What other decent lines do the Caribbean besidesd Carnival, Royal, and Disney?

Are there any other cruiselines that service these areas that are decent? I have read mixed reviews about HAL and Norweigen. Are either of these comparable? I am not looking for a "luxery" cruise either, just your basic fun loving, but not party to get drunk cruisers. Things I enjoy include the evening shows, piano bars and karaoke, occassional casino time, comedy lubes, and numerous activities on board. I have traveled mostly Carnival, but I would love to expand and try new lines if they are somewhat affordable and enjoyable to someone who likes to be busy while on her cruise, as opposed to just "relaxing!" (although some time for that is OK!) Thank you for your input

I've been on RCCL, NCL and Carnival. I've enjoyed all of them and each of them offers the same basic product with a few different features (ok, maybe a lot). If you've been on Royal and Carnival I'd definitely give Norwegian a try. I was on the Epic and loved it. The entertainment, service and food was great and the ship was beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was the high glass over the railings on the pool deck but you can find something you don't like about every ship. The Pearl seems to get good reviews but I haven't been on it yet.

We have been on Princess and enjoyed it! It's actually not that much different than Carnival from the experience we had. There were more similarities than differences for sure. I will warn you, they have a more dressed up feel for dinner, they don't want you in t shirts and shorts and we did see some people turned away. But honestly, look at Princess too! We had a great time!

IMO, Princess is classy without being snobby. Comfortable accomodations, relaxing decor, great service, multiple dining options, etc, etc ....

Passengers can be as busy with activities or as laid back as they prefer. No "hairy chest" contests, and no rock climbing walls. But plenty of scheduled activities, entertainment options, assorted bars and lounges with music in the evening or one person acts (ie. comedian, etc.), production shows in the theater.

Love NCL....HAL tends to get a slightly older crowd, but we still enjoyed it...(maybe because we are "slightly" older....!)

:D

Ditto to the above

On our last day on Princess - all is good except lacking in entertainment in the evenings.

Anxiously waiting for our next NCL cruise

It all depends on when you want to sail. In the summer, the choices are fewer as many cruise ships are deployed back to Europe or to Alaska. Also I would say that within the same cruiseline your experience can vary a lot depending on the ship.

For example on Royal, the cruising experience on Majesty of the Seas is vastly different from Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, two absolutely fantastic ships with such a variety of options to offer.

Similarly, the difference between, say Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Epic is quite dramatic with Epic being loaded with options. So even if you have sailed on a smaller or mid-size NCL ship or Royal ship or Carnival ship, trying out their biggest ships would be like an entirely new experience.

You have not been on one of newer Royal Caribbean ships. The Oasis and Allure are pricy but packed with entertainment. So much that it takes effort to do everything you want on the ship.

The Freedom class also has a lot going on. In this class are the Freedom, Liberty and Independence.
