On the Oasis - Sky Level Any questions?

Recommended Posts

For the teenager, I suggest the Wipeout Cafe. That is usually not crowded on embarkation day, and has hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, etc. There is also a free soft-service ice cream machine there.

I figured we'd Taco about it some time.

I can reserve Comedy Show once I board, though, correct? According to the RCCL Rep helping me with my cruise, Suite guests already have reserved seats at all shows. So I'm guessing we just contact Suite Concierge after boarding for all reservations, shows and dining?

I really just want to know if I can stop stalking the site for shows to be released for reservations LOL

Book your comedy show ASAP.

It is a tiny venue with no reserved suite seating.

The aqua, theatre and ice shows can easily be accessed using the line for suite guests.

Did you receive a Sky Class "Welcome Letter" outlining all of the amenities for this suite class and if so, could you post a copy of it? I saw a copy of the Star Class "Welcome Letter" on another thread. Thanks!

We received a welcome letter on day 3. I will post it this weekend when I'm back home.

I don't believe there are any seats reserved for suite guests in the comedy venue. However, they do hold back some slots for onboard booking, so you can try booking as soon as you get onboard.

Seats are not reserved for the comedy show. The concierge can reserve a time or change a time for you. I suggest being one of the first in the suite lounge. The line to talk the concierge was a bit long on the 1st day.

Last year when we sailed in a GS (14730) we met in the CL on the last day to be escorted off the ship at the posted time.

I know Star class gets escorted out by their genies.

Do Sky still have this service of meeting and be escorted down as a group?

Thanks

I'm on the Oasis in a Sky level suite. I'm happy to answer any questions about the new suite benefits or the Oasis.

So far I have not seen many changes from the old suite program at the Sky level aside from the seapass card and VOOM.

The seapass card for sky suite is now purple vs gold card. I also saw a dark blue seapass card. I do not know which suite level gets the blue card. A piece of paper with an access code for VOOM was attached to the seapass card at checkin.

There is a 50% discount on a specialty restaurant if you My Time dining. I guess they are trying to keep the lines shorter on the first day.

I saw a couple in the elevator with their suitcase. They had a pair of handcuffs inside. In case you were thinking of bringing some, don't. Handcuffs are not allowed.

There is a Tiffany store onboard now. I'm not sure when it was added. Tiffany and Co. wasn't here in 2014 when I sailed after dry dock.

I just wanted to offer a big THANK YOU for starting this post and taking time out of your vacation to help the rest of us understand the new process.

I've personally experienced a lot of inconsistency on this practice not only among ships, but among different concierge personnel. If you have same ship/same concierge on your sailing, you may have better luck with a consistent result. :)

No problem, I have always received lots of good information from CC and wanted to pass it on. I'll start posting pictures tomorrow.

We received a letter stating escort service by concierge would be available at 7:30 am and 8:30 am (the times may be off but have the letter, which i will post). Space was limited but you can sign up in the SL.

Since my flight was late, I decided I would walk off after 10 am. Never again!! By 10 am there was no longer a line to get off the ship but long lines in the terminal to get downstairs to the luggage area and then through customs.

The concierge mentioned the suite luggage would be in a separate area but I did not see this area as I opted for the luggage valet service. I do not know if there was a separate line for customs once you picked up your luggage from the suite area.

One note on luggage valet service, the $20 fee showed up on everyone in the room seapass account. On Wednesday I went to GS to have it removed. The GS associate who helped me said all passengers are charged the fee. I mentioned the service was complimentary for suite guests. After checking in the back, she assured me the charge would be removed by Friday.

Of course, this was not done by Friday so back to GS. The line was long but moved relatively fast (30 minutes). Once again I was told all passengers are charged the fee. However, this time I had the suite letter listing the benefits. I thought this would save time but the GS associate helping me still disappeared in the back for approximately 15 minutes. When she came back she said she could not remove the charge but it would be removed by time the final bill was printed. Fortunately, there was a $20 credit on the bill I received this morning.

