9 month out booking suite OBC

Recommended Posts

No, just all payments have to be on the AmEx. You can still just put a deposit down and pay everything at the normal time.

Are you sure? I used my Platinum AmEx card for the deposit for our October cruise...We asked our PCC about the $500 obc offer with using AmEx and he said we would only get it if we paid it all, 100% at the time of the booking. I wonder if he was wrong as many PCC's frequently have incorrect information. I would LOVE to get another $500 obc to what we already have!

I was told that I needed to pay the entire amount at once - which was fine since I was actually calling two days before Final Payment. I had to rebook at the current price (but since the first and second passenger price had gone down while the third and fourth went up slightly, we saved $100), get what had been paid to date refunded to my VISA and then the entire amount was charged to my AMEX.

This is what we were told also. Now I don't know what to believe after others are posting saying that it has to be paid 100% at the time of booking. So now what? Best two answers out of three?

Add me to the ones that have it showing in MyNCL but only used a FCC as a deposit and will use AMEX for all other payments. I called my TA when I realized the OBC was available and thought I would have to get my FCC off the reservation and repay the deposit with AMEX but my TA said all other payments just have to be paid by AMEX.

I booked our October sailing, and placed the deposit only. The promo code, and the OBC are both showing on my documents. You DO NOT have to pay for the entire cruise at the time of booking ~ you simply have to make all the payments using AMEX.

No worries.

Thanks for your info....So heres my Question...We booked a SF PH Suite last Aug 2011 for 7 days to Alaska through CAS for this May.....We were given a Great Rate and a $250 OBC....We Used Our FCC as our Deposit....

We Always pay the Final Amount using our Amex...Can We get the additional $500 Amex OBC?....Would We have to Cancel and Rebook?

Looks like the Deal We got through Casino At Seas is Approx $700 less than the Regular Rates Currently Listed.....

Any Help or Advice?

Thanks

Well I found out my own answer by calling NCL Direct....The Rep looked at our cruise and based on us Booking through the Casino(CAS) and getting a Great rate We cant get the $500 Amex OBC or 9 Month $300 OBC UNLESS We canceled our Booking and started over....

She did the math and it wouldnt benefit us...Even with the $500 and Latitudes OBC We'd still pay more than $500 Extra by Rebooking....

OH WELL....I TRIED, lol......

Still got a Killer Deal and $250.00 OBC and Free Drink Card in the Casino with lots of Treats sent to the room like Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cheese and Wine, etc....:D.....CANT WAIT FOR MAY.....

If your cruise is booked with a certain discount code(s) you will not be eligible for the AmEx OBC..You might not realize how your cruise was booked at first so ask your PCC or your TA if you will be eligible. I'm not talking about combining with other OBC's, I'm talking about specific codes used to book your cruise.. I was denied the $500 AmEx OBC for that reason..

Thanks Peg. It is good to know the tier OBC it is still offered - although you must book within 60 days vs. 6 months now. I think my Lat tier/graduation OBC got caught up in the program change and that is why I didn't receive the Thank You note with the OBC offer.

I was on an NCL cruise on Dec. 5th. Under the old program, that cruise would have moved me to silver. But under the new program, I was moved to silver without the December cruise during the week of the cruise when the program went into effect.

My TA has inquired for me and NCL told me to call Guest Relations to see if it can be straightened out. I think I'll email Latitudes also - that's what you did, right?

Just a quick update. I just heard back from Lattitudes Clerical and have received a Tier/Graduation OBC of $150 for my Oct. 2012 cruise in addition to the $300 9 months in advance suite OBC.

Thanks for all the info. I'm glad I looked into it - more specialty restaurant dinners are in my future.

Thank you, CC members, for this thread.

I just changed my DD+DSIL+DGD's room to a suite today, and just called to see if I could get them the AMEX OBC since I have paid for everything with AMEX. We were up against the clock to do so, with 6 minutes until their computers go down for scheduled maintenance, and she could not get the code applied in time, but told me to call back tomorrow and they could get this done!

I will also ask to have the $150 Latitudes Level Up OBC added to my booking. I already have the $300.00 Easyfare OBC, but the cost of our suite has gone up enough not to make the AMEX a good deal for my booking, but I am going to ask for the Latitudes OBC.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Are you guys BIG gamblers? We cruised in November, sat in casino every night, won a little, but weren't etting BIG, wondering if it is worth me calling the cas to try to get a better deal?

OK, I just called NCL and was denied the AM OBC because I have not paid in full yet.

Peg and Barbara, it looks like your PCC has done this for you, would one of you please e-mail me your PCC's name and extension so I can call him/her to see if I can have this done? I don't want to keep calling back until I find someone willing to do this! My e-mail is my screen name at gmail without any punctuation. Thanks in advance for your help. Sure wish it would have gone through faster last night with the PCC I talked to then!

I really don't understand why the PCCs can't be consistent. Many - myself included - have reported getting the American Express promotion as long as all payments are paid with AmEx. It doesn't have to be paid on the spot 100% at the time of booking. I'm sorry this happened to you. Hope you get it resolved quickly.

I agree. I don't understand why some feel IN FULL means IN ADVANCE. Nothing says it has to be one payment in advance of the Final Payment Date - just that all payments must be with the AMEX.

Just wanted to come back here to let you all know that I had success getting the AMEX OBC applied to my daughter's suite!

And no, I did not have to pay it in full yet in order to have it done; I will just have to make all future payments on my AMEX card.

Thanks Peg013 for all your help! My daughter is doing the happy dance as I write! :D

I hope you all have fun spending the OBC and have a great cruise. If only we could train the rest of them reading too much into "IN FULL" part.
