This is the quote from post #154 Poster is Cruiser0807...

But there are allot of non-drinkers that do not buy anything on the ship, I think that is the same thing...

I agree, if you get caught, oh well.. I wouldn't be mad if I got caught, maybe upset, or devistated that I can not bring my bill down a bit.. Lol:D

But not mad.. I am an adult and I chose to take that chance.. ;)

I'm glad to hear your attitude. Devistation is appropriate.

At the risk of starting another round of comments, it could be that Carnival has started tightening the rules on this not because of liquor revenues, but in an attempt to clean up its public image. No matter haw much they've done to shed the "wild party boat" image and direct their attention to family cruising, many who have not sailed them refuse to do so because of an outdated reputation of being full of drunks (don't flame me, I'm not saying it). You even see this on other boards on CC. This may be another attempt to turn that impression around.

What are you doing? This is no place for logic and reason!

Thanks for correcting my "mistake", sweetie. Did your ears hurt when that huge "whoosh" sound went over your head as you failed to see the point of my post? :D

Ms. Margarita Mom, as she mentions, is from Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia is in Canada. People from there spell funny. :) She would normally spell it "humour", but she was being considerate of those who don't realize the intricacies of Canadian spelling and so she thusly, therefore, and hencely used the American spelling.

I was gently and lovingly chiding her in my post for not sticking to her Canadian guns and spelling it the way she normally would.

But thanks for advising me to "check my facts". I hope you feel sort of silly right now for so quickly leaping in to "correct" something of which you were ignorant of its provenance. :D

And John Heald would agree with you!

I'll refer you to at least 1 post #154. There were a couple of others that tried justifying their positions. I never said I was anti rule breakers. What bothers me is the people that start whining if they get caught or Carnival starts enforcing the rules. Similar to the hands-free cell phone laws in some states. You didn't hear a lot of complaints when it was put into law, just when it started being enforced.

My point has been - I don't care if you (not you directly Marg. Mom) smuggle alcohol. Just don't complain if Carnival does what it says it will and takes it away from you. You are an adult making a decision, be an adult and live with the consequences and realize that Carnival can do what they want on their ships.

I actually agree with you. If I chose to smuggle a little alcohol and get caught, I also chose the consequences. You won't hear any whining from me. I'll just have less money to send at the casino, shops and pictures to make up for the lose.

I guess that's where I think Carnival is missing the mark. I only have xx number of dollars to spend and I won't be spending more if they take my alcohol. I'll just spend less in other areas. In the end I have a total budget that I won't go over.

I believe you have the wrong spelling. It Canada we don't need extra letters to make us feel important.

I am crushed! I was trying so hard to get people to respect the Canadian orthographical quirks, and I was also assiduously making an effort to take a giant step forward towards world peace and I am met with naught but impertinence!

I am SO Miss Understood!

Allen, Margarita Mom is teasing you (either that or just a poor speller :D). You were correct that the word is "humour" here in Canada.
