I just watched your YouTube clip and I got chills and tears came to my eyes! That was so beautiful! And that ring - wow! Lucky lady! (I'm sure you're a lucky man too!)

"Come What May" was our wedding song back in 2006 and every time we hear it, we just melt. I've never heard it live before - it was beautiful.

Congratulations to you and your fiancée!!!

Becciboo....thanks so much! The video is an awesome keepsake that we will always have and be able to share. I think almost 4600 people have viewed it online. I am trying to get more, like 1 million, but not successful so far, haha :) I even sent it to Ellen D show!

Meishie, thank you so much! I am glad you enjoyed the video. The ring is a treat. I look at it daily, and just smile at it. I went with the bigger of the two I was looking at, and never have regretted it since. My fiance is a crazy Moulin Rouge fan, like CRAZY!!!! So Come What May had to be part of my plan. It's a great song and very fitting. I was very happy that RC was so willing to work with me and play it live for me. $100 is all they charged, and then I gave the musicians a nice tip.

PMFan, thank you again :) The story was a lot of fun, it was fun to explain it to my fiance all the work that went into it, and all the help I got from this site. 17,000 views on that one thread is just unreal.

Now time to plan for Allure!!!

What more can I say than EXCITED......We got back yesterday, but were very tired....lack of sleep night before leaving with a 5 hour drive back to Jax, Fl, and it made for a long day with naps :)

The proposal......everything I wanted and more. When a plan runs as perfectly as you want it to, you know it’s meant to be. It ran perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be. My only regret if I even have one; is I wish I would have waited longer into the song, but I literally couldn't.

I had planned this for 2 months and the time was finally there, and I couldn't resist any longer.

Debbie Fewell and sidekick - I can never thank you both enough. The video is awesome. I will post the link to it here. And sidekick (Rene), thank you so much for talking to my GF, and keeping her eyes away from what I was doing :)

We had Chops at 6:30p on Sund night, we left around 8:20p. I knew the musicians would be there from 8:30-9:30p.....so I had about 10 minutes to waste...so I told my GF I had to use the restroom, so I wasted some time there, and also took the ring box from my camera case to my pocket :) There was a photographer station right when we walked back into Central Park, so I used it to waste some time, it was taking like 10 minutes, so it was about 8:35p at this point, and I had heard the music of a violin in the background, so I knew Dasha (violinist) was there. So I told my GF lets do pictures later....I had warmed her up at dinner about I was pretty sure there was music in Central Park tonight since it was formal night and I would love to slow dance with her. I NEVER dance, so she knew she better take this opportunity. This was all just a set up for the proposal. We walked over to the musicians, they were set up between Giovanni's and Central Park Cafe.....I had spotted Debbie and sidekick on the left hand side, which we discussed. I gave them a wink, and I knew it was them, and they knew it was me. Everything was running so smoothly. My GF saw it was emptier on the left side where they were, so she said lets go over there, totally going into my plan, but I said nothing. I asked my GF if she wanted it recorded since I don't dance a lot, and she said yes. Again, more into the proposal plan. I started talking to Debbie about how to use the camera, and thanking her for doing this for me, while my GF was talking to Rene, as Rene was totally keeping my GF’s eyes away from what I was doing and keeping her preoccupied. I showed Debbie how to use the camera to record, then went to talk w/ Dasha and introduced myself as “JIM”, which was the signal for her to play Come What May (from Moulin Rouge), which is our wedding song that we will dance to when we get married.

The music started, and we started to dance slowly, and then a few seconds later I stepped away and proposed………..it was everything I wanted and more. She was so shocked, so surprised. She heard the song and then me proposing totally made everything perfect for her which is what I wanted.

Debbie had it all recorded and did it perfectly……I am so thankful to have all this on video as is my now fiancé J

There were about 10-15 people looking on as I proposed, and they began to clap immediately when I got on my knee which was an awesome feeling.

After the proposal, we stayed and watched the musicians for a few songs, then went back to the room. My fiancé slowly opened the door and rose petals with a dove heart shaped towel sculpture was on the bed, along with champagne on ice w/ 2 glasses on the table. IT WAS PERFECT.

