JimnKaren Posted July 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Only if the cruise was not sold out (they tried to entice more passengers) and you were occupying an inside cabin.

Flatbush Flyer Posted July 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Is it possible to take a cruise for $1,500 a month? Perhaps on a cruise ship that no one would want to be on given what you'd get for less than the cost of a fleabag hotel.
Heidi13 Posted July 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Most definitely yes!!!! Our DIL did it - she cruised for 10 months paying a little less than US $1,500 room & board per month. However, their was a small catch, she had to work 12 hrs a day cutting hair in the Steiners Spa (Princess). Seriously, you get what you pay for. Rare MicCanberra Posted July 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Is it possible to take a cruise for $1,500 a month? Welcome to cruise critic. It is possible but it would need a lot of certain circumstances. Have you found one? I now need more details.:D
leaveitallbehind Posted July 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Is it possible to take a cruise for $1,500 a month? As a solo passenger, highly unlikely - if not impossible - on any cruise line. Even as one of two in a double occupancy with that as the per person rate, also highly unlikely. I would think double that for the lowest category inside stateroom as the per person rate with double occupancy may be possible on some lines and itineraries. That would probably not include gratuities either. But given that, it also would be stateroom only with no additional on board spending.
Aquahound Posted July 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Is it possible to take a cruise for $1,500 a month? Just for the cruise fare or all expenses considered?
donaldsc Posted July 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 11, 2018 Assuming that you do not take off your gratuities, your tips for the month are going to be $450. Did you figure that or are you planning to remove your gratuities? DON
sanger727 Posted July 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 11, 2018 No. At that price your max price would be $350 per week. A quick search shows a handful of weeks a year at that price but not enough to piece a month together. Also add another $350 pp per week in port fees, taxes, and gratuities. So minimum cost for the room is going to be more like $6,000 per month, and that’s only if you can find enough cheap weeks to string together. Rare MicCanberra Posted July 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 11, 2018 It really does depend on a few variables, cruise line, cruise fare only, twin or quad share, etc.
jocap Posted July 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 11, 2018 I looked at last minute offers for a month long cruise on one of the less expensive lines, Cruise and Maritime, which won't be much use as it's from the UK to Canada in the fall, and back- 30 days, inside cabin; it's $2507 and that will be double occupancy. The tips are slightly less for more than 16 days, but work out at $7.92 a day, but there's nothing else to pay except what you buy on board, as taxes etc have to be included in the offered price. So that's probably the lowest you can find... unless they have a vacant cabin the day before. :D

Aquahound Posted July 11, 2018 #14 Share Posted July 11, 2018 All expenses. That'll be tough because right off the bat, about $500 would go toward gratuities. Then you have a whole month of resisting alcohol, sodas, specialty coffees, specialty restaurants, excursions, etc, just to maintain that remaining $1000 for the cruise fare. So no, I don't think its possible.
leaveitallbehind Posted July 11, 2018 #15 Share Posted July 11, 2018 (edited) All expenses. Not possible. We've all explained why what you are hoping to do is not reasonable as your budget is too low and not realistic in today's cruising economy. With stateroom fare, taxes, port fees, gratuities, and even a minimum amount of spending money, you would need more than double - and more likely triple - your budget and have another with you in the lowest stateroom category to even start to consider your dream. And even then you'd have to find the right line, dates, and itinerary. But the best way to know for sure is to contact the various cruise lines or a travel agent and give them your budget and see what they say. Let us know what you find out.... Rare MicCanberra Posted July 12, 2018 #16 Share Posted July 12, 2018 Wow, cannot see how you can do it, even my uncle's row boat would cost you more than that for a month, once you factor in a sleeping bag and an esky for of beer.
