White pass train trip...how cold were you?

Hi..I read a few posts that said "It was freezing on the train". Just taking a poll to see if you were cold or just fine. I want to know how to dress. Thanks.

Depends on the weather and time of year. We previously were on the in Skagway in June and it was 80 degrees so the train ride was comfortable for me. Just be prepare for any type of weather, I carry a back pack every where with keep extra clothes to put on if I am could. Have a great trip.

Excellent advice! We always have a backpack with us. It may start out empty if is cold when the excursion starts and ends up full if it warms up during the day and vice versa. It includes layers and an emergency rain poncho.

We were on it middle of May when we went. It was not cold at all.

The train cars all have heaters that they turn on if it's cold. The only time you might need extra layers is if you plan on spending a lot of time on the platform taking pictures.

We have also gone in the middle of May...we weren't cold at all...and we're from hot, dry, SoCal.

They had the heaters on when were on the train in July and it was HOT on the train.

We have been on the train several times, including the middle of May, and have never felt cold.

I have never felt cold inside but the time I stayed outside on the last car the entire time taking pictures, I am glad I had a jacket with me.

It was close to 80 degrees when we were there .It was a great ride.

Solution, take a jacket, but do this excursion.

Thanks everyone....now I won't dress like I'm going into a freezer. This really helped me as we are going on a sea/land tour and won't have access to our suitcases. Great advice.
