Looking at the pictures are great. BUt sometimes, very EERIE, with few people included in the shots. I understand that you do this on purpose but sometimes makes me think that you may have a runaway ghost ship.

Ha ha. . .Now that would be cool ! A Runaway Ghost ship !

Thanks for the nice comments !:)

Radio your reports and pictures are really great! Can you comment about your cabin? We will be on the same deck as you in the same type of cabin. How are the mattresses? How bout water pressure in the shower?

Also, we are HUGE NFL football fans and are hoping to be able to watch the the Conference Championship games on Sunday 1/24 while cruising South. Do you know if there are any large screen tv's in any bars/pubs, and if they get CBS or Fox stations, or Direct TV?

Thnaks again for having us aboard with you! Bob

Hi Bob:) I have sailed quite often in January before and the cruise has fallen

on the Championship Sundays.....I was on Galaxy last January and yes,

they showed both the AFC and the NFC Championship games.

They don't get Direct TV....they get a connection via ESPN via Fox/CBS

for the games......its sort of satellite connection.

They set up in one of the lounges with food available too.

I watched both games last January while on the ship:)

Hope this helps a bit. They don't usually show regular Sunday games but for the Championship games

and Superbowl they do special stuff so I am guessing Mercury will too!

On our November cruise, on the 29th, they showed the Ravens/Steeler's game in the Pavillion Night Club at 8 pm. No hot dogs:( but some kind of sausages.

WOW..they set up in the Pavillion for a regular game? That is surprising!

That is where the Playoffs would be shown as well:)

And I know from some friends who sailed on Superbowl Sunday they

actually set up in the Celebrity Theater on a SuperBigScreen:D;)

It certainly would make for a great movie...wait..I believe it has been done. Love your style and cannot wait to board her 2/26. Thanks for listing the internet fees. We will probably purchase a package so we can send back similar reports to kids. :p

Dan:

In the Cova Cafe, it was Khristian who was our waitperson. J found a receipt (or three or four...). Of course, there were others there who provided impeccable service as well.

Football:

Lois is right. My recollection is that they did show Sunday AND Monday football. E.g. from Celebrity Today:

12/21 Monday night in the Pavilion (Satellite reception permitting) (Giants/Redskins)

12/27 Sunday night in the Pavilion (Cowboys/Redskins)

12/28 - Monday night in the Pavilion (Vikings/Bears)

1/1 - Rose Bowl Pub Crawl - starting in the Casino, then the Pavilion at 6 with football snacks from the executive chef (very personable, too). Also on stateroom tv, channel 22, again satellite reception permitting.

We don't usually watch football so I don't know if they relaxed the "no minors" rule in the casino for that period.

HTH

[Note: J is writing his review. He did a little note, but actually he writes long-ish reviews with photos, just not along the way.]

Hi,:) that football schedule is VERY surprising to me.

I know they show ESPN games but that is the first time I have seen

anything like that before!

They used the Pavillion for all those games? There must have been

quite a few happy cruisers;)

Susan,

We'll definitely say hello to her for you:) Somehow we always seem to wind up in the Cova Cafe' in the afternoon, just about the time the chocolate chip cookies come out, I believe it's some kind of ESP experience as I keep hearing someone calling my name:D

Hello everyone ! We are in Key West today. . . We picked up the Pilot very early (530AM), and pulled up to Pier B (Hyatt Pier) at about 630AM.

The Captain has cleared the ships for everyone going ashore at about 715AM.

I will be getting off of the ship at about 9, and my plans today are. . .eh hem. . . Well I have no plans, I will just walk around key West, and decide as I go.

We have to be onboard by 2:45PM for our transit to Nassau.

The weather now is 54F, and should warm up to about 60F. It is very sunny, and there is no rain in the forecast!

Here are a few pics from this morning. . . More pics later !

Thanks for tuning in.

Thanks, Radio. I find myself constantly looking for your updates.....even when I'm at work!! How I wish I was in Key West today.

Me, too. I have even turned my secretary and my husband on to the "Live Radio" show. I would like to know what kind of camera Radio uses and whether you are a professional photographer. Marvelous shots.:o

Hello everyone ! I made it onboard by about 12 Noon. I arrived at Cruise Maryland at about 1045AM, and made it through Security, and Check In very quickly. There were not many passengers in the Terminal.

I was told that the previous passengers have not finished debarkation at that time that I checked in.

I met several of the people from our Cruise Critic Roll Call while I was waiting, so the time went very quickly. I was able to get Priority Check In and Embarkation, so when they started boarding, I was able to get on the ship very quick !

The gangway was closed due to wind, so we came on board at the lowest Deck. It was very cold, but an enclosure was provided to keep off some of the wind.

I dropped my stuff off in the Cabin, and walked around to grab a bite to eat, and a little coffee. My Cabin is very nice, and is bigger than I thought it would be. When I booked this cruise in November, there were no Balcony cabins available. I booked an Ocean View cabin on Vista Deck (Deck 9)

I was embarrassed that I didn’t realize that Celebrity Select Dining was not available on Mercury (yet). I did switch to Early seating, so that will be fine. The Staff kept apologizing that Select Dining will not be available until next month. . . They said they were sorry many times. No worries. I think I may just want to get some Sushi tonight though.

The Muster drill is at 415, and Sail Away is at 5PM. Here are a few pics of my arrival. More pics tonight from Mercury and sail away !

Thanks for tuning in. . .

Hi Radio,

We haven't met, but I'm glad I know about you now! I am still on day one and can't wait to travel with you. I hope by now you are well past the crappy cold and windy seas and are out in the sun.

Thanks so much for sharing your adventures.

I was able to use the Aqua Spa Pool, went to the workout room (for a little bit. . .), and I was able to have some Sushi up on Deck 11. Wow, I loved it. . It was very good (note to the Chef: Add more avocado, and less cucumber)I have always been lucky with the sushi chefs; once they knew me, they had a platter prepared just the way I like it waiting for me to pop in. We are sashimi people, so that's how he made it for us. Yum!

I tried the Alternative Casual Dining tonight, up in the Palm Springs Café. It was very quiet, and the food was very good. This was not the buffet, but “order from the menu” dining. (Suggested Gratuity is $2pp)

I thought they automatically added the $2 to your account when you had dinner in the Café. Do they have a check for you to sign when you leave?

I have to say again how much I am enjoying your live posts.
