ready2cruzagain Posted February 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2013 It is included in the price of your cruise. You pay nothing extra for it. Love the private islands!
bar1068 Posted February 14, 2013 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2013 No cost at all, part of cruise fare.

gusandgidgetsmom Posted February 14, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2013 It is as the other posters said free. This island is amazing. It is my favorite of the private islands the cruise lines go to. Not as close as Coco Cay to the dock but way better in my opinion.

sra12574 Posted February 14, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Besides the jerk chicken what are some of the other good offerings they have at the Beach BBQ.
cyntil8ing Posted February 14, 2013 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2013 Personally, I'm not a fan of the island bbq, though I'm a huge fan of the island. Calling it a bbq is a misnomer. The food is burgers, dogs, chicken and ribs with a few salads and two or three desserts served buffet style. The lines can be very long. Seating is at covered picnic tables. There's always plenty of room so finding a seat is not difficult.
jcearth Posted February 14, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 14, 2013 The jerk chicken was definitely the highlight of the BBQ, and I thought the cheeseburgers and cookies were pretty good as well. A few suggestions: bring a sports bottle or tervis tumbler or something similar fill up at the drink station -- the cups on the island I though were a bit on the small side. (And remember, the proper way to fill your containers is to pour from the dispensers into their cups, and then into your container.) Also, there are a few different lines food lines, so don't just crowd into the nearest line. Finally, there is plenty of seating scattered about (the pavilions seemed to be in a maze-like pattern, and the setup was a little confusing - might have had a little bit to do with the amount of adult beverages I was consuming), so if the nearby tables seem full, keep walking a bit. Have fun, it is a great island!!!
travlngrl1996 Posted February 14, 2013 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2013 The only thing you pay for is the adult beverages (alcohol).

The island was fabulous.. just not the food.
alabamaprincess Posted February 14, 2013 #15 Share Posted February 14, 2013 I enjoyed our lunch on HMC. We had burgers, potato salad, and brownies. We also had a cabanna, so we did not go hungry. Loved bringing our buffet lunch back to the cabanna.

Why do you say it is a misnomer?
KPfromCT Posted February 14, 2013 #17 Share Posted February 14, 2013 We were not impressed with the food either. However, with that being said, you definitely won't be hungry. And forget the food. This is the most BEAUTIFUL place on Earth. I would settle for living in one of their cabanas.

Why do you say it is a misnomer? That's what I call a BBQ. I think what I call BBQ is considered "Grilling" in some areas though.
