You are correct. He was the captain when DW and I were on Freedom and we always loved his umm...exact depth measurements. That and referring to the Carnival Irritation and Aggravation also being in port with us.

That's great news, Karen!! Hope it is long term and that he is on OA in Nov. 2016 and Feb. 2017 when we cruise. I've never gotten to hear his announcemenets etc. but would love his wit. I was impressed when he tossed off some smart Alec, unruly teens and their families from GR when the kids talked back to him during his talk with them after their first offense (I think they get 2 warnings usually). The kids' excuse was that there was not enough for them to do and they were bored. This was in pre-earthquake dates so they were disembarked in Labadee and had to make their way to the Port A Prince Airport. (I figure the RCI country reps helped) I like a no nonsense Captain who doesn't put up with bad behavior from teens and adults!!

Great story, Sherri. On a Hawaii cruise with Captain Rob, we diverted about 4 hours out of our way to help a catamaran whose mast had broken. The ship gave them enough provisions, including fuel, to make it to SF, about 4 days away for them. I think he and Captain Per are a good combo for Oasis. :)

Just curious who our Captain will be. We are boarding Vision on 3/19/16, for 7 nights. If I'm calculating correctly from the last rotation date of 1/11/16, 10 weeks would be on 3/21/16. So would the rotation occur for our sailing, or the sailing right after ours? I'm assuming they don't rotate captains mid-cruise, but then I don't really know.

generally, rotations occur at the beginning of the cruise. The spreadsheet only calculates 10 weeks, it doesn't take into account when the cruise starts. So the rotation will probably actually happen 3-19
