'50s/'60s Cruises

Hi Everyone...

Does anyone have any information on any ships that are having a '50s/'60s music theme this year? Or any ship that has a '50s/'60s sock hop night on a regular basis? My brother loves this music and loves to dance to it. This would be his first cruise and I'd love to see him go on Celebrity.

Thanks for any answers.

I kinda thinking with the Modern Luxury marketing and execution that has been reported lately this probably won't be happening on Celebrity.

You might put your post on the Theme Cruising section.

Hi, I agree with the previous poster. I will say over the years they

might have had a sock hop (on ocassion) but no, not on a regular

basis and there is really no way to say beforehand if that would be

an "evening event".

As for 50s/60s music? After reading many of the "music threads"

recently? That is one type of music I have not seen mentioned at all

and I doubt it will be heard anytime soon either.

This is not celebrity's target market. More likely you will find a rap cruise.

Princess and HAL have malt shop cruises too.

A majority of passengers on X are in the age group who would enjoy this type of music. It is odd that X doesn't think this age group is their 'target market'.

On the FLL to Valparaiso repo cruise in December, there was a 50s music trivia event after dinner that became about the dancing and not the trivia. Another night, after the Boogie Wonderland production show, there was a disco night in the lounge with the dancers. I hope this helps, but it was a sort of unique itinerary

Gig103...sounds like a couple of fun nights on your cruise. Boogie Wonderland has played here in town quite a few times, and I have wanted to see them, but haven't made it yet. Thanks for the information.

Thank you so much, Everyone, for all of the information.
