You can replace Captain Manolis Kasselas (he works now in the RCI office) with Captain Thore Thorolvsen on Independence.

 

Thank you, I knew 4 new ones went shoreside but Capt Manolis is the first one that I've been told about!

wolfcathorse, I am looking for your review from your last cruise - did I miss it, or is it someplace that I did not find it yet ? I think it was going to be from the Serenade. right ?

 

I don't post reviews anymore unless something is really wrong or different on a ship. With RCI's service hit or miss, what may happen to us may not be the experience of someone else on the same sailing.

no, not until 2-26-16 (10 weeks from when Gjerstad signed on), the exact date could be a few days before or a few days after. So Capt Rick won't be signing back on until the end of February

Oh boy, you had to go and tell me that. Now I need to book the Voyager. Any idea where she sails these days? In case you can't guess, we love Cpt Sindre.

I was wondering if you have found where Voyager is sailing to these days, because if you haven't, I have the answer for you! Now it might be good news, but then again it might also cause you to fret because she is now sailing out of Sydney, Australia from November to March and then repo's to Asia sailing out of Singapore for the other half of the year, so we would love to have you come visit us Downunder, but its a loonng flight over here!

 

We do share your passion to sail again with Captain Sindre, he was always our favourite Captain also, having sailed with him 5 times whilst he was the master of Radiance OTS. I have estimated, thanks to this forum that he should arrive back home Downunder sometime before Christmas!

 

Its just a shame we are unable to sail with him this year as we are coming over yonder to the USA in March to take Eclipse from Miami on 18th March, then taking a quick drive up to FLL to take Allure for a test drive on 3rd April!! Thought we should try out an Oasis class seeing we have taken Quantum on the Global Odyssey from New York to Singapore.

Although we loved sailing "down under" it just doesn't fit right now. However, we are sailing sort of close (South America) and with Raina! We truly want to sail with Cpt Sindre again but it just doesn't look good for right now. Hopefully in the future.

I've always wanted to sail Asia but lately have been reconsidering it due to so many people over there smoking. France was bad enough. As I've gotten older, smoke has bothered me more and more.

can tell me, who will be the captain of the Vision of the Seas for January 2016. We are sailing 2 January 2016. thank you.

 

Captain Marek Slaby will be on that sailing - he rotates off at the end of it. You might get the new captain too, Michael Lindberg.

The new captain on Vision will be Michael Lindberg. He has just been promoted. This info was given to me by Capt Marek, so is reliable. I believe Capt Marek rotates off 1/11/16.

Thank you for the information. Does this mean that a captain rotating on will join the last sailing of the previous captain, to make for a smooth transition?

Not on normal rotations, no. But I think they do when a new captain is joining the ship. I am not certain, but am assuming this is the case because Captain Marek told me that when he joined Vision for the first time in 2014, he and Captain Lis were both on the ship for one sailing.

I'm sorry, I don't know anything more about it - just that Capt Marek said he had been on for 1 sailing with Capt Lis when he first came to Vision. I am sure Capt Marek will be very visible on your cruise. He always is. :)

Have you sailed with Captain Gus. He is actually my favorite RCI Captain. He plays a mean trumpet and is a great personality.
