I would like to do another Radiance class on a different itinerary, but I would also like to do a Voyager or Vision class. Right now Oasis class is not on my bucket list! Just seems more like a city than a cruise ship! :eek: We both work and are not retired so we can't cruise every other month like some people are able to do. I wish we could, but for now we will have to save and see what happens! :)

DW and I both are retired, but we can't sail every other month either. We cruise 2 times a year and that seems to be the right amount for us. We take family to Hilton Head Island for a week every July, so we do manage to work other things in.

 

Smooth sailings on all your future cruises.:D

so can you give us some pre and post cruise reviews? (unless I missed it)

 

Did you stay in Tampa the night before or after? Where did you stay? Any photos of hotel or anything else in Tampa?

 

Suggestions as to what to do. We are staying one night pre cruise and right now we are talking about catching the trolley to Ybor on Sunday night.

 

What about post cruise? did you head for home right away? Our flight home isn't till late afternoon so considering a boat tour or open to other suggestions.

No I am sorry but my husband and I aren't really wine connoisseurs..so we didn't even ask for a list...we have a few we have found we like and tend to drink those, they mostly come from the grocery store and some of them actually have a cork! :rolleyes: . The only wine we drank this trip was some Moscoto in the dining room but it was really good!:D Sorry I couldn't help maybe somebody else can answer that question for you.

Thank you, I have a cousin that lives in Riverview so we drove down the day before departure and stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Brandon/Riverview/Tampa area. We didn't take any pictures sorry but it was a nice hotel in a safe area and right around the corner from the Westfield Mall which was beautiful by the way. The mall was so big it required two Starbucks! :eek: But anyway we got to visit a little with my cousin then had a nice dinner at Red Lobster before turning in. The hotel was about 7-10 miles from the port but we headed over about 9:30 I think. We had Valet parking at the port which was only $20 more than parking yourself and let me tell you it was sooo worth it and sooo easy! Pulled right up to the front the valet scanned our prepaid barcode took our luggage out and gave them to the porters and gave us a ticket. We walked maybe 20 feet to the desk signed a paper and went straight up to the terminal to wait to board and start the most wonderful vacation.

The day of departure they had everybody ready to leave early, we found out they were expecting a big coast guard inspection, so we were off by 8:30 and headed home.

Jeff & Cindy...Thank you for your entertaining colorful, and cheerful photo review...especially all that food porn. I think the new menu does make quite a difference in the food. :):):):)

 

Thank you cruiseclues! We really had a great time and hope that the review will help someone looking at this ship and entertain anyone already booked and just building excitement while they wait to board! The food was great and I loved taking pictures of it, although I am sure I got a few strange looks too! :rolleyes: Oh well who cares, I was on vacation! :D Happy cruising! Cindy

I forgot to thank you for posting the Cruise Compasses. They are so helpful for people who are planning their cruise. I wonder why the cruise lines don't send you a link to download them ahead of the cruise. Sure, things change, but chances are, the week before your cruise, they're pretty much set with what they are going to do, don't you think?

You are welcome for the cruise compasses. We saw alot of people wanting them so we tried to keep everything we could for those interested. I dont even think we really used them. We were kind of laid back and didn't plan anything this trip but had a wonderful time. Cindy

Only 150 days until we board the Jewel, and very much appreciate the time you took writing & sharing this review. :) Helps the wait a little more bearable. :p
