Best Piano Entertainer on Carnival? (Part 2)

Oh, I see. tces posted a list from John Heald's page which is rather old. July I think. I love John and I'm thrilled that he does post the schedule at all and talks about the piano bar, but the schedule on the Bar-Barians page will almost always be more up to date, than referring back to the lists that John posts. We get info direct from the entertainers as well as some friendly well connected folks. The schedule is a very fluid thing and does change often.

Well, I will try to be better about updating here. I just haven't been spending as much time here. I should have more updates in the next day or so. In fact! Just got an update from Bob Berhalter, he will be on the Sunshine 2/5/2015 - 5/2/2015.

Steve Burk is phenomenal. Saw him in the piano bar on Valor at the beginning of the year. He just ended a run on Elation. Not sure where he is headed next. If you are on a ship where he is performing, don't miss out!

Re Piano Bar on SENSATION: In "Touch of Class" lounge...

Mike McCabe did a wonderful job...Talented, funny, and great at engaging the crowd!:)

We really enjoyed him too. He would throw in funny things so that you didn't get bored singing Sweet Caroline for the 50th time. And if he didn't like a song, he was not playing it. :) His fingers could fly!

We had him on the Valor a couple of weeks ago. He was an amazing piano player but he lacks in personality, social skills and engaging the audience. He played a lot of slow songs. I think the largest crowd in the was 10 maybe 12. One point there only 2. We were disappointed.

I thoroughly enjoyed Liz Setzer on the Ecstasy. Went to Cozumel and Key West. She was the highlight of the cruise. I closed out the bar both nights it was open. She should be on stage, not in a piano bar.

Glad you enjoyed her....But... your last sentence is a little insulting to a lot of piano bar entertainers who take what they do very seriously and that form of entertainment is considered an art form in itself... FYI, chances are she's making more $$ than anyone "on stage" on that ship... 😉

Just did a bunch of updates to the piano bar schedule. Yes there are gaps between entertainers on some ships, sometimes it is for drydock, sometimes there just isn't anyone scheduled yet. If it's not on the list, it is probably not known.

I was not dissing piano bar entertainers at all. I was referring to my opinion that Liz has the same talent level as say Norah Jones, Laura Nyro, Carly Simon, and even Elton John. (This is what I meant by being on stage.) I love piano bar entertainers and agree they are very talented. In my 50 something years, I had not heard a bar musician that had the vocal range, or playing skills as Liz. I have also heard bands such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and the Rainmakers when they did the bar circuits.

We had Ben Gentry on the Liberty back in 2012 and absolutely loved him. We spent every night in the Piano Bar!

I agree, she was one of the best I have seen in a while. I'm looking forward to seeing her again in January.
