Best is difficult to define. Iconic, expensive but good Raffles, less expensive but really good are Fullerton and Ritz Carlton, we have stayed in both, of the two Ritz Carlton had the edge only because its rooms and views were so amazing

You are spoilt for choice with Luxury Hotels in Singapore...

Raffles, InterContinental, Four Seasons, Swissotel, Fairmont , Conrad...the list just rolls on and on.

The latest is the Marina Bay Sands which offers stunning views....

and for something a little different , we had friends who stayed in a small but charming Boutique Luxury Hotel called ,Hotel Nostalgia. http://www.hotelnostalgia.com.sg/

They enjoyed it but said it was a little off the beaten track.

We stayed at the Park Hotel Clarke Quay for 6 nights in late January and early February, 2013. Book a Crystal Club Room and you will be treated very well. Made to order breakfast every morning in the club room. Snacks and light refresments in the club room throughout the day. Happy hour from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the club room which includes beer, wine and assorted alcoholic drinks as well as at least 6 hot appetizers. Separate check in and check out with the concierge on the 10th floor. The crystal club rooms are on the 9th and 10th floors and require elevator key card access. We only had one restaurant meal while in Singapore and that was in Chinatown. Cost was $1,408.55 US for 6 nights.

We'll be spending a few days in Singapore after our cruise. Which is the best luxury hotel in Singapore?

There are many luxury hotels in Singapore. So, what exactly are you looking for?

One that hasn't been mentioned is the Shangri-La. Apparently, all the US Presidents who have ever visited Singapore stayed there. It is a bit out of the way though, and not great in terms of getting around. Maybe that's why they chose it - better security?

The Ritz Carlton is very famous and luxurious, I'm told.

Sounds like an awesome deal! Was there a discount due to a longer stay?

Yes, I think it was 20% off for stays of 3 or more days. But even at the regular price, it would have been a good deal. I forgot to mention that the Clarke Quay waterfront area is a fun place to visit in the evening and is a short walk from the hotel.

Yes, Singapore nightlife has improved tremendously in recent times.

Thanks for helping us promote Singapore as a tourist destination.

We will continue to support Singapore as a friendly destination for tourists. We hope to someday return and spend more time there. We really did have a good time while we were there.

The New York Times 46 places to go in 2013 features Singapore at number 11.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/01/10/travel/2013-places-to-go.html?_r=0

"As one of the world’s richest nations and a capital of global finance, Singapore has been awash in green for decades. But lately the densely populated city-state is burnishing its credentials as another type of green center — the ecological kind. A study released in 2011 by The Economist magazine’s Intelligence Unit and Siemens ranked Singapore as the greenest city in Asia, and this year the metropolis of glass and steel inaugurates two vast nature projects guaranteed to boost the green quotient further and to enhance the city’s image as a destination for environmental tourism. Gardens by the Bay, an ambitious 250-acre nature reserve, won the building-of-the-year prize at the World Architecture Festival for its glassy, hill-like main building, which houses attractions like the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. Not to be outdone, the new Marine Life Park is already touting itself as “the world’s largest oceanarium.” It features a huge water park with rides and an aquarium showcasing some 800 species of underwater life. — Seth Sherwood"

That sounds great (and the price too).

We have stayed at the St Regis and the Marina Bay Sands, the Stamford and Raffles, I would go for the Marina Bay again if we go back next yr, as it has the best pool in the world( and the highest) and it has the most fantastic shopping centre underneath which is full of designer shops..and great eateries and top notch restaurants.

The other hotels are good, but location wise, the Marina Bay wins.

Its.right in the harbor where they have a nightly light show, and is next door to the flyer, and has a bum boat ferry stop, and close to hop on hop off bus stop...

And oodles of taxis.

We stayed at the St. Regis pre cruise and the Four Seasons post cruise. Both were fantastic. The St. Regis is at the top of Orchard Rd, so there is a bit of a longer walk to the malls. However it was also an easy walk to the Botanical Gardens. You can't go wrong with either.
