SeaShark Posted June 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Hello, on a very recent cruise with NCL I learned that Lattitudes will be once again changing in the coming months. I did not recieve any details. I was wondering if anyone could shed more light on this as to maybe what some of the changes may be. I'm afraid that your best source for "details" was on your very recent cruise. That would have been a great time to ask someone who obviously knew for the details you are seeking. Being that none of us was there for this announcement, you appear to be the best source of knowledge as you are closest to the source. We only know what we've heard from you. hazeleyes Posted June 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2010 The only change I've heard and see mentioned is that the cruise rewards program when you purchase it you can only use it on 6 or longer days cruises.
BarBug Posted June 8, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2010 OMG!!! I'm totally betting that it does change soon....., reason being that I'm near ready to jump a tier and it's my kind of luck that it'll change right before then....:p:(
kayhil3 Posted June 8, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2010 I see now that you need 5 cruises before you move up to silver on your 6th. I believe it was one less prior to the change.
Got Tequila? Posted June 8, 2010 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2010 Back in January on the GEM I asked about changes and was told that they were looking at adding an additional latitude tier or tiers above platinum....because the numbers of platinum guests were growing daily and they needed a new goal for them to go for. I asked what the additional perks might be, or if they were just re-adjusting the perks they offered now....but was told no decisions on that had been made at that time. jsmith1195 Posted June 9, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Larger discounts for platinum guests would be great. Someone with 20 NCL cruises and someone with one should not be receiving the same discounts (well, in my opinion anyways). :D

EileenN Posted June 9, 2010 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2010 I vote for first offers at upsales for a new tier. That would be awesome.
coka Posted June 9, 2010 #13 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Actually, it is great to read they are at least talking about it. I have mentioned a few times in post cruise surveys that platinums need something to work towards. I am not sure it needs to be something big or costly nor something already done before. Maybe something more "choice" equal to what they already offer. For example, dinner in any specialty restaurant instead of just Le Bistro. Choosing Behind The Scenes Tour or (something else). Choosing laundry in a bag or drycleaning/pressing services. Something like that! I think they need to find a way to get people like me into their casino...maybe include a platinum plus gambling coupon match-play booklet. Get me at a machine or table with one cocktail and I know I would give them back two to three hundred percent...maybe that is the something else instead of the BTST! coka
Ericktina Posted June 9, 2010 #14 Share Posted June 9, 2010 I vote for first offers at upsales for a new tier. That would be awesome. Agree--it seems that the new cruisers always get the offers--why?? To get them hooked on suites??? We have never had a call despite many many NCL cruises. We are also annoyed that we cannot get other benefits that first time cruisers can get--such as a late offer for an OBC--we can't get it if we have made final payment. NCL is really not kind to their frequent cruisers !! A new level is definitely needed...
Rare sparks1093 Posted June 9, 2010 #15 Share Posted June 9, 2010 My only goal right now is to cruise as often as I can. Once a year just doesn't cut it:rolleyes:. I'm waiting for NCL to have a BOGO sale:D.
hazeleyes Posted June 9, 2010 #16 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Well I hope they hurry. I am fresh out of goals! coka That makes 2 of us! Looking foward to see what they are offering. I do love how I get the free laundry now though. I dont care too much for the behind ship tour. You seen one ship you seen them all I say! They did cut down on LeBistro perks too. Now you can only get your free meal from the regular menu. It use to be you were able to order from the special side of the menu at no additial cost. The also use to give you a bottle of water and a free drink of your choice. No more!
CruisinMaterial Posted June 9, 2010 #17 Share Posted June 9, 2010 My only goal right now is to cruise as often as I can. Once a year just doesn't cut it:rolleyes:. I'm waiting for NCL to have a BOGO sale:D. That would be dangerous for me! I would be on a cruise every time I could be. This year I am not sailing during my last vacation of the year in August. Instead I'm heading to the Cape! Four cruises this year is a new personal record though! :D A BOGO sale... cruising solo would be so much easier with NCL if they did that! The Norwegian Jewel wouldn't know what hit it if they had a BOGO sale! GREAT IDEA!!!!! :D

CruisinMaterial Posted June 9, 2010 #19 Share Posted June 9, 2010 That would explain my graduation to the silver tier coming in early January being the reason for why I didn't get the OBC for my March cruise. No biggie... soon to be graduating to Gold! :D Just wish they'd count charter sailings for past passenger credits so in January I would be Gold! :D
pcreek Posted June 9, 2010 #20 Share Posted June 9, 2010 I have a question on this. My next cruise will be my #6...(#5 was in Nov '08) so I am guessing that I'm not eligible for this perk...(Plus I booked thru CAS, and it says it's not combinable with CAS bookings anyway) But.. in looking at the tier perks...here's my question. We are in a full suite for the first time in Oct 10...aren't the suite perks about the same as the Gold level - for priority Restaurant, Tender & Disembarkation? <shrugging> just wondering...?

sjnyc323 Posted June 9, 2010 #22 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Suite perks are not the same as lattitude perks. In full suites you have access to cagneys for breakfast and lunch and other perks depending on suite categories. I have a question on this. The way I interpreted this was that they send you a payment/OBC certificate (just like RCCL does) after your cruise for the next cruise. It also looks like it has to be used within 6 months. Sounds identical to what RCCL has been doing for years, except they do it for every cruise not at tier level changes. This is a great marketing tool to encourage recent cruisers to book another cruise soon after they return from sailing. Unless RCI has changed the rules, this is one of the few things that I can still combine the stockholder credit with. NCL.com doesn't list the amount of OBC though. Has anyone received the new tier benefit since January?
