dablondee525 Posted September 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Hi! What is everyones favorite deck to be on for a balcony oceanview on the Oasis/Allure?
yogimax Posted September 9, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 9, 2011 We enjoyed our cabin on Deck 8. Why? We could walk right out onto Central Park!
oneputt18 Posted September 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 9, 2011 I agree with yogimax, did deck 8 balcony on both The Allure and Oasis. A short walk to Central Park for coffee in the morning at Park Cafe. Also Dazzles at night for dancing.
daveky Posted September 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Love the question. Had the same problem making reservations myself. With all my cruising experience, even a ship this massive I had a hard time deciding which deck and settled on deck 9. I remember sailing the early years on Sun Viking on up and would always take the stairs instead of the elevators for the exercise. Well, as the they kept building more ships, I would comment on the sailings, boy I'm getting older and it was getting harder to do the stairs. Then it finially hit me, each ship was getting taller with more decks. Dah, lol, so do a combo of stairs, evelators and (hate to admit now) some age. Boys those needs burn after about 5 decks of going up stairs. Dave
K1200S Posted September 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Another vote for deck 8. The rising tide bar stops there. Going down to the promanade or up to the pool deck is about the same. Central Park is right there.
marci22 Posted September 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2011 I chose deck 8 for a future cruise because so many people seem to like it.
Mewissy Posted September 9, 2011 #7 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Another one for Deck 8. It was great to be able to get into Central Park and grab a snack at Park Cafe.

NORTH NJ CRUISER Posted September 9, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 9, 2011 Here's another vote for Deck 8 -- January 2011 Park Cafe was convenient to a get a breakfast "to go".
DonnaK Posted September 9, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 9, 2011 More important is being located near a stair/elevator lobby, IMO. It helps to minimize the amount of walking you'll have to do to get from place to place. We were on deck 10 near the forward elevators, which was easy to pop down to the Park Cafe or Promenade, or up to the Solarium. I think being near the rear elevators would be even better because in addition to CP and Promenade, you'd be able to access the Boardwalk and dining rooms easily too! damosen Posted September 10, 2011 #12 Share Posted September 10, 2011 Love the question. Had the same problem making reservations myself. With all my cruising experience, even a ship this massive I had a hard time deciding which deck and settled on deck 9. What do you think about that deck? I have book cabin 9556 for my Allure cruise
damosen Posted September 10, 2011 #13 Share Posted September 10, 2011 I will start saying that if you see the deck plans you will see that from deck 6 to deck 8 at the hump on the back there are only JS. At deck 9 you start seeing larger suites. From deck 10 there are OS and when you go to the deck 11 and 14 you will see more OS per deck. So you can see that when you start going up you will see better suites. And at the deck 12 there are 2 of the 3 best suites on the ship. So we can say that the deck 12 is "the best"?? For my Oasis cruise I had 12664 and it was perfect! Now for the Allure I have 9556
thshhh Posted September 10, 2011 #14 Share Posted September 10, 2011 Our upcoming cruise, we are on Deck 6 right by the aft elevators and the boardwalk. And, from what I can figure, we won't be looking down on lifeboats! Thinking this will be a great location.
karena1 Posted September 10, 2011 #15 Share Posted September 10, 2011 We booked a Deck 8 also, so will be a short trip for hubby's coffee in the morning.
will773 Posted September 11, 2011 #16 Share Posted September 11, 2011 I was on deck 10 on Oasis near the elevators and thought it was a great location. I was on deck 11 smack midship and thought that was a great location as well. There really is no bad deck!
hondarr9 Posted September 11, 2011 #17 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We were in 10156 near the elevators as well. Other than being on the port side I thought it was perfect. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Langley Cruisers Posted September 11, 2011 #18 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We had a hump on Deck 8, love love LOVED it. There were 4 of us in the room so the bigger balcony was nice, an extention of the room, as it were. :)
sherilyn70 Posted September 11, 2011 #19 Share Posted September 11, 2011 You are all making me very happy that I picked deck 8 after checking all of the ships floor plans. :) I'm looking forward to my D1 balcony right in the middle of the hump. sherilyn70 Posted September 11, 2011 #21 Share Posted September 11, 2011 8198? We had 8200 - it was fantabulous. :D You will love it. Yep, 8198 is the room I selected. It should have the bed by the door and not by the closet. From what I've seen now in videos that is the desirable setup.
alexkrn46 Posted September 11, 2011 #22 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We enjoyed our cabin on Deck 8. Why? We could walk right out onto Central Park! That is where our cabin is on the oasis, usually I like higher but on this ship sounds like a great location.
addicted2 Posted September 11, 2011 #23 Share Posted September 11, 2011 We just got back from Oasis today. We were on deck 11 for the second time, it was great. We also liked being able to walk to the back end of the hall to the public deck overlooking the aqua theater. No matter which deck you choose try not to be to far from the elevators, it is a long walk if you are not. We also like the higher decks for the views while in ports. If you like to watch the ship pull in port and watch the "runners" before the ship leaves you will want the starboard side.

Yes, this is why I lost 4 pounds on my Oasis cruise. Seriously.
