Who here would like to see a "Boutique Class" of ships?

Who here would like to see Royal Caribbean create a Boutique Class of ships around the same size as the Radiance Class geared more towards adults that has specialty restaurants geared to fine dining.

Royal could work with a Hotel Chain like Westin and put Heavenly Beds in the room, offer In cabin dining and the Westin Bathroom etc.

What would make this class different is that there would be no Public Announcements selling Bingo or Drink Packages. There would be the Deluxe Beverage included in the booking or an upcharge for the Premium Package.

Instead of the Main Dining Rooms you would head to a restaurant of your choice and in the area of the current Main Dining Room you would have different cuisine options for all times of the day and night.

The Windjammer could turn into a Windjammer Bistro serving most items cooked to order and have more "Create your own" dishes with the ingredients available.

The Salads would be like the Tutti Fruti Salad Bar with all the ingredients tossed in front of you.

Also the late night dining would consist of a MIdnight Cafe open for late night Tapas, Cheese Platters, Sandwiches, Petit FLeurs etc.

A Frnech Bakery and Italian Gelatria would aslo be a nice addition.

The Solarium would turn into a luxurious retreat with servers misting you with Evian Spritzers, along with Spa Water, calm Spa Music as well as an upscale Park Cafe with healthy choices. Also there would be servers where you could order off the menu and they would setup a meal at your seat or table.

Entertainment would be more Broadway based with full length shows along with a Dessert Bar afer the show for a meet and greet. You work to set your dining times to meet the show times with an onboard coordinator who can work to schedule cruisers to go to the proper times(the shows are held more than once).

A Jazz Club with well- a well known Jazz musician to a Disco and other smaller venues.

Every Bar would have a mixologist to create your own personalized drink.

The casino would be non-smoking and there would be a few desigaed areas on decks away from the public areas that would be monitored.

Instead of the chaos checking in for this ship your Lounge Attendant( instead of checkin agents) would take your documents and luggage while siting in an Airline Lounge like environment with drinks and food. The luggage will be taken by porters.

You would go through security after you have been checked in to be taken to the secure portion of the lounge while awaiting barding. If you are a C&A Member based on your level you are taken to different areas of the lounge for prioirty servicing and boarding.

Upon disembarkation you are taken by Lounge Attendans through Customs to a area where you can sit and htey will bring your luggage on a cart and help you to your transporation home.

What do you think about this?

Try Seabourn, Regent or any of the true luxury brands. Never gonna happen on a Royal ship.

What he said. ^

You’re basically asking RCI to compete in a very small, specialized market that is probably already at the saturation point.

Like they say you never know what Royal Caribbean can do like the rock climbing wall, bumper cars and ice skating rink. It would be cool for Royal Caribbean to expand their brand into a Boutique Class of Ship along with their active lifestyle approach.

You don't want to be too stuffy like Seabourn or Azamara but make it so you do not have to dress up too formally at night(more of Resort Casual with khaki pants and a polo or button up shirt).

You could still have one venue for a more dressier feel but keep the rest low-key. Heck in Arizona when I go out to dinner I do not dress up in a full on suit!

Why should I be told to go to the Windjammer if i do not want to dress up to the t's? I am on vacation so I think there can be more of a Resort Casual feel in the dining rooms. Keep cruiselines like Cunard for the dress up but Royal should stick to what they do best1

Also you want to keep the age demographic young at heart without Hip Hop Music more like Disco/Motown and Soft Rock. I do not want to hear one Hip Hop song when I cruise! I don' t mind Jazz or Smooth Jazz or Classical Music. But Hip Hop music oh no way! Not a nursing home cruise like Holland America.

Sounds like you’re ready for a Windstar cruise. Small market that’s already being serviced.

Don't think this will happen.

But I would love to see a mid-size 5* ship like this under RCI logo.

Azamara is far from that (3.5* at best). This is an old poorly equipped ship, designed as a small upscale nursing home at sea.

Azamara ships are of a similar age as Radiance class. They are not small but have exactly the appropriate size for a boutique ship the OP asked for. If spmeone prefers bigger luxury ships go for Crystal (Serenity), Oceania (Marina or Riviera) or Regent (Explorer). They are all close in size to Vision class. Of course you don not get this for the prize of a Royal Caribbean cruise.
