I stopped in the BC Hilton, and forgot to post this info this morning. . .

I was able to upload the "Steam Effect" Video when I was in Key West yesterday.

It is a short video (1:22), and can be viewed better when the HQ (High Quality) button is selected.

The Celebrity Mercury Gulf Stream "Steam" Video can be viewed HERE.

Hi Radio!

Loved your video - we call that "sea smoke" here in Maine and it is a phenomenon we see many mornings in the fall/ winter when we fish. I have really been enjoying all your pics & posts - we know it's taking from your wonderful vacation but we sure appreciate you making time for it so we can enjoy your cruise too!:D

WOW!!! Thanks again for all the posts & pics and that video was amazing! It looked so professional. I don't know what you do for a living but you could certainly give up your day job and take pics and videos professionally! I am sure I will look at this thread many times between now and March 29 when I am finally on the Mercury. :D

It's a VCR player and there is a limited selection available at the service/purser's desk.

Thanks Bob! Too bad it's not DVD, they are so much easier to travel with. Maybe we'll bring some old VHS tapes and "donate" them when we leave.

Yes, there is a VCR in my Cabin. There are DVD Players in the suites.

The Purser Desk provided me with a list (150)of VHS Movies available.

You would simply select the title, and get it from Guest relations. . .

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

That sounds like a fairly decent selection. Thanks and keep up the great work. We drooled a wee bit more today!! :p

Great photos -- and that video of the sea steam (sea smoke) is lovely.

So Capt. Frantzis stayed on for the first leg of your cruise to help the new Capt. figure out which knobs to turn and buttons to push? Or did the new one board in Charleston and have to figure that out on his own?

Hope your weather stays nice. It's supposed to be chilly and a bit snow-flakey here in northern VA (and up through Baltimore) tonight but nothing has started yet (as of 9:15 pm).

Hello everyone. . . As soon as I walked off of the ship today, I checked out some of the pricing for rental cars, and scooters. Not today. . .I just decided to walk around.

I first went over to the British Colonial Hilton, to see about getting a day pass. I did this last Nov when I was here last. The cost is US40, and that includes a $30 food/drink voucher. The water was cold, and the pool was cold. No swimming for me today. . .

I decided to walk around and take some photos of the grounds. I used the Internet there as well (in the Business Center) I found out quickly that there are dozens of free Wi-Fi areas in Nassau. You just have to be patient to find them.

Directly across the street from BCH, there were 5 Wi-Fi areas. There were several Wi-Fi areas between the BCH and the ship.

So if you have a phone that offers Wi-Fi. . .just scan for the areas for free internet.

The weather today was a little cloudy.(OK. . .alot cloudy) and a little cool (71F), but there was no rain !

I also went over to the Pirates of Nassau exhibit. It was pretty good. . . There were a lot of interesting things there. The effects were good as well. It really feels like you are in the hold of a pirate ship during part of the tour. The price is worth US12 PP.

I had to stop at Starbucks for a nice cup of Coffee. . .I have 2 questions for Nassau Starbucks. 1. Why can’t I use my Starbucks Gift Card ?, and 2. Why is Nassau Starbucks the only Starbucks that charges for Internet Access ? ($3/2hrs) I know the price is not bad. . .I’m just sayin’

On my way back to the ship I tried some of the conch Fritters that I have heard so much about. Wow, they were tasty. They seemed to have the perfect spices.

The Mercury left today at 740PM.(The Captain said we were waiting for a few passengers arriving from the Airport ?? (??)

We will sail tonight for Coco Cay, and should arrive by 8AM. The first tender will be at 815AM.

I will be going ashore and would love to report on what changes there have been since my last visit to Coco Cay several years ago.

Here are a few pics from today. . .I have so many but can only include 6 images per post. The bulk of the images will be loaded on my cruise page when I return.

Thanks for tuning in ! More pics are on the way. . .

Loved the "filmed on location" video! You were pretty much offshore of where we go to the beach in the summer. Am looking forward to your longer video when you return.

Wow, Thanks Linda. . .It might take me a few days though :o

Radio, I can't believe how much effort you put into all this! It's great.

You had said that you were staying in Nassau an extra hour tonight. I watch a web site that shows positions of ships at sea. It shows, though, that you have moved south - away from Nassau. Is this correct or is my website not trustworthy?

Thanks.

Thanks Bonnie for the nice words. We left Nassau at 740PM.

The site you may be using might indicate if the Ships Position is Actual Time or Scheduled Time. I know that's how ********** does it.

RADIO Again your shots are powerful. The flowers in the Bahamas that you posted are beautiful hibiscus. I do hope you are having fun despite the less that perfect vacation weather. I also love the ships at nite all aglow. Have a good nite. If I were there, I would offer to buy you a nitecap as a thanks for all of the pics.

Maybe one of the headliner entertainment groups? Or did somebody miss the ship in the last port?

Thanks once again for your "live" feed & beautiful photos. You got me excited for my Freedom of the Seas cruise & now I can reminisce about the Mercury.

That sunset was amazing! What was that in the water, a fish jumping?

I can hardly wait until you sail on the Oasis!!:D

Hi, Radio. I could not sleep so I got up to get my most recent "fix" from you and your reports and pictures. Amazed to find you posting so early!

There is snow on the ground. Don't know how much. Next door county is opening schools two hours late so we may also. It is so COLD here! I am getting more and more impatient for 2/26 to get here so I can get back on the lovely Mercury.

By chance, have you seen a young man, Isalim, working (housekeeping) in the casino each morning? He is such a hard worker. We saw him every morning as we made our way to breakfast in the Navigator. He was usually on his knees dusting under the slots. If you see him, could you give him a good word and maybe even write him up with a compliment on your comment card. I would love to ee him rewarded.

Hello everyone. . . We are today anchored off the coast of Coco Cay (Little Stirrup Cay, if you view it on a map) The ship went about 50nm north of the island early this morning, then turned south to get to our destination.

The tendering ashore process started at about 815AM, and the announcement has been made for picking up Tender Tickets in the Celebrity Theatre.

The weather today appears to be in our favor, as the seas are very calm, and the sun is bright. The forecast is calling for 74F while ashore. (With no rain!)

Here are a few pics from our arrival. . .Thanks for all of the very nice comments.

More pics later today. . .

I too, wondered when you sleep! LOL Great pix! Could you comment about the quality of the food/selection/ service in the MDR? Also, is there a piano bar on board? Thanks so much, and getting geared up for the 1/23/10 cruise!

Just wanted to add my thank you for your wonderful report and especially the pictures. I have followed you before when we were about to go on the same ship as you. As others have mentioned, it takes a lot of your vacation time to post here, but obviously many of us appreciate it. Hopefully you enjoy doing it as much as we enjoy seeing the results. Thank you again and I'll be looking forward to more of your postings.
