Carnival Email Survey - Mobile, AL?

Okay, the other link I posted would not work, even though I had used it earlier. I just got this one off the NBC/Mobile website and it took me to the main survey screen, but says I've already taken the survey, which I have. So, obviously you can only take it once per computer?

Sorry for the earlier bad link, but see if this will work (from the NBC site).

2Ports has the correct 4 and 5 day itineraries.

I found an old Carnival booklet from 2009. It had a 7 day out of Mobile with the following itinerary: Mobile, Fun Day at Sea, Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, fun day at sea, Mobile.

New Orleans had two 7 days itineraries on the Triumph. 7 day Exotic Western Caribbean: New Orleans, fun day at sea, Belize, Isla Roatan, Cozumel, fun day at sea and New Orleans. 7 day Eastern Caribbean: New Orleans, fun day at sea, Key West, Freeport, Nassau, fun day at sea, New Orleans.

May 2011... We did the 7 day Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel itinerary out of Mobile aboard the Elation. Could see the Elation from the balcony of our hotel! That was a really great trip!

A sight i hope to see soon

There's a new Maritime museum being constructed right in front of the view of the ship. (That's what the construction is that you see going on in this photo) You'll never see this view again, if a ship does happen to return.

Retirement Systems of Alabama financed and built the terminal in a profit sharing arrangement with the city. Mobile was to eventually buy the terminal out right from RSA. I believe that the city floated some bonds and did exactly that, right about the same time that they upgraded to the new gangway, which they had to get to fit Fantasy class and above, ships. The new gangway itself was about 2-3 million dollars. If you have family or friends getting married, recommend the Mobile terminal for the occasion. I hear it's a great wedding chapel with a helluva view of the riverfront! :)

Thanks for the confirmation. So the decision to buy the terminal was just an accelertation of a planned event when they had to add the new gangway I take it.

As for the wedding venue. A great view and plenty of parking too!!!;)

If mobile should get a ship back the officials should look into starting a charter bus service and hotel stay from either new orleans and pensacola airports .. Fly in the day befor stay at a hotel they can work a good deal pick up passenger in the morning drive them to port drop off and pick up disembarking passengers and drop them off at the airport or hotel.just a thought

They wouldn't even need to go that far... there is a nice airport in Gulfport, MS(very close to the casinos for people who wanted to vacation before the cruise). There are actually 2 airports in Mobile, one being much larger that would probably have no problem getting cabs/shuttles to the port.

I would love to participate in that survey. I personally enjoy the Port of Mobile more than any port that I have sailed from. Less traffic, easy to navigate into and out of port, simply walk into boarding area from parking deck, personnel always very friendly and helpful. Well, I'll stop here, but I could go on about how convenient it is to drive from Montgomery.

Scroll up the thread. There is a link to the survey. Vote for Mobile!

The downtown airport is strictly industrial. No commercial flights there, although it is a huge complex. That's where the Airbus final assembly plant is going.

I just did the survey. I have not sailed out of Mobile, but would love to try it. When taking the survey I felt that Carnival needs to understand the impact of destinations, and the type of ship as well. They "toyed" with destinations in the survey, but not the class of ship at all. Regardless, I am pulling for Mobile since it would be closer to me as well. I did make a statement that Charleston, S.C., could use some more destinations. Freeport/Nassau is overdone from that port.

Wish they would do longer than 5 days. Liked sailing out of Mobile but 5 days is not long enough.

I know! We were ready to book the 7 night out of Mobile to Roatan, Belize and Cozumel, but Carnival pulled the plug. :(

We sailed out of Port Canaveral instead (and had a great time) but it involved an extra 3 hours on the road each way.

If Carnival is going to force me to drive to Pt. Canaveral or New Orleans to sail on a 7 night itinerary, I might as well check out the competition next time...

  • 6 months later...

I, also, would like to see another cruse line ( OR, for that matter, ANY cruise line, including Carnival) come back to Mobile. In fact, our 1st AND third cruise was on the (since sold) Carnival Holiday back in 07. Soo we have fond memories of crusin out of Mobile. The last cruise out of there, we drove there the day before our cruise from our home in Atlanta, stayed at a nice hotel and when we checked in and asked about a shuttle or cab to the port for the next day, the helpful clerk said, ' Just take the city bus, they run every 20 minutes and are VERY inexpensive, when you get on with your carry-on (luckily, we only had three) just tell the driver you wanna go to the cruise port, plus you can leave your car here, in our parking lot for the five days you're on the cruise for $50.'' I was shocked, and dubious to say the least. But the next morning, that's exactly what we did. The driver, was so courteous and took us right to the front bus stop, in front of the cruise port. In fact, when we returned, we did the same thing in reverse, just walked out, waited 20 or so minutes, and caught the bus to the hotel. Needless to say, that made our cruise experience much better.:)