Just a warning to check your account early in the week to ensure you are not charged. I noticed the charge on Friday after the concierge was off for the night. I guess this is something that he could have helped to resolve to save time.

The first time we had LV in a suite the same thing happened, only we saw the concierge and they explained that it would be reversed on the last night. Sorry to hear that you spent/lost time on this.

Thank you for taking the time to post such valuable information. We're cruising in an OS on Oasis and looking forward to it. We're also trying MTD for the first time. I read somewhere if you're in a suite the wait for MTD will not be as long. Can anyone input information on that?

Thanks,

Reportedly, you will be seated almost immediately as a suite guest. This is being discussed here:

We were on this sailing in a CL. The price of the Standard Cabana on Labadee was $295. We found the food/service in CK to be far superior to the MDR and ate every breakfast and dinner there. As someone mentioned earlier, it is so much more peaceful than the hustle & bustle of the MDR. CK was busy every evening but never totally full at any one time. It is best to have reservations.

I am in a L2. The room is over the golf course and the landing for the zip line. This end of the L2 are less noisy than the ones over the basketball court, imo. I stayed in one over the basketball court on the Allure and there is more activity. Golf is less noisy and less popular.

Stayed slightly to the right of the Basketball court twice (1736) and the noise never bothered us, never heard it if it was there.

Of course we usually do not get back to the suite for the night until 1-2am.

And I am sure there all basketballed out:D

Love the room and watching the docking from your balcony, since most ports are docked on this side.

Enjoy we did and will again in August.

Safe travels.

I was on the last sailing (4/23-4/30) on Oasis before the new suite amenities were rolled out in a CL, the last sailing to have the gold key card [emoji6] lol. We got a letter from concierge would escort off at 8:30. We didn't use it bc my flight wasn't until 1pm. We hung around the ship and sat in schooners bar and watched when we saw a lull in the line and just walked off the ship at 9:45. The luggage is in a separate suite area and there's a separate suite line for customs. We walked off the ship at 9:45 and was at the airport by 10:30.

I only have one question. Are the suites as lovely as they appear in pictures? That's probably the only way I will ever see them. However, if they are really that beautiful, they may go on my bucket list.

The suites are every bit as beautiful as they look - I would have to say the pictures don't do them justice!

I definitely agree with this, the suites are pretty sweet -- but only if you spend time your in cabin and utilize the perks. We cruise far fewer than we'd like so that we can enjoy the suite and the benefits (cruise in a suite 1x every 1-2 years vs. regular balcony 1-2x/year) -- priority on/off the ship, rarely waiting in line for anything ever, best seats in restaurants & venues w/o hardly ever needing a reservation, etc. Eliminates most of the pain points you experience when vacationing/cruising.

It's worth it to us for the overall experience to save up and go less frequently. YMMV.

There is a sign in front of the maître d' in MDR for Star, Sky and Sea level suites. Just show your seapass card and you are next to be seated.

I have a picture. I will try to start uploading tomorrow. I had some technical issues with downloading.

Thanks, Gregg, nice to hear that!

We had mixed experiences dining in CK. We did only eat there twice in April on Oasis and 5 nights in specialty. Never ate MDR.

The first meal there we thought was amazing as well as the service. The second meal, which was the second formal night was just ok I thought. My fiancé had the lobster tho and liked it. Service was sub par and my steak was the same.

As others have said, royal is good with inconsistent. Food is subjective, agreed.

Best meal onboard IMO was the hibachi side of Izumi. Had it twice it was so good. Can't wait to go back in Sept!

Question: You mentioned the 50% Discount on Specialty Dining. Is that for the entire cruise or just Day 1?

I only inquired about a discount in a speciality restaurant on day 1 so I do not know about the other nights. I bet the last night is also a good night to ask about a discount.

The discount wasn't published. I just walked in and asked was there a discount for C&A members. I was then told there was a discount if you had My Time dining.