It was everything I could have ever asked for. All the planning came to reality and all worked out perfectly. I could never thank you all enough. I have showed my fiancé how many people have viewed the previous posts, over 10,000 on the previous thread……so much support. Thank you so much!!!

The rest of the trip was amazing. We really enjoyed ourselves a lot. My travel agent even sent us a cake to the room for graduation and engagement celebration. We enjoyed the shows we saw on the cruise – Hairspray, Oasis of Dreams, and Come Fly With Me.

We did the horseback ride and Dunns River Falls excursion in Jamaica, which was a lot of fun, but horrible on time management. I just got my 2nd Master’s Degree, so the time thing was very annoying. And then in Cozumel we did the Fury Catamaran with snorkeling which was a lot of fun. We didn’t do anything in Haiti except for snorkel on our own.

We ate at Chop’s twice. We really enjoyed it a lot. We ate at Johnny Rockets quite a bit, and 4 days in a row of lunch at Market Café for the roast beef J I was not impressed w/ the Windjammer at all. We only had one dinner in the MDR.

Any other questions or comments, please post and ask. Enjoy the pictures, and the video on youtube.com.

Hey Illini grad.......Debbie here, but I changed my screen name. I haven't seen the video in a while and it is still just as romantic as ever. How are you doing? You remain the proposal planner extraordinaire. I wanted to go on the Allure as well, but the saturday departure works better for me. We are going on the Oasis again in April and I will not be able to walk thru central park without thinking of the two of you. Hope this finds the both of you doing well.

MonaCK - thanks for viewing the video! A lot of time and effort went into planning this event, and I feel so fortunate, literally nothing went wrong, and there could have been so many things that could have from bad weather, to musicians not showing up, to my camera not working right, to literally anything. The video is awesome, and I will admit it everytime to anyone, but the video brings tears to my eyes too. I was finishing my 2nd Master's while planning it all, and just thinking of that time to try to make the perfect proposal and also finish my Capstone project all in one is crazy, along with working full-time. Such a fun time though. This website Cruise Critic and the people on here are amazing. I knew none of them and just posted a thread about wanting some help, 17,800 views later a plan was set, and I was fortunate enough to meet Debbie in person who did the video recording for me. Good times :)

CoralC......not sure on honeymoon yet, we haven't even done the wedding yet, haha :) After the engagement and coming back down to reality, I was offered a job promotion with the company I work for which made us relocate, so that was a big transition, and still trying to finally be fully transitioned. The biggest thing is she has her ring, and that is what she wanted most. The wedding planning is about to start (finally).

DEBBIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How the heck are you BEST VIDEO PHOTOGRAPHER EVER!!!!! Isn't the video awesome. Its hard to believe it has been 9 months since we were on that cruise together! The video brings it all back though, I can never thank you enough for how you helped me with this. We love watching the video, and love watching her face in such surprise. She had just asked me the night before, our first night on the cruise about discussing getting engaged, feeling it was a good time to do it, etc.

That is awesome you are going back on Oasis! We haven't booked anything yet, but are looking into Allure for July, or possibly Oasis again. The manuf plant I work for here in Tupelo, MS is shut down for a week in July for maintenance of the machinery, etc, so we are looking to go then.

Everything is going really good. We relocated about 3 months after the cruise, I received a job promotion I couldn't refuse, so we are no longer in Florida :(

Everything happened so fast, graduated w/ my 2nd Master's, then the engagement 2 weeks later, then interviewed for a new job 1 month after that, and then relocated 2 months after that. We are now settled pretty much and will start wedding planning.

How have you been?!

I haven't been on here for 2 years, but saw a few of you posted on this thread since my last message.

Yes, the video is no longer up on Youtube. I have taken it down.

The engagement is off as is the relationship. I apologize to anyone who wanted to see it, but it's not a good memory for me now.

A lot of work was put into it and I received a great deal of help from people on here that I could never thank enough.

However, unfortunately, some things in life do not work out, so back to the single life.

Regards
