ticktoneer Posted November 7, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2012 I want to book a hotel (average priced if possible) as near to Port Everglades as possible for my son as he is cruising on Indy in January. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks ;)
Sugar*Magnolia Posted November 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2012 We just stayed at Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. Not sure what the budget is, but it is a wonderful hotel.
micmacmissy Posted November 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2012 We also like the Hyatt Pier 66. We are going in January and got a rate of $99 a night- can't beat that!
marmarlu Posted November 7, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2012 Hello, I found the Rodeway Inn to be reasonable and it also has a shuttle from airport and to cruise port as well as free breakfast. :)

Rare Keith1010 Posted November 7, 2012 #8 Share Posted November 7, 2012 I would look at the Embassy Suites. It is much more convenient to other places such as restaurants for dinner. Keith
JohninDC Posted November 7, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2012 We also like Embassy Suites, but your "average" price may be higher than mine  - a budget range (and remember Jan is prime tourist season in south FLA as lots of folks head south) would be helpful. ;) www.sunny.org provides info on most FLL area hotels and motels. Good luck! :)
angogl Posted November 7, 2012 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2012 Marmarlu, I booked that one for 12/15 before our IOS cruise. I'm glad to hear you liked it. I didn't know about the free breakfast (or have forgotten). Thanks for the info.

isabela Posted November 7, 2012 #12 Share Posted November 7, 2012 Sleep Inn in Dania is less than 10 minutes from Port. Very clean, good price, almost free parking ( think is $40 for the 7 days parking), free shuttle, free breakfast (good) and you have Wallgreens, Publix, restaurants and many more just at a crossing of the street. Putterdude Posted November 8, 2012 #13 Share Posted November 8, 2012 We have stayed a number of time at the Renaissance on 17th which we have got by bidding on Priceline and have been extremely pleased the hotel. This year we are staying at the Hyatt Place on 17th, which again we got on Priceline.

Any info on Hampton Inn Commercial Blvd Tamarack or Hampton Cypress creek? Anything to do near these two, How far from Port everglades. These are very far from Port Everglades (12 miles) and there isn't much to do near them. If you have a car it's fine but I wouldn't stay at the one on Commercial Blvd...it is across the street from Lauderhill, a high crime city. If you take a taxi, expect to pay about $40 each way. Jiffymom Posted November 8, 2012 #16 Share Posted November 8, 2012 Thanks .Love CC always gives us good info.Just trying to find something decent around 150-160 in March.Yes I know this might be difficult.
ragtiki2004 Posted November 9, 2012 #17 Share Posted November 9, 2012 Rates are high in March because of spring break. Try Hotwire, I have used them during peak vacation times and have never gotten a bad hotel. Bob:)
royalcruz Posted November 9, 2012 #18 Share Posted November 9, 2012 Yes, book a downtown/port area hotel on Hotwire! Or you should be able to get the Hollywood LaQuinta or Sleep Inn Dania for just a little over your budget.
ragtiki2004 Posted November 9, 2012 #19 Share Posted November 9, 2012 You might want to check out the Alhambra hotel next to the Casablanca . Their room rates seem fairly reasonable throughout the year. Sharon, did I spell that correctly! Bob:)

barrymx5 Posted November 10, 2012 #22 Share Posted November 10, 2012 We tried the Crowne Plaza because it is the local Hertz drop off point and has a shuttle to the berths. In fact the lines were so long for the shuttle we took a cab - only a few bucks. Certainly not up to other Crowne Plazas I have stayed at.
Florissouri Posted November 10, 2012 #23 Share Posted November 10, 2012 well problem is I need 9 rooms. So not sure about bidding. Depending on your configurations you might check with the Hyatt Summerfield Suites and see if you can book some of their 2BR/2BA suites. It's close to the port, mall and a number of restaurants. swigso Posted November 10, 2012 #24 Share Posted November 10, 2012 Hi I can book this hotel with points how much will it cost For a taxi from the port. I cannot decide if I should hire a car as we come off the Eclipse Saturday and sail on the Ind o t Seas on the Sunday. Also would the Ft Lauderdale beach be a better location. Thanks

One is about 12 miles north of port in the middle of no where (so to speak) and you would definitely need a rental car. The problem with that, though, is they charge for parking which negates any savings of dollars or points. If you're asking about the Westin Ft Lauderdale Beach at 321 Ft Lauderdale Beach Blvd that is a much, much better location and you won't need a car. Besides, if you stay there a taxi from and to the port is less expensive than parking.
