings there.

Shhhh, don't give our secret away! We don't want everyone crowding into the Viking Lounge now do we!

Nope you are not the only one that is not keen on Quest. Some like it, some don't. Nothing wrong with you, or anyone else that doesn't care for it.

We've been twice and laughed our rears off the first time. The second time got kinda old pretty fast but was still entertaining. Our table mates talked and planned every night about getting in and what they planned to do. Well, they did and they had a great time and talked about it for the rest of the cruise. We'll just see how the mood strikes us on Liberty.
