Radiance of the Seas.....Past - Present - Future (Continued)

We have a whole lot of Radiance scheduled this year, so we're hoping that they don't get carried away with the changes. We were already disappointed with the changes after dry dock. I mean, I love a hot dog as much as anyone, but replacing the Sea View???

Yeah, we were very disappointed when we found out our Alaska cruise would not include the Sea View, after looking at pics for years, we are not going to get to have it! But from what people are saying, the new restaurant which took up the outdoor space from SeaView is just as good and with no roof, better viewing....at least that's what I read here. Hope so:o

Yay.

We just returned from Vision on Tuesday, and guess who we saw -- Beresford! Unfortunately, we didn't run into him until Day 14, as he was working in the lounge at the back of deck 6 (must have missed him at the C&A functions). :)

I had completely forgotten he was onboard. Oh, yes, we had a great Canal cruise. Our aft corner balcony on Deck 8 did not disappoint. It was made for viewing the Panama Canal transit!

Welcome back Karen. Glad to hear you had a great time on the Panama cruise. I am so looking forward to our turn on Legend in the fall. :)

Welcome back. We were on Vision March 8 -18. We first saw Beresford at the muster drill. For our cruise he was working in the crew bar and 1 hr dinner relief in the casino bar. We were disappointed we didn't get to visit with him more.

Hi Sue, nice photo there.:) I have heard many nice things about Beresford but never had the pleasure of meeting him. We will be on the Radiance thru 3 cruises next March when we travel to Sydney Australia and looking forward to our return to the ROS since 2008. Can't think of a nicer ship to visit Aust/NZ for the first time.

Mommabean do you think he might be there during our Aust trip March 2014, April 10 & 27 2014.

Welcome home Karen. We've been home for a few weeks already. I'm so ready to go again. Hope that Beresford is in the CL this Sept. Not sure who we have next month.

I'd think he'd at least be there in March he has a 7 month contract. Some bartenders do longer do maybe you'll be lucky and have him the entire time.

Crew bar? I hate that. That almost happened to us with Gerry on our recent Rhapsody cruise. But he asked his boss, who happened to be Alme, if he could move. So she switched him to the VCL right outside the CL going to the crew bar after we left. So we got to visit every day for 12 days. And by the way Alme specifically said hi to you and Jim.

Beresford had been in the VCL for the D/D+/PC event on the cruises prior to ours so we were hoping he'd still be there for ours. I'm glad I at least saw him at muster drill and for a few minutes on another night.

Do you know Gerry's schedule? Glad you got to visit with him. Alme's a great gal. We were so happy to hear she got the permanent Bar Manager position and hope to see her again soon.

Alme was the regular bar manager only until the new one showed up on Wednesday. She should be promoted as I see it. :)

Gerry is there until August unless they extend him as requested. As far as daily schedule - just part of the regular rotation since there is no champagne bar. The RH Martini clinic is nothing remotely use to what it was on RD. all the R Bar clinics are meant to be educational rather than the fun events that kept us laughing on RD. I miss Gerry's fun martini clinic on RD. A nice Indonesian lady named Rebecca is doing a nice job of picking up where Gerry left off at the RD Champagne Bar.

Gina we leave the 15th of March, 2014 for Sydney for the 13 day NZ, then reboard for the Transpacific April 10 & Hawaii April 27 2014. This will be our first time seeing Sydney & NZ and can't think of a nicer ship to sail on then the ROS. We last sailed on her in 2008 for the RT 15 day Hawaii so it all seems like it was meant to be.:)
