Capt. Wright debarked with us in Sydney last November. It was our first time to sail with him (Radiance). He personally did the bridge tour and even dropped by the Captains Table and spent a few minutes. I would have to give him an A+ from my standpoint and it is a shame if he is no longer with RCI. Their loss.

Very true Gina. But you would think if he was fired as some keep saying (see thread about who will be the next Captain of Quantum) the site would have been updated. I have a hard time believing he was fired. He is one of the best in the fleet. I hope he is still around.

 

Not everybody who leaves a company is fired. Perhaps he found a new, more lucrative and more interesting job.

I expect that as a mid to senior level exec for a pretty big company, Captain Bill likely had the opportunity to build an above average retirement. The ability to do so might lead one to make an exit while one is still young enough to enjoy him or herself. The absence of info often leads to speculation in life and on the Internet. :)

 

I will assume the best until I hear or see otherwise. Am anxious to learn more about the purge of certain Captains though. I'm reminded that although he was American, Captain Bill held a Norwegian license if I'm not mistaken.

LOL I had wondered why he didn't just stay at his own table. I tend to do the same thing when talking about the Chef's Table - calling it the Captain's Table. I had heard he sometimes involved himself at that event making it a real experience. Capt. Sindre will do the same thing.

Had Grimstad on Freedom this past March. He is a very nice and friendly guy and stops to speak with the passengers when possible. He did a nice commnetary to show how FOTS pulls into St Thomas in a tight space.

Witnessing the maneuver was very cool.

Since you have inside info, who will be the first Master of Quantum?

When you say the name Karen, please realize there is more than one Karen on this thread. The comma you placed after the name Karen made it appear that you were speaking to 2 different people.

If I'm wrong, then I apologize. I based my post on the fact that you have, at this moment, a total of 6 posts on cruise critic, at least under this screenname, and that all 6 posts are about Captain Bill. That raises suspicion, at least with me.

 

I'm usually not a name caller, so I apologize for lowering the bar. I suspect there may be more here than meets the eye.
